Edwards – WaterlooWe went on recommendations from friends and relatives and were not disappointed. The first time was for our wedding anniversary on 16th July 2009. we took our 2 children due to lack of babysitters and they both loved it (aged 10 and 13). The food was superb-lamb kebab with tahini sauce is to die for! Even the chips were fab with my very discerning 10 year old stating they were the most delicious he had ever tasted! When we were leaving we mentioned it was our anniversary and got told off by the waitress for not letting her know before! We were promptly offered a drink of our choice on the house. We were back a week later with a group of friends and this time we chose off the set menu-superb value at £12.95-with plenty of choice. We also go free wine because we had spent over £30. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anybody-indeed I intend going again with work colleagues in the very near future. 10 out of 10
Greek Taverna – WaterlooThe best pub food in Liverpool. Everything is "home made" on the premises, even REAL chips. Favorites of our family include slow cooked ham shank, fish and chips, cottage pie and even the chicken curry. Good real ale too, heaven. Prices are pretty good too.
The White Horse – WooltonGood food at great prices, particularly the early evening banquet. Our favorite local restaurant, the ribs and the sweet and sour are superb.
Ying Wah Restaurant – WooltonJust home from very disappointing evening at Bistro Jacques. We have eaten here several times before. Tonight was a family meal for my daughters birthday, her meal of duck breast was tough, overcooked and inedible, even after letting the waitress know this nothing was done in any was to recompense for this, spoilt our evening, and I doubt I would be in a hurry to .this restaurant again
Bistro Jacques – Liverpool City CentreKimos on Myrtle Street review: Stay away from here. We went here for a meal and got bugged and literally assaulted by an old crazy man who was completely out of order. The staff member said he was a regular. She did tell the guy to leave us alone as we were upset. But I dont understand why they let him in when he bugs customers. If they let that happen, I dont want to think what they let happen in the kitchen. Kimos on Mount Pleasnant: Food average. And when we said "excuse me" to the waitress she flicked her hand. Very rude. I eat out a lot, pretty much everyday and will not be dining at any of these restaurants again and suggest you go elsewhere also.
Kimos – Liverpool City CentreMy family is originally from Liverpool, but now live in York, Manchester and North Wales. However, as often as we can, we return home specifically to visit Othellos, truly the BEST Greek restaurant we've ever come across. The food is fantastic, so fresh and authentic. And the venue, staff and atmosphere is excellent too. You won't be disappointed, I can assure you.
Othellos – WooltonWe celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant on Saturday night, I had the Whole Sardines and the Seabass, the wife had Brie and Greek Chicken, all cooked and served to a high standard they also have a great selection of wines, the staff were so welcoming and pleasant, we will be returning very soon.
Ella Grill – Birkenheadrestaurant decor fantastic, wish I could say the same for the food,we have been to this restaurant a quite a few times now , the food is a bit hit and miss, the music far too loud ,when I asked for it to be turned down , they refused, so they have lost not only our custom but that of our friends.
The Fat Italian – CrosbyI have visited this restaurant quite a few times now and it never disappoints. Went again last Fri with 4 of my friends and they all loved it.. can't fault anything - food is gorgeous, service is second to none and the whole feel of it is so authentic you really think you are in Spain. Thoroughly recommend it!
Tapas Tapas – WaterlooWhat a great little restaurant. The food is amazing and the portions are excellent. The service was spot on. We went in a couple of weeks ago and met the manager, very polite young man who went out of his way to make sure our night was perfect. 10 out 0f 10 without a doubt. We look forward to returning soon!!
Que Pasa Cantina – AigburthThis is the best Indian Restaurant I have ever eaten at. The food is delicious! Every person I have recommended it to has fallen in love with the place. An experience at Mayur is never disappointing!!
Mayur – Liverpool City CentreI lunch at 107 every week with a group of friends and in the 2 or 3 years we have been doing this, I have yet to have a bad experience. The service is excellent - all the staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu is changed on a regular basis and the chef's are innovative and always willing to accommodate our wishes. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Oh Yes! the food is absolutely great as well.
107 Dining Room – HeswallMy partner and I took 2 first time visitors to Liverpool to the shangrila last night and have never had such appalling service in all our lives. We were so embarrassed by the rudeness of one waitress in particular that we left the restaurant after our starter. She had an air of contempt about her and treated us as though we were a group of drunken louts.I am sure that they do encounter drunken diners late at night but we certainly were not.In fact 2 of us had not had a drink all night and were drinking coke.We were charged £12 for 2 soups and 2 cokes. The bill was virtually thrown at us,even though we had not finished our drinks or requested the bill. They also stated that there was a minimal order of £10,which was not documented anywhere, which we were informed by one of our guests, who was a police officer,is actually illegal.I can honestly say that we have never been barked at so disgustingly by a waitress before and would never return to the restaurant again.Avoid this restaurant if you wish to be treated with a pleasant attitude.Cannot comment on the food as we were too shocked to notice what it was like.
Shangrila Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreHad another meal last night (Thursday) Cooked by (Im told) Michael Wichmann and Michael Abrahams. Best meal I have ever had. Shame neither Ian nor David were on hand so I could tell them how good it was!!!
Pioneer Bar and Brasserie – CrosbyTried this restaurant on moving to Wallasey as it came highly recommended. I was bitterly disappointed. the food was bland (I know...) very oily and seemed poor for the expensive price tag. Struggling to find a decent local Indian takeaway, I gave it a try again about 6 months later and it was worse! The pakoras were undercooked and filled with uncooked batter. the chicken tikka was raw in the middle and the vegetables in the meal were obviously straight out of a frozen mixed veg bag from Iceland. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!
