Portobello Italian Ristorante – WalsallThe bast Pizza in Birmingham is Pino PIzza
Pino Pizza and Pasta – Selly OakI went to duet last year near Xmas and i don’t eat large meals but the prawns in batter for a starter was delicious and the chicken korma and rice was to die for, I could not of asked for a better meal at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend
Duet Cuisine – Fort DunlopIf you are looking for a no frills traditional Indian restaurant, which uses fresh ingredients and doesn't overdo the sugar and colourings etc, you can't do much better than this. Prices are very reasonable too compared to other more "trendy" places.
Bengal Garden Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldWhat a menu! Excellent service. The food surpassed expectation. Every ingredient is indulgent on the taste buds. I highly recommend!
The Oriental – Birmingham City CentreThis USED to be one of my favourite restaurants as the food is quite good although it is overly priced. Unfortunately, I will NOT be going back again. I booked a table for a birthday meal and could not be 100% sure of the numbers because it was during Ramadhan and it was proving difficult for some of my friends to commit completely. After many long conversations with the incredibly rude, inconsiderate and arrogant manager AJAY BHATIA, we finally booked a table for 12 and when due to unforeseen circumstances, only 7 of my friends could make it, the manager and some of the waiting staff treated us all with incredible disrespect. Drinks orders were taken and not brought to us, we were ignored by the staff on many occasions and to top it all, as I left the restaurant, the manager Ajay had the audacity to have a go at me! I am a business woman myself and believe me, if I spoke to my clients and treated them in the way I was treated my business would not last 5 minutes. I think Mr Bhatia needs some strong lessons in etiquette and how to excel in customer service!
Itihaas Indian Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreNothing to write home about, the usual microwaved / fried pre-prepared pub grub. It's reputation for being a top notch carvery evaporated years ago.
Four Oaks – Sutton ColdfieldVery friendly welcome and efficient service. very nice food except we weren't so fond of the Balti sauce although it must be said we asked for a lot of sauce and somewhere in this process the flavours went wrong due to too much coriander. This maybe an isolated misfortune as the restaurant is often very busy. Things we liked .... Food ,Service, Ok Prices Things we disliked.... Balti Sauce
Poplar Balti and Tandoori Restaurant – Balti TriangleKafe Karachi serves very good food at very good prices. It has a take away section at the front with a very comfortable family friendly eating area to the rear. The premises also has it's own car park to the rear which can be handy. Although this is a busy take away we found the Baltis to be excellent and as good as anything we've tasted in 26 years of weekly visits to the 'Balti Triangle' and the generous portions and reasonable prices at this very friendly family run business remind us of the days before Balti became trendy. The Peri-Peri Chicken, Tandoori /Chicken Tikka , Lamb Kebabs are also highly recommended as they are always very fresh due to the high turnover in the takeaway. Things we liked....... Good Food ,Good Prices, Friendly Welcome and Efficient Service, Good Atmosphere Things we didn't like .... We couldn't find fault, Kafe Karachi does what it does very well !!!
Kafe Karachi – Balti TriangleThis may be the best kept secret in the Midlands. The Varsha cooks the best tasting Balti in Birmingham, period. That’s why me and my family keep coming back to this lovely little restaurant. Keep up the good work guys and see you all the next time I start to suffer from curry withdrawal symptoms. Tuggers.
Varsha – SheldonWe regularly visit the China House with our two well behaved children aged 5 and 3. The staff are efficient and friendly and the service is always excellent. The ribs really are the best you can find and we can honestly say we have never had a poor meal. If you sit by the windows check out the traditional carvings on the wall.
China House Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldThe Deep Caribbean Experience is a quality Caribbean Restaurant in Birmingham City Centre. Deep Caribbean Experience – Birmingham City CentreWe have been regulars at this restaurant for many years and have never been disappointed. The menu offers a range of dishes to cater for most tastes, from the mild korma to the hotter madras, their dishes are just amazing with a delicious blend of flavours. I have sampled many dishes and would recommend them all. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed, a small bar greets you where you can enjoy a drink while browsing the menu before going to your table. You will always get a warm welcome from a very friendly staff.
Jaipur Cottage – StourbridgeThis restaurant is different to most other Indian restaurants - the choice is better and the food tastier. It's also quieter and more relaxed. Full marks all round.
Varsha – SheldonWent for the first time after being recommended and I have never felt so welcomed in a Birmingham restaurant before. Its not over the top its just right you are made to feel like a VIP - they have perfected the art of good service and get the rewards by having a full restaurant early on a rainy Wednesday evening. Free deserts and coffees and sweets for kids I left feeling was that for real. Oh and the food is excellent..
Jilabi Indian Restaurant – SheldonThis lovely venue was opened two weeks ago. Recommended by a work colleague who had already lunch there, my family and I decided to go there and to see, if Cosmo brings 'opulence and decadent dining' as their website put it. Not really knowing what to expect we went there on Thursday night and found a large beautifully decorated restaurant dominated by a large buffet where the chefs were busily preparing food. We were seated after a short wait. The pleasant waitress informed us of how the restaurant worked and then left us to help ourselves to the food. The food i enjoyed the most was from the Yakitori Grill Bar and was really surprised at how good it was. My wife had food from the Indian Tandoori and Curry Bar, great to watch and the kids took something from the Sushi Bar. For dessert the kids went for the chocolate mountain, whereas my wife and I took some of the fresh prepared fruits. All in all the food was fresh, tasted great and service was good. I don't know how they do all food for £12 a go but all I can say its great value. Visit this place and you won't be disappointed.
Cosmo – CoventryArrogant rude staff & bland food. Small portions. We ordered a chicken dish described as chunks of breast off the bone, only to be served two chicken drumsticks in a sauce! Also they added on a bottle of white wine to our bill which we did not have! After pointing this out the waiter went off in a huff to change the bill with no apology whatsoever. Bill for 2 people with a couple of beers was almost £80!! Will never eat there again; I have no idea who writes the reviews in the press!
Itihaas Indian Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreJilabi is literally the best Indian restaurant in west midlands. It was my first time their and staff were all A1 presented and were lovely. Food was so good its indescribable, and the best thing about it is how cheap and cheerful the restaurant is. We had a meal for four with wine and drinks and bill came up to only £35.00 and it could of been cheaper if we went for the £7.95 deal which they have got. #£7.95 for any starters, main dishes, rice and naan. The best thing about that evening was when we got free deserts and coffees as a thank you for coming. i fully recommend it to anybody that loves indian food. Best too book aswell as they are really busy due to the standards of food, soon to be a michelin star restaurant i say.
