Food OK but service abrupt. None of our courses arrived together which wasn't great and some of the staff struck me as a bit smug, not really that bothered about how their customers felt about their food/service and, in some cases, overtly rude. Think the food is good and they know it but they might struggle if a new Chinese with better mannered staff comes to town.

We have been to this restaurant a number of times and think it's the best in Manchester. My overseas business guests always ask to go for a revisit because they like it also.

Went for a meal on Friday night. The Food was really good. We had soup and minced chicken to start, followed by steam fish and sizzling chicken in black bean. The portions were large and the quality of fish and meat was very good. The spices were delicate and flavorsome. Each dish was well presented and service was attentive and friendly. A excellent Chinese restaurant.

We went to Tung Fong for the first time a few months ago and although the service was bordering on unfriendly, the food was excellent. We went a second time, again the food was good but the service left a lot to be decided.
Yesterday we took two friends who had not been there before, said don't worry about the abruptness of the staff as the food it good. I have to say never ever again. The staff proved to be the most ignorant, unhelpful and down right rude we have ever encountered. I cannot believe that it can go on - it was disgusting.

love it! great service, great portions, soup nice and hot(unlike some Chinese restaurants....) and a great cosy atmosphere. I had fried mixed veg in blackbean sauce, fantastic.

i went with 2 friends last night.... verify very good indeed. i have been few years back but noticed how much better it seemed last night (although it was very good last time, just filled up on all the starters so couldn't manage the mains).
for a Thursday night it was very busy, food was well priced and big portions even the quarter crispy duck did 4 pancakes each...recommended!!!!!!!
The Tung Fong in my opinion is the best Chinese restaurant in Manchester. The Food is always amazing though at times the service can be bettered. The building is set in a picture postcard location of Worsley near the canal but the inside is in need of a refurb. The menu isn't the standard Chinese menu that is normally found in most although if that? your taste its there for you. I would strongly recommend the Large Mussels in Garlic starter and the Hunan Seafood Special is amazing though Zingy.

One Word..... AWESOME.
Tung Fong Restaurant
I am not a big fan of Chinese food. I could take it or leave it. But when I went to Tung Fong it was the nicest meal I EVER had. I don't just recommend this restaurant; I dare you NOT to visit it. I ate the prawn toast (I thought I didn't like prawns). Same with the seaweed. In fact everything was gorgeous. If you like your Chinese food, DO NOT miss this restaurant. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Mike, Walkden

This is the best Chinese Restaurant in Manchester. A little off the beaten track but well worth a visit.
