Shanghai Palace Restaurant – WiganI have been to many restaurants and this rates very highly. For starters you have got to try Rani Chicken ( my family used to share various starters but as everyone used to go for this we all order it now) along with a helping of mahmocha (little dumplings with a spicy sauce). All the main meals are good! Nan bread is also fantastic,
Great Kathmandu – DidsburyAbsolutely superb food, would recommend to anyone. My no1 choice for a girlie meal out !
Bilash Balti House – Swintonwell we had heard that it was not what we had known and liked many times over the years , but we had not expected what we got the rudeness of the staff , the slow service , the food was up to the same standard , as we have enjoyed over the years , yet another great restaurant going down ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Yang Sing – Manchester City CentreA nice little old style restaurant. Friendly Staffs WONDERFUL HONG KONG ROAST i.e. Roast Duck, Char Sui (roast lean pork), Roast Crispy Belly Pork, Soya Chicken....and plenty other Cantonese dishes. Good Food quick service and real value for money...must go....
Happy Seasons Chinese Restaurant – Manchester City CentreMoon restaurant wilmslow rd m20...................absolutely fantastic....food and staff as well as the price. They even do a great take away. We have been going here for some time now and we would NOT go any where else..................5 star plus.
Moon Indian Restaurant – DidsburyI've been going to Deckers in Sale for a long time and never had a problem or sent food back. Today for the first time I called our waitress over and nicely explained that the rare rump steak I ordered was overcooked and not rare. She took it back and before I knew it the Manager was over with the plate shoving his fingers at the steak shouting 'how much more rarer can you get it' Absolutely appalling behaviour, telling me it was rare then the lighting wasn't good enough to tell where I was sat and then decided it was a medium rare I wanted if I wanted the plate swimming with blood. Well no they'd given me a medium with no blood at all. Apart from draw attention to me he spoilt my meal, spoilt my mood and spoke to me like I was piece of rubbish and a complete idiot. As a result I'll never set foot in the place again. Not the best way to treat customers and as I was so appalled I put a full complaint in to the owners. Perhaps they could send him to lessons to teach him some manners. I don't know how I stayed so calm.
The Boathouse Restaurant – SaleThe food at Lily's is great - completely different from the boring curries oozing in oil you get at virtually every other Indian restaurant in Manchester. It's more of a takeaway/cafe than a restaurant so don't go if you're planning a romantic date! But the food is worth the trip out - their speciality is street food like fried paneer and spicy potatoes, chaat, bhelpuri, dosas. Delicious.
Lily’s Vegetarian Indian Cuisine – Ashton Under LyneLovely evening spent here with good food, good wine and great company, loved the live music......will most definitely be returning!
The Grill On the Alley – Manchester City CentreThis restaurant has improved loads since our first visit. The service was very quick and organised. The food was brilliant and really tasty. it's worth a visit just for the masala dosa which is a meal in itself.
Sindhoor South Indian Restaurant – LevenshulmeThe best Chinese restaurant I have eaten in. Great service and great food. Looked after through out the meal and not rushed. Would recommend you visit Shanghai Palace, I will be going again!!
Shanghai Palace Restaurant – WiganVisited the White Room last night for a drink with my partner. We bought a bottle of wine and ended up having an unplanned meal. We were very impressed with the warm and pleasant atmosphere, happy bar staff, as well as the generous portions of food we ordered from the starter and main menu. I felt well and truly satisfied. The food was fresh, tasty and well presented. It was also lovely to have a selection of comfy chairs, bar stools and sofas to relax on. There was a good selection of music- new and old- I even recognised some vintage reggae music by a 'Lovers rock' singer-Carrol Thompson! which was playing in the background.Looking forward to visiting again -had an enjoyable evening.
The White Room – WhitefieldMy girlfriend and i ate here a few months ago, pre show.. We didn't want to leave in the end.. Great food, good service and nice wines.. The shared platters they do are very filling and very nice indeed. We'll be back here soon before we go to the real thing in July, Turkey itself.
Cafe Istanbul – Manchester City Centre"Ten minutes later, someone banged on my home door... bit too late for an apology from a rather angry and large man!" Had a look at the last review and was happy to order from a "local" company rather than dominoes. As cheap takeaway pizza goes, this was okay. Despite ordering from their "special offer menu" got charged for the full price. When I phoned to query and ask for a refund, told that it would be taken off our next order and that no refund was possible as they were "a company". Phoned for a second time, informed them that I had spoken to my bank and discussed raising a dispute, still refused a refund and subjected to an expletive response. Ten minutes later, someone banged on my home door... bit too late for an apology from a rather angry and large man! Needless to say I would not recommend this kind of "local". One angry "brother" was more than enough.
Due Fratelli – ChorltonI am happy to get takeaway from buraq, my bill was just over £20.00 and i got 2 papadon, onion, mango, mint sauce, 2 piece of onion bhaji and a bottle of beer and i got one lolly for my son and one lolly for my daughter. so i am very glad to get takeaway from buraq indian restaurant. i recommend everyone to go, if you think i am lying, go and check for your self. it is the best quality food aswell! container was full of the curry lots of meat and pinky pinky hot. so i am very glad. lots of thank to the owner.
Buraq – WiganWe went for mothers day, the lighting is poor it's so dark and cold in the restaurant. We asked for the heating to be turned up it was that cold. The service needs to be better organised and quicker as the waiting time between courses is too long and everyone's food arrives at different times. The food is lovely, we've been 3 times but the masala dosa which is the main feature on the menu can be a bit hit and miss!
Sindhoor South Indian Restaurant – LevenshulmeWonderful place, fantastic food, service very good, the surroundings are very Italian. A pleasure to visit...... typical friendly Italian hospitality.
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonCoffee OK, sandwiches nothing special. Parking difficult, off a very busy roundabout, and elderly may struggle to walk up the very steep hill. If its to eat in...much prefer The Retreat 1 minute away on Chorley New Road. If its to find something a bit different as an ingredient, its OK. But I'll stick to M and S for my parma ham thanks.
