Mint Bar & Grill – ChorltonI am not too sure I should write this as I like being able to get a seat in a medium sized hostelry. However, since the new owners moved in just over a year ago The Parlour is surely the best place to drink and enjoy excellent food in Chorlton. A constantly changing selection of excellently kept real ales, a good choice of bottled beers and wines, great coffee. Locally soured, well prepared fresh food (good nibbles as well!). Great "Sophisticated Pub"atmosphere (card games, wonderful jukebox - free). Very well trained staff who provide excellent service. Who could ask for more ?
The Parlour – ChorltonTo be honest, the pub is soulless, full of 30-40 somethings, full of themselves, with kids and grand parents in tow. The food is mediocre, the real ale not very well kept and the service poor
Horse and Jockey – ChorltonThe Orange Tree has to be my favourite "little" restaurant. It offers great, tasty, authentic food, served in a friendly traditional atmosphere. The staff are great and always have welcoming The Orange Tree bows La Tasca out of the water!
The Orange Tree Tapas – AudenshawAmazing altogether amazing food and staff were very friendly
Jai Kathmandu – NorthendenAs is always the case in Manchester, one is spoilt for choice when dining out..... no longer for myself and my beautiful partner Yvonne. Until I have sampled every dish on offer here at Rosso, I shall be eating nowhere else, hahaha. Having been raised in a small fishing town I often like to compare seafood all around the country and the 'Mistro di mare alla griglia' platter for two (or more) is in a league of it's own.... the only complaint I have is that after this gargantuan dish, we had no room left for pudding..... Yvonne being so tiny meant that even with my huge appetite, this dish could easily have satisfied 4 people. Full of good cheer and plumtiousness, it was a good couple of hours before we felt safe to hit the dancefloors, hahahaha. If you like your food served in big portions by attentive staff and no skimping on quality then get your soon to be huge butts into Rosso's..... 10/10, keep it up ;~)
Rosso – Manchester City CentreMy husband and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary at Sotto Vento on 3rd September 2011. We had planned the evening there as we had enjoyed the food immensely on our previous visits. We arrived a good few minutes early and were seated in the bar area, the hostess was very friendly. Once seated, a waiter came to take our order and told us that some good friends of ours had rung the restaurant and arranged with them for us to be able to order drinks on them to celebrate our anniversary, which made our evening even more special. The food was superb, the service was excellent and the evening was a total success. Can't wait to book another evening there!
Sottovento – BoltonIf you're in the city during lunch time or evening, you're hungry and you want a quick tasty 4 course meal then this is the place. This a hugely popular buffet restaurant that serves a huge array of tasty food from 3 soups, lots of starters and main courses with rice and noodle dishes. A large salad bar with cakes and fruit for dessert. £6.50 lunch for all you can eat. really good. go try it. you'll thank me for it.
Buffet City – Manchester City Centredon't go !!!!! it looked good from the outside so i asked my family if they fancied it anyway 8 of us went and to cut it short . The meat on the Sunday roast was pressed and the rest of the Sunday lunch wasn't up to much also they didn't have any apple sauce to go with the pork......my husband had gammon but they had no pineapple as advertised. also the gammon was like shoe leather one of us had breaded garlic mushrooms but they had no garlic dip so they gave him salad cream and there was only two deserts to choose from..........anyway overall it was cheap and they say you get what you pay for and we felt robbed ,,,,,,,,it was crap
Jolly Carter – EcclesThis restaurant may look small on the outside but inside the welcome is big the service splendid and the food great .I have been here many times and never been disappointed .Cheers
Spice Garden – RamsbottomWe visited Sottovento this weekend for the first time since it changed hands. We were disappointed. The food was average (I could have prepared food of a similar standard at home). When I go out for a meal and pay £14/£15 for a main course I expect it to be of a higher standard. The starters were slow to arrive (maybe in the hope we would drink more wine) and although they were hot they were nothing special. My husband had sirloin steak next and it looked more like a thin frying steak. It certainly wasn't sirloin, and was tough. My sea bass was also a let down and tasted more of the sauce than the fresh fish I was expecting. Service was slow all night although not awful. The only positive was the pudding (sticky toffee) and the owner/manager was very pleasant and welcoming. The only reason we didn't complain was because we were treated to the meal by a relative and we didn't want to offend. We will eat at the Milan next time - food is of a far higher quality.
Sottovento – Boltonenjoyed the Indian/Chinese buffet here last night. would suggest, if they read this - forget the Chinese aspect. there were only 4 dishes, they were nice, but there's already a huge Chinese buffet in town. i would have preferred 4 more lovely Indian dishes. I'd also say the food was very oily. Delicious though, nicely spiced, good drink selection (non alcoholic) and nice surroundings
Dhanak Deira – BoltonWe visited Pacifica yesterday after seeing it recommended on Sugarvine. The furnishings and decor are very contemporary adding to the relaxed atmosphere, the menu is extensive and varied with great emphasis put on the modern twist to the dishes and the food? Absolutely fantastic quality. We opted for the Banquet B at £25 each for Pacifica hors d'oeuvres, crispy duck with all the trimmings, fillet steak, crispy fried chicken and Sichuan seafood. Apart from a few pieces of overcooked calamari everything was tender and very tasty. One small quibble though - it would be nice to have some smiles from the staff during the meal rather than just on arrival and when paying the bill and leaving. Smiles don't cost anything but they certainly add a lot towards a memorable meal
Pacifica Cantonese – Ecclesi think this is the best Mediterranean food in the whole of Manchester. I like this type of food it's healthy and delicious. it's definitely worth trying.
Sultan Restaurant – Didsburyreally spot on chippy...go a long way to find one as good...dining in tonight for tea...fish and chips brill
Village Chippy – RamsbottomWedding Venue a must !! Attention to detail and everything better than first class. I would definitely recommend Nutters for your wedding venue. Excellent food , service and staff were brilliant. Andrew and Rodney - you did my daughter proud !!
