Six of us ate at Alma de Cuba last Saturday night and had a fantastic time. I had been before but the other two couples we were with hadn't and as our table wasn't ready we were able to go into the bar for a drink first. This certainly has the WOW factor, architecturally it's awesome. When our table was ready we were led to our table upstairs - again WOW. The menu had a great choice, the food was fantastic albeit slightly hot (the ribs) and the service was A1. The only disappointment was the dancers which could have been better dressed (the male) and more varied. However we all had a brilliant night out, and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal out in Liverpool.
Alma De Cuba – Liverpool City CentreWe have been back again and again. Their tea time main course offer is fantastic value. The atmosphere is great.
The Fat Italian – CrosbyEtsu is an amazing restaurant with great service and excellent dishes prepared lovingly by the chef. It's not a big place, so a reservation is definitely necessary for weekend dining. Nice selection of vegetarian options and the Sake is delicious.
Etsu – Liverpool City Centrenever fails to impress good clean food, healthy and fresh...love it one of my fav places to eat..
Kimos – Liverpool City CentreBooked Mayur after reading the reviews on Sugarvine. Unfortunately the restaurant did not live up to expectations whatsoever. We went on a busy Saturday night after booking it some weeks ago for my sons 21st birthday. Food and service were average. What was most disappointing was the attitude of the staff who just wanted to free up the table so they could get the next customer in. I pointed out to the Manager that we had booked Mayur for a special celebration and that we were not told at any point that we would be under time pressure to vacate our table, if we had been told we simply wouldn't have gone there in the first place. He just would not let up and was so unprofessional it beggars belief. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING! Do yourself a favour and try the Sultans Palace.
Mayur – Liverpool City CentreExcellent food Excellent service Great Host
Master McGraths – SouthportJust about the top bar in the Wirral - good food, good music, lovely barstaff and waiting-on staff.... Smashing decor and a divine Mediterranean type garden at the back. What more could you want?
Hilltop – West KirbyWe have eaten on several occasions at Cafe Sekander, and have always found the menu interesting with a massive choice of meals. They also let you bring in your own wine and beer for a small corkage charge, this helps to keep the bill very reasonable. I have no hesitation in going back there time after time.
Cafe Sekander – Mossley HillWent to Tapas Tapas before seeing a film at FACT. I've always been sadly disappointed with UK attempts at Tapas. I have to say I was much more than pleasantly surprised. To say we left a £10 tip gives an idea of how highly we rated the food, the staff and the ambience. Will be back for sure.
Tapas Tapas – WaterlooBeen twice first time May 2009 and second visit 12/02/10. Sadly it was disappointing. Service was excellent and can't be faulted. Sadly my main which was the cod was extremely salty to which I did have to send back. This was knocked of the bill and was able to have the meal again or desert for free. Which I did take up the offer of the desert. The menu is slightly strange but I'm not a professional. The decor is also strange, set in an old church with palm trees to set the cuban feel to the place, however, the lights were deers or somesort of kill, and this was also on the wall, again perhaps it's just me but it didn't match the cuban feel more Gothic?? Also only one toilet for males and females so quite a wait on occasions!!! The dancers although good did get people up dancing, but this just seemed a little cheesy for me. Sadly won't be going ever again.
Alma De Cuba – Liverpool City Centrefriends of mine ate here the other week spent £400 celebrating a birthday . They took some champagne along and they asked how much for corkage ? they were told £ 15 per bottle !
The Fat Italian – CrosbySuperb. Been a few times now and never been disappointed. Food service etc-superb
Cafe Sekander – Mossley HillThis is the friendliest bar on the Wirral. Kate and Phil are a lovely couple who make everyone welcome. Haven't eaten here yet but their wine is really good and it's very reasonably priced - under £4 for a large Sauvignon Blanc!
Vanilla Lounge – HoylakeI went to Ruis for a friends birthday and leaving do' the food was fantastic and good value for money too. would definitely recommend for small group of people or just you and your other half xx
Ruis – BootleI've dined at The Collingwood several times and I always find the food great. They have a nice friendly atmosphere, good service and comfy decor. Highly recommended.
Hilltop – West KirbyI love this place! It is the most stylish bar and restaurant in the area and has a great patio and garden too. All the staff are very friendly are especially adept at making great cocktails. I always have a good night out there.
Hilltop – West KirbyWas brilliant but now crap small amounts different staff sent wrong food twice quality now poor
