Waggon Inn – SaddleworthI visited the Double Tree for the first time for my birthday on Saturday 28 April. I had heard good reports about it and I can say that none of it is hype or comments by employees. It's all true! It has genuinely quality Indian food. The best you would find outside India. They have some lovely touches on customer service too. On my list of favourite restaurants.
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – AltrinchamWe spent a lovely family evening at The Owls, we were a little apprehensive as we were taking my granddaughter who is in a wheelchair, we were looked after very well, the food was served very quickly, was piping hot, we weren't rushed The young girl behind the bar Danni was wonderful going out of her way to accommodate us and meet our needs,we were made welcome and felt very comfortable as was my grandchild who was having her 1st meal out since her accident. Thank you to all the staff at the owls, we will be visiting again,we cannot fault any part of the evening
The Owls At Standish – Wigani love pizza king order from them all the time, food very fresh and quick delivery xx
Pizza King – SwintonBeen going to Dimitris for years. Food is always good, but something has happened recently which has change the ambience. Went for dinner with two friends, one of whom is very poorly and wanted to treat her friends. Managed to get a table around 5pm on a Saturday evening, but were told the table was needed back by 6.30. When it came to 6.30 we were happy to move, however we still had food and drinks to finish. The waitress then offered us a table in the alley (which is very nice) However, after 15 minutes, the manager came over and demanded that table back. His behaviour was totally at odds with that of managers in reputable establishments. He positively aggressive and gave the impression that he is not up to the job. Not only was he bullying - he also encouraged other staff to gang up on us. Not sure this would have happened if we'd have had our husbands with us. Never come across anything like it. thought it was just us, but we have talked to someone else who had a similar experience at this restaurant. Take this in to consideration if you are planning a relaxing nights out with friends. Not a great way to end your evening.
Dimitri’s Tapas Bar Taverna – Manchester City CentreI've just been talking to my husband about the lovely meal we had at Zaytoon,Although it was a couple of weeks back I thought I must add a review as it was so good. The restaurant sits along side an eclectic mix of eateries, including a German, Spanish, Persian and Italian . We opted for iZaytoon and weren't disappointed. We had a Perfect Middle Eastern meal, even the salad accompanying the meal was crisp and tasty with a mint dressing. The choice is not very wide - but we think this helped ensure the high quality. The owner was a very nice guy too and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely go again. :-)
Zaytoon – ChorltonI have been going here for years and they serve the best fish and chips for many a mile. Friends I have brought here have loved the atmosphere and the quality of the food. My personal suggestion to any new visitors is go for the chips and delicious gravy.
Taylors – StockportGot stuck in traffic 3 weeks ago in Central Manchester, so I decided to do a 'De tour' through Fallowfield & show my teenage daughter Mum's old stomping ground 25yrs ago...AND there is was THE KOSMOZ...So did a nifty bit of parking right outside... It was like stepping back 25ys. It was fabulous, food, service & atmosphere just as I had remembered, so booked again, the trip from Warrington to Fallowfield is worth it... Thanks for another fab night last Friday... We took friends who loved it too... Thanks to all.. xx
Kosmos Taverna – FallowfieldEasy to find, parking plentiful, convivial bar seating, only a short time to wait for dining, able to add drinks in the bar to a common bill, pleasant service, very very hot food, cooked fine, salad varied and interesting, really very pleased indeed, the closing question - would we go back - YES, plenty of choice for another meal.
Tavern Fayre – BoltonBeen here many times and had take away food is amazing really tasty and lots to choose from, everything i have tried has been outstanding would recommend to every one, Staff are really nice an helpful, you can go down stairs for a few drinks after your meal great atmosphere. I would recommend sizzling weeping tiger.
Just Thai @ The Village – UrmstonWithout hesitation I can honestly say that this is the worst meal I have ever had when dining out. Whilst the staff, with the exception of the so called chef, were excellent, the food was inedible apart from the prawn crackers which accompanied our drinks. Our starters were not very hot, which could in part have been due to the over zealous air conditioning which was making the lighting sway from side to side. When the main courses arrived they resembled a microwave ready meal and a bowl of slops with half a hard boiled egg bobbing up and down in it. With the first mouthful we discovered that both dishes were cold. When this was brought to the attention of the staff we were offered alternative dishes but we had no inclination to extend our stay there as the early stages of hypothermia seemed to be upon us, so we asked for the manager instead, who was most apologetic and explained that they were having problems with the air con and stated that we would not be charged for our meals. A disappointing experience as the menu is both varied and unusual.
