Shabar Brasserie – Sheldonnot too bad but found the lamb curry sweet tasting..would try something else though. satisfactory
Yew Tree Cottage – Yardleyonly had a take away..no complaints...
Poplar Balti and Tandoori Restaurant – Balti Trianglequite good. pricey due to location...
Koh-I-Noor – Birmingham City CentreWent on Saturday night to the watan was busy as always but people were actually queuing lucky we had a table reserved(so no waiting for us ha ha ha) service was excellent food was absolutely out of this world just love going there an the owners good looking son imran following his fathers footsteps an checking on all the customers while his fathers away on holiday an making sure everyone enjoys there visit to the Watan. I have tried so many restaurants but nothing could beat the quality in this place its the home to balti's
Royal Watan – Selly Oakgot to akrams an was approached by a waiter who sat us on our table an then kept us waiting for our poppadoms which were soggy an not crispy came with a pickle tray with the mango chutney section having a poppadom crumb in there where did that come from I wonder told the waiter who changed it like a speeding bullet an brought back the same tray taking out the crumb OMG. Ordered a chicken tikka biryani the sauce was soggy with a little bit of canned vegetables in there, the biryani was rice which had been dipped in a bucket of oil, the balti chicken mushroom was decent but was not one of the best ones iv ever had the pilau rice was definitely not freshly made like I was told more like micro waved as the plate was hot all the way round it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work this out the peshwari naan was ok an when I asked for the bill an looked at the bill I was charged for a pickle tray which I did not even order!! When I argued with this to the old fag behind the counter he said it was a rule which I asked for the terms an conditions for all the rules an he got confused illiterate F**K when some fat bloke assuming it was his son intervened he said no matter which restaurant I go to the money will go in his pocket I don't know where the hell he came out with that from claiming his a major share holder in all the restaurants what a load off B*****KS an the amazing fact is when 3 other customers checked there bill they found this to be a fact as well will never go again will never ever ever ever go back to this S**T HOLE again rather travel the extra miles an go to yassers or royal watan, balti cottage better then this crap place
Akrams Kashmiri – Stirchleywe tried the taster set menu as we are not well versed in thai cuisine. the food was very good and has made us want to return.
Thai Village – KnowleWe Have been going to this restaurant for many years the kids have grown up in this place an have moved on an they now come with there kids BUT the food still has not changed. With the recent refurbishment which has made the restaurant more contemporary an given that excellent atmosphere to. And with the additional Rose for the ladies at the end of the meal an lollypops for the kids make you wonder why we keep coming back over an over Excellent Work Mr Ditta
Royal Watan – Selly OakThis certainly has to be something different, certainly different compared to your "usual Indian". I have had a different dish each time since discovering this place and enjoyed it each time. So far I have had Samosa Chaat, Masala Dhosa to mention a few Certainly worth a shot next time you are in Star City. I am so surprised at this place, they make everything in front of you, in their open kitchen.
Shobhas – Erdingtonbrilliant hotel, especially the restaurant; food , staff all excellent. food tasted superb. very friendly and helpful waiting staff. i recommend this place to anyone looking for a special moments.
Nuthurst Grange Country House Hotel – Solihulli loved the food it was brill i would defo go back again the service was really good too although it was really busy everyone had there meal bought to the table very quickly. The staff was also very polite an cheerful this restaurant is truly the best I've ever tasted!!!can't wait till i will be revisiting again x
India Garden – Erdingtonthe food was very nice by the time i got home it was still nice and warm it's the best cafe I've ever eaten in so far i would definitely give over the five mark.
Do Drop-In The – ErdingtonThis licenced restaurant is very well decorated in a modern design but suitable for all tastes and ages. The food is excellent along with the service and the staff are very pleasant. The only disappointment is the car park, it is quite small but that can always be overcome. Each time i have been there it has been fairly early but it does liven up later on about 8 - 8.30pm.. I can recommend this restaurant.
Sweet Chillies – MoseleyBest Food in Kings Heath staff was very good very clean shop i have tried the rest but now i have tried the best oceanna No 1 hands down 2007
Oceanna – Kings HeathIt was excellent, as usual. Great food; friendly service; comfortable surroundings. What more can one ask? Best wishes, Colin.
Alfrash – Balti Triangledisappointed as last time i went a couple of years ago i seem to recall fonder memories. What really was so horrible was about 10 fruit flies in my sangria.Put me off the drink for life i think!!
La Tasca – SolihullWe have always received consistently good food here, whatever you choose from the varied menu. The owner is often present checking that all customers are happy. Give it a go - you will not be disappointed.
Locanta – Birmingham City CentreThe Warehouse is a gem of a restaurant with a cafe atmosphere. Its tucked away yet only 5 mins from Moor Street station. Next to the One Earth vegan shop. Food is very fresh and tasty, all veggie with 80% being vegan, very good value for money, friendly staff and the meals are presented very well. From snacks such as salads, soups and toasties and tasty falafel to main meals burgers, curries and more unusual dishes then there is a great selection of cakes the choc fudge cake is very good. Fantastic choice for vegans. There are often special evenings like mexican and japenese nights - the chefs are all very talented and all have their special ideas/skills. Sat lunchtimes can get busy between 12-2 but you can book to ensure a table. Its my favourite place to eat in Birmingham due to the great quality and price and atmosphere and the huge vegan choice!
