Wall Heath Tandoori – Kingswinfordit had been many years since i had visited St Pauls Square, after visiting The Rectory I won't leave it so long for the return visit. We paid a visit last Saturday night after several of our friends told us how good it was - to say they were raving about it was an understatement! On theirs (and the waiter's) recommendation we opted for the house signature dish of homemade beef wellington, and a crispy belly of pork. I have to say both meals were exceptional and easily justified the recommendations. Perfectly cooked and equally well presented you could not fail to be impressed. Add to that the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and service that was attentive without being intrusive, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and have already booked our table for our next visit and picked up a menu for Christmas along the way!
Rectory Bar and Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreVery good Chinese restaurant. Good value for money. They provide the option of a buffet, but rather than a "help yourself" style buffet that is kept hot, each item you want is freshly cooked. We've been twice and have enjoyed our meals both times.
Johnny Wong’s – EdgbastonI stumbled up-on this little haven in the centre of brum by chance? What a great place for a well priced but tasty meal(try the Fillet Steak, to die for!!)Wine list very good and reasonable!Next time I'm in BRUM I will be BACK.Steve Manchester.
Primitivo – Birmingham City CentreWOW ! I have often come here with family and friends if we want a meal and it never disappointed. But ever since they had a refurbishment everything has just gone BETTER ! It now looks fabulous when before the the looks wasn't one of it's main features. The food is top class and my plates are always left clean. The staff are delightful, Mr.A.Ahad and Mr.M.Ali (that's not all the staff obviously, but two of the main ones I get on with) and always are very polite and lovely to speak to. I would rate it 5/5 !
Shalbon Indian Cuisine – Sutton ColdfieldGreat food , great service , and as an added bonus they've just added an online delivery service with their sister operation Pizza Pronto across the road. The pizza's are just as good as their fish and chips !
Sophies Choice – Stirchleythis place is very friendly albeit a bit grubby, but the food is excellent and prices not too bad plus its location is ideal to watch it all go by on the busy bristol road.
Selly Sausage Cafe The – Selly OakWe have been to Ponte Di Legno many times over the years from its early days in Moseley. Unfortunately it has recently gone downhill quite badly. There are some quite good main courses on offer however we have now found: 1. The service has got to the point where you are grateful if you are promptly attended to and given menus when you are seated. 2. The manager is quite simply rude and doesn’t even acknowledge you when you walk in. Then having reserved a table keeps you standing for up to 15 minutes with no apology or other seating in the meantime. 3. The main courses all have the same tomato sauce with them - whether it is pasta or pizza. 4. Be careful ordering the seafood it has made me really quite ill on two occasions! In conclusion we have got to the point where we no longer feel it is value for money to patronise this restaurant. There is such a variety of restaurants in Moseley which have better service, food, and atmosphere compared to Ponte.
Ponte Di Legno – MoseleyI went there on their first day, and enjoyed their food so much, that i went back a few times. However recently, (about 1 week or so ago), i went in and noticed that the staff had changed. I ordered what I usually do, and unfortunately the food was not what I had expected. It was greasy, the chips were hard and undercooked and i was dissatisfied with the staffs conduct. I don't wish to knock the shop, as I see they have gathered a lot of good remarks but, I was so upset, I felt this had deserved a mention. I think this shop has lost its opening day sparkle, and now the satisfaction of customers seems not to be exactly top priority. I am sorry, but I do not feel my money is well spent here. Good luck anyway, and never mind....
Bournville Lane Fish Bar – StirchleyThis shop is excellent!!!!! I went there, and after the long but entertaining queue, I was served by such wonderful staff, who were laughing and joking, and providing the banter like you used to get at chip shops. I ordered fish and chips, which the fish was HUGE and enjoyed every bite!!! the fish was delicious and so soft and mouth watering. The food was A1, and i agree with the Birmingham Mails coverage of the shop in its four star ratings- but i will give them 5 stars. Thanks alot, and i will be back again and again!!!
Broad Lane Chippy The – Kings HeathLovely grown up atmosphere, bar area if you're just drinking or a nice waiting area pre lunch or dinner. Lovely bistro/modern/traditional food with a twist. Reasonably priced. Staff know what they're doing and make you feel at home. The only place of it's kind in Walsall for young professionals to socialise and mingle. Definitely a diamond in the rough !
Arbor Lights – WalsallExcellent place, very affordable and food was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were very attentive throughout will def be coming here more often, have also since visited several other branches the one by the canal is great to sit outside on a nice day.
Pizza Express – Birmingham City Centrelove this place, somewhere to go and have a nice relaxing coffee on my break and i can also use my Internet for FREE!!!
Saint Caffe – Birmingham City CentreFull of npower & British Gas staff on a Friday lunchtime. If you have a dispute with your bill....go there !! LOL Drinks are pricey but good deals on the food.
One and Two Halves The – Oldburythis chippy is the best i don't go to any other one the service is excellent and its so warm and friendly I would recommend it to anyone AND everyone everything is always cooked to the highest standard.go and eat there you will see and won't be disappointed
Bournville Lane Fish Bar – StirchleyService is still excellent here. Food is top notch, and prices are very good. I would still say the top Chinese Buffet in West Midlands overall.
Wok’s Hall – SolihullBedders is famous throughout the world and has been my first choice for 40 years. My daughter was making a television film in New York. An American on the crew asked her where she was from. When she said Birmingham he asked her whether she knew Bedders. Naturally her reply was "of course, who doesn't" !!
