Dive NQ – Northern QuarterIt has been tempting and we wanted to go borrello and try it out, specially after we found out its the same chef who used to work at linguine, so we pay them a visit last week, the place is nicely decorated and good set up. Ordered drink good choice and priced reasonably, followed by starter we had ribs and garlic bread special, we end up having the garlic bread as the ribs was to hard to chew, we didn't make a fuss at the time, we asked for main course i had fillet steak (blue) AS ALWAYS and my partner asked for salted-crust sea bass but strangely end up with sea bass grill. Firstly my steak was more like well done and the fish was left with bones. then i ask the waiter who couldn't speak english at all, he went and this rude waitress come to our table with no manner and when i did inform her with my steak is over cooked she said this is what you order and thats what you get!! We couldn't wait to get out that place they couldn't even get one thing right we asked for the bill we paid and left immediately. Then only when we went to linguine this week and told them how bad things were there at the new place then we been told its nothing to do with linguine and the chef been sacked! Well no wonder!!
Borrello – SaleVery poor service over the phone. unfriendly tone, i called on Friday afternoon to reserve a table she said they fully booked, however we walked past at 7ish it was more or less empty so we walked in and got a table when we asked the waiter who took our drink order why couldn't they reserve a table earlier he were more confused then we were! We've a lady's night out ones a week or fortnight, this place has been our new spot since its open. We realise they've new staff and the two younger waiter has left, the atmosphere isn't the same and just didn't feel welcomed from the moment we walked in specially after the phone call. its a shame what has happen to this place, we've been very supportive and told alot of our friends and family but as we made it clear and told the waitress we wont be back because we had bad experience she didn't look like she care, bad attitude very disappointing.
Borrello – SaleWe visited here again on Saturday night after returning from our holiday and been there few time with friends and family since it's open and it has been our favourite new Italian restaurant. But Unfortunately its not the same, staff on front desk were not particularly warming, then she gave us a table by the rest room we asked if we could've different table she replied with unpleasant way they fully booked, when sadly the restaurant was half empty on Saturday night! we were quite shocked by the sudden changes this restaurant used be full and couldn't get a table easily On Friday or Saturday night unless you book weeks before. It used to be one of the best in Manchester, they'd best quality food friendly staff who deliver best service from walk-in to walk-out and best atmosphere through the night. Then we ordered drinks was served by an older waiter who we know from before he wasn't quite happy with things over all himself or looked under pressure but looked like he was just doing his job, then we ordered starter it was good as usual, but we'd to wait 40minute for main course and when it arrived on our table it was so cold it never felt liked freshly cooked, however we made a complain then they took the food to warm up, it took another 15minute!!the service was awful the food made it worse!! The whole event was nightmare, I'm afraid we won't be back anytime soon and will spread the most regrettable night around to friends and family. I hope a quick fix up over all best of luck.
