Tai Pan Restaurant – Rusholmeexcellent food, very friendly people, LOVE IT!!...oh and yummy home made scones!
Hindley Cafe – WiganThis is a great little cafe! Very friendly and welcoming with fantastic home cooked food - just what you want on a chilly damp day! Well worth a visit.
Hindley Cafe – Wiganwent to Pesto on Friday evening as was surprised at the menu as was expecting a traditional Italian Menu .... a nice change to have a choice from what was an Italian Tapas menu Staff were really friendly and the food was very nice .... not the usual Italian but excellent if you want something quick but not the traditional 'fast food' that is on offer elsewhere
Pesto – Trafford CentreJust got back from the swinging bridge, served by Lindsey. Was a lovely meal, Lindsey was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff at the swinging bridge are friendly and as soon as we walked through the door we were greeted by a friendly face. You were right Lindsey the fish was gorgeous! Thank You for everything!
Swinging Bridge, The – UrmstonWe have just returned from an evening out at The Chetham Arms.We had a great evening. The menu and specials board offered a good selection of food to suit all tastes. The dining area in the restaurant was excellent ,you still felt you were in a restaurant but you had your own private dining space. The food was British food at its best.,The personal service was friendly yet professional and we will visit again.well worth a visit!!!
The Chetham Arms – Boltonfantastic the best curry in Manchester and the veggie dishes are exceptional .
New Himalaya – LevenshulmeHaving worked in catering for over 15 years the first thing that came to mind when arriving a Nutters was, How does a place as big as this, survive a massive credit crunch ? The answer is simple, it’s Very Very Good. As you arrive at the impressive building you will notice the private reg of Andrew Nutter’s car, parked around the side of the restaurant. A good sign as it is rare to find the chef actually cooking in the restaurant of his name nowadays. Believe me I know, I worked for Heathcote for 2 years and the only time I saw him in the kitchen was when a camera was around. When you walk inside Nutters, you are instantly greeted with a warm and friendly welcome and ushered to the slick looking lounge for drinks. We had booked on the Gourmet Menu and we were a little worried because my wife is pregnant and we thought we would have to explain what she could and could not eat. Our worry was short lived. A waiter came over to confirm we would still like the gourmet menu, we were asked is there anything you don't like or have allergies to. Just as I was about to launch into a massive list, my wife mentioned that she was pregnant. The waiter simply smiled and said with such confidence that this was not a problem. I knew straight away that there was no need for my silly list. Within a moment we were presented with a Chicken Liver parfait and my wife smiled and said, “I'll just miss this course out,” but then seconds later a waitress arrived with an apology from "chef" because the parfait would not be suitable for my wife and presented her with her own personal canapés. Before we even moved to our table I was very impressed. As we didn't know what we were going to be eating we decided to opt for a simple Chablis to accompany our meal. My parents and I polished this off by the 3rd course and automatically asked for another. Just as our second bottle was about to be opened by Mr Nutter Snr himself, we asked if he could recommend us something different that would go with our next course, we told him what we liked and he recommended a Chilean Chardonnay that was actually cheaper than the Chablis we had been drinking. The wine recommendation was fantastic and it actually made a great meal even better. We will defiantly be going back to Nutter’s and I urge you to do the same. At a time when restaurants are cutting back, cutting corners and penny pinching, Nutter’s seem to be doing the opposite. Each course was delicious. The attention to detail is excellent even down to the quality of the coffee and homemade petit fours. There are plenty of very smart, very well trained staff to look after you, the atmosphere is unpretentious and relaxed. The best thing of all is the fact that the extremely talented Chef is actually in the kitchen behind the hot plate rather in front of a camera. In fact, If like me you work in catering, you need to get yourself to Nutter’s just to see how restaurants are done properly.
Nutters Restaurant – RochdaleA very nice place to dine. Myself and my wife want something different for our lunch one day and we said we will try Thai food. We never regret going there first time, second time and we still keep come back. We recommend it to our friends and they too enjoy it.
Nam Ploy – Boltonwent to the Orange Tree last weekend based on reviews we'd seen and the place lived up to it's reputation The place is small and friendly and the food amazing ... wonderful choice of steaks, fish dishes if you want to opt for a main meal but we opted for the Tapas menu (you can go anywhere and have a steak) and accompanied it with the most wonderful bottle of Rioja Crianze The desserts are just as nice and the whole meal was perfect and very very reasonably priced .... will certainly be going back again
The Orange Tree Tapas – Audenshawraj takeaway is the best place not just in Manchester but in the world. i have tried the rest but this is the one i love there chicken kebabs are out of this world they taste soooooo nice i cant explain and they do this curry meal deal for 1 please do try that because its well worth the price.
Raj Takeaway – Fallowfieldwent here for a family meal. i wasn't that happy with my steak as it went back twice and on the third go they got it perfect (rare). problem was everyone had finished so i had a family meal on my own. i was told by other family friends who had been before about the bad delivery and the food quality but we gave it ago. over all 6 out of 10.
Ancora – Oldhamvery nice place to eat. food perfect and great deal of 5 course for £10
Simla Inn Tandoori Restaurant – RoytonOne of my favourite restaurants in Manchester. I've been numerous times now and I plan to return again and again.
Chaophraya – Manchester City CentreVisited the restaurant at lunch time - this is one of our worst dining experiences EVER. My husband was treated to a stainless steel bolt in his risotto !! Not only was no apology given the staff treated us disrespectfully as if this was somehow our fault. It was disappointing at how Italian hospitality and customer service was so poor - it has however made interesting conversation with all our friends and colleagues.
San Carlo – Manchester City CentreBeen here twice. First time we waited 50 minutes for our meal only to send the T-bone steak back as it was inedible. Second time we ordered sea bass (menu said 2 fillets) and only one arrived; there were no strawberries as advertised with the cheesecake; and the banoffee pie looked more like eton mess. Also no spoons left - could we use a fork? Never again will we set foot in the place!
Wiggin Tree – WiganWe are always made welcome by friendly staff and the service is great. Lots of dishes to choose from and very tasty, all at very reasonable prices. We have taken lots of our friends there, including two from Germany, who don't have the chance to try this type of cuisine at home. Even my 90 year old father likes his Sunday visits .
Indian Plaza Restaurant, Bar and Takeaway – AudenshawI've been 3 times & enjoyed each time - service from Claire has been great. Lots of dishes to choose from at a very good price. The Pollo En Pimleto (chicken, paprika and cream) has become a favourite. The house wines are good & compliments the food. Their lunch time menu is great, especially if you're on a budget & they have special deals on Tues & Weds tea time. Night time + weekends gets very busy so booking is a must.