Tampopo – Trafford CentreAbsolutely 11/10! Service was personal, fun and attentive. The food was amazing and the staff made my birthday really special with lots of extras. Better than any other Manchester restaurant I have ever been to. Think I found my favourite!
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreWent to this restaurant on a Thursday evening.. definitely offers a little more special than others in Bury - as others have said more in line with Manchester establishments. Service was impeccable..We wee both delighted with our steaks ( a treat on a school night) matched with a lovely bottle of red..there is a good selection and we will be along for the wine tasting!
Santino Restaurant – BuryI’m glad the bollywood masala has opened near Hilton hotel. Everything we ordered was good and the dishes actually tasted different, really home made and service was very good, decor is extremely contemporary, spacious and comfortable. Even on a busy Saturday night I did not feel hemmed in.
Bollywood Masala – Manchester City CentreHaving dined here on the evening of 15th April, I would like to express my sheer disappointment with the entire experience. From the moment we set foot in the door, it was clear that organisation and level-headedness had descended into chaos and the inability to cope under pressure. We were informed that they were to be catering for a party of 17 people a short while after we were due to be seated. However, there were long delays in seating not only our party of 5, but also a further two families who arrived about the same time as us. The manager explained to us that the reason for this delay was due to the people already seated, who'd been there longer than the usual allotted 2.5 hours. I would like to add here that he apologised for our delay - something that, whilst redeemed him a little, proved to be pointless as he appeared to make no effort to hurry those people along. Finally, having taken our seats, he told us that he'd come for our order before he took that of the larger party. This meant we had to rush to choose something, only to wait almost an hour for it to arrive. By this time we were all extremely hungry. The food however, was lacking in taste, seeming quite bland; the yorkshire pudding - mainly the reason I chose the Sunday Lunch, looked burnt and was totally soggy from having sat in the lake of gravy on the plate; the vegetables also were very under seasoned. Altogether an unpleasant, distinctly average meal. To top this off, the entire restaurant was stifling - would it have harmed the staff to open some windows?? Having paid the bill, we did not even receive so much as a 'goodbye' as we walked out. Not somewhere I will be visiting again.
Waggon and Horses – StalybridgeAmazing, have been twice now and each time with a big group. The food is to die for, the flavours so fresh. The service is so friendly and the dedication that must go into each dish as they are all freshly prepared. Can not stop recommending this restaurant so wonderful. Be prepared to have an amazing taste experience if you visit this restaurant.
Sanmini’s – RamsbottomHaving travelled up from Kent to see my family, we booked a table for 14 people on 14/04/2012 at 9pm. We arrived early at 8.30pm and went upstairs for a drink, after several conversations with downstairs regarding our table we finally left at 10.30 and went to a local Indian. 5 star restaurant ? I DO NOT THINK SO.
Pacifica Cantonese – EcclesI have been to the owls many times in the past and have enjoyed it very much, on this occasion we booked in advance so we didn't have to wait to be seated. We arrived early and I went to the reception desk, the lady handed is the menus and we went to get drinks. Within five minutes of getting drinks our meal orders were taken and we were asked to follow the waitress to our table. We followed her through the beautiful restaurant and up the stairs when to my surprise we were shoved in the far corner of the upper floor next to the toilets and several stacks of chairs! We accepted our disappointing table and it wasn't long before our starters arrived. The food was lovely and after the starters the mains soon arrived! The table location aside, this was when the disappointment started. It was over half an hour after we had finished our main (which was very nice) that our plates were cleared away and we were presented with the dessert menu. Not only was the desert menu covered in bits of dried food, the waitress also informed us that two of the five or 6 choices were not available. After a ten minute wait our dessert order was taken and after a further ten minute wait it arrived, the apple crumble was very nice! We were given no indication as to whether the bill would be brought to the table or whether we needed to go to the reception desk so after another long wait with no sign of a waitress we decided to go and pay, we didn't complain about the service at the time as there was a queue and we didn't want to put off any of the customers waiting. I was just disappointed that I had taken some friends who had never been before and had assured them that the owls was a very good restaurant and sadly tonight it did not live up to expectations. Very disappointed!
