JAS JAS JAS – CheadleVisited the Stable Gate Denton and there was an advertisement on the wall showing 2 bottles of wine, (one rose and one white) which stated buy 2 glasses of wine get the rest of the bottle free. When I told the management that I had already purchased 3 glasses of wine and a further bottle I was told this promotion was for rose only. I do feel that this should be advertised clearly and it was not. We attend the Stable Gate on a regular basis.
Stable Gate Brewers Fayre – Audenshawgreat night, lovely service. will go again :)
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreVisited Eastzeast (Princess St) on Sat 10/9 and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Restaurant full so was glad i'd booked a table. Staff very pleasant, food exceptional, and most of all including drink, very reasonable. Have tried the Preston restaurant before, the food here better. Recommended.
East z East – Manchester City CentreWe have often passed this restaurant but never been in until 3 weeks ago. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the excellent service and atmosphere that went with it. Definitely be my number one choice for Italian food, in fact I'm planning on trying the Sunday menu this week.
Francos – WiganI visited La Lupa with my husband recently and had a fantastic evening - great wine, fabulous Italian food and lovely staff. We'll definitely be returning - I may have found my new favourite restaurant.
La Lupa – StalybridgeI went to La Salsa Horwich last night (10/09/2011) with some friends (4 dining all together) we had a table booked for 20:30hrs and arrived about 5 minutes before we were seated right away I must say that the table was squashed into a corner giving us very little room to sit, now I’m not the smallest of people and with the people on the other table sitting so close it was uncomfortable, (luckily the other table left after about 30 minutes, so we could spread out more). As usual they wanted to take our drinks order as soon as we sat down (something which seems to be happening more and more in restaurants these days) I put them off for 5 minutes but they were back in about 3 minutes. We ordered our drinks only to be informed when the beer arrived that the wine we wanted was unavailable (something I really think the waiting staff should have known). My biggest grip with this restaurant is that it is very dark and you do find yourself reading the menu by candlelight also the background music did not appear to changed during the time we were in there (we didn't leave until after 12pm, it was Julio Iglesias and as much as I like him you do get fed up after the 3rd run though of his greatest hits). The food as normal was very good and fresh but I ordered the chorizo in red wine three times and it was not until the third time when I had to ask the waiter for it did it arrive, we normally order about 4 dishes each but I not all arrive (we ordered 3 portions of No 35, the fish in batter at the first order but only 2 arrived) I would normally complain but to be honest there was enough to eat and you just order again next time. We had more than enough food and plenty of beer and wine and the bill came to £106 for the 4 of us which was very good. It was also helped by being with very good friends so a good night was had by all. It’s definitely a place I will be returning too.
La Salsa – HorwichThis place is okay, average I would say. There is nothing special with it, but nothing wrong either. We had a pleasant meal, again it was ok but not spectacular. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Sadly, the cutlery and a couple of glasses were dirty (food stuck to the forks and lipstick on the glasses). A little more attention to detail would avoid this. Even worse, they completely forgot to bring one of our meals, then after saying it would be 2 or 3 minutes, the staff avoided our table for over 20 minutes. The rest of our party had finished eating before the missing meal appeared. Not good. All in all, I would say this place is okay if it is local to you and you want somewhere close by to go for a meal. I wouldn't recommend it as special and it's not worth a long trip to get there.
Due Amici – WorsleyRead other reviews and can't understand anything negative about this superb little restaurant, food ,prices and staff absolutely spot on, best night for us in a long long time, will visit again soon if only for the banter with Michelle. Would recommend to all to sample for themselves
La Salsa – HorwichWe visited this restaurant and can only give it fantastic scores for service, promptness, food, cleanliness, decor and nice wines. It's in a lovely setting and deserves to be a success. My companion who does not even like Italian restaurants said his sirloin steak diane was "lovely" and gave the food 9/10. I had veal with marsala sauce which was equally nice and deserving of 9/10. These were served with potatoes and vegetables, the broccoli being green not yellow as in some establishments. The decor is lovely but not overdone. You would feel equally at home if you had got dressed up for a meal but not embarrassed if you had not. We dined at 6pm and this restaurant very quickly got more diners, with lots of reservations for the night. It's in a lovely setting on the edge of the moors. The service was faultless, what more can you ask for?
Ciao Baby – BoltonTried it couple of weeks back and to be honest did not have great expectations on the food side. Was really impressed though and this is one of the best curries I've had for a long time (including in Rusholme!). Flavour and quality was excellent on the four dishes our party ordered and the service was really good. Will definitely go again.
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – AltrinchamWe now have a new chef and new stockist. we are sorry that you a had a bad experience with us but we are customer focused and if you are willing to give us another try you wont be disappointed.
Mint Bar & Grill – ChorltonI am not too sure I should write this as I like being able to get a seat in a medium sized hostelry. However, since the new owners moved in just over a year ago The Parlour is surely the best place to drink and enjoy excellent food in Chorlton. A constantly changing selection of excellently kept real ales, a good choice of bottled beers and wines, great coffee. Locally soured, well prepared fresh food (good nibbles as well!). Great "Sophisticated Pub"atmosphere (card games, wonderful jukebox - free). Very well trained staff who provide excellent service. Who could ask for more ?
The Parlour – ChorltonTo be honest, the pub is soulless, full of 30-40 somethings, full of themselves, with kids and grand parents in tow. The food is mediocre, the real ale not very well kept and the service poor
Horse and Jockey – ChorltonThe Orange Tree has to be my favourite "little" restaurant. It offers great, tasty, authentic food, served in a friendly traditional atmosphere. The staff are great and always have welcoming The Orange Tree bows La Tasca out of the water!
The Orange Tree Tapas – AudenshawAmazing altogether amazing food and staff were very friendly
Jai Kathmandu – NorthendenAs is always the case in Manchester, one is spoilt for choice when dining out..... no longer for myself and my beautiful partner Yvonne. Until I have sampled every dish on offer here at Rosso, I shall be eating nowhere else, hahaha. Having been raised in a small fishing town I often like to compare seafood all around the country and the 'Mistro di mare alla griglia' platter for two (or more) is in a league of it's own.... the only complaint I have is that after this gargantuan dish, we had no room left for pudding..... Yvonne being so tiny meant that even with my huge appetite, this dish could easily have satisfied 4 people. Full of good cheer and plumtiousness, it was a good couple of hours before we felt safe to hit the dancefloors, hahahaha. If you like your food served in big portions by attentive staff and no skimping on quality then get your soon to be huge butts into Rosso's..... 10/10, keep it up ;~)
Rosso – Manchester City CentreMy husband and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary at Sotto Vento on 3rd September 2011. We had planned the evening there as we had enjoyed the food immensely on our previous visits. We arrived a good few minutes early and were seated in the bar area, the hostess was very friendly. Once seated, a waiter came to take our order and told us that some good friends of ours had rung the restaurant and arranged with them for us to be able to order drinks on them to celebrate our anniversary, which made our evening even more special. The food was superb, the service was excellent and the evening was a total success. Can't wait to book another evening there!
