Standard Indian Restaurant – UrmstonI've been to this restaurant before & its class, my family also come with me (also to Sagar's- HQ @ Clayton Green) My disappointment is that after regularly visiting this restaurant & spending plenty of money for a high quality service, I'd just now booked a table of 8 for me & my family... The call was answered "yeah" I'd asked to book a table "wrong number mate" (with people screaming @ each other in the background!) He wasn't interested in what I had to say with his one word answers: yeah? what? when? bye! After 20mins thought, I've changed my mind & cancelled... Note to Cinnamon: LEARN SOME MANNERS, THEY'RE FREE OF CHARGE!
Cinnamon Indian Cuisine – WiganWe visited the Olive Garden on wed 8th oct. We choose from the new pizza and pasta menu. The food was excellent and good value for money at £4.50 the portions were huge. The waiter Aziz was very friendly we never has to wait long for our food. The head chef Roberto came out to see us when we had finished to check if we had enjoyed our food. Which we did you will definitely be seeing us again soon. Thank You for a great night.
Olive Garden – WiganWe went out this weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. The best surprise was when they gave a beautiful birthday cake to my friend. We ordered the banquet and it was delicious and tasty. I was so full after the meal. The service was top notch and also very friendly. Loved the restaurant it's got such a good atmosphere. I'll be back. Thank you
Sweet Mandarin – Northern QuarterThis really is my Special Restaurant, it's a wonderful retreat. Everything about the Nam Ploy experience is pure perfection.
Nam Ploy – BoltonWent in for a meal in the week early evening and the place wasn't very busy,i ordered from the so called a la carte menu and my partner had the carvery that seemed like great value but was obviously mostly frozen vegetables and bought in frozen Yorkshire puddings and the meat was rubbery like it had been microwaved, when advertised fresh local produce,i am sure there is a law about that somewhere? My main meal from the menu came,a steak, which was like leather and over cooked, after asking for it to be medium, also the table and carpets where quite dirty which didn't make me enjoy the meal too well,i would recommend NEW management as the service was slow .On my way out of the car park i saw who i thought was the manager stood outside the door of the kitchen with kitchen staff having a cigarette, now is that something you would like to see before or after you have eaten there?Won't be going again, and have heard lots of bad opinions from other people who have been there too.
The Waggon and Horses – WesthoughtonI only write this as Sam & his team deserve every credit for superb food and good service. They have created a varied menu, daring to include more unusual dishes as well as the normal crowd pleasers, to delightful gastronomic effect. They appear to really care about good food and the result is quality on the plate believe me.
Little Italy – Halewe arrived at 1630 and opted for the meze, for my wife and i and the set menu between ,the 2 kids. my eldest was able to share with us. the waiter was 100% attentive and knew what dips (can't think of the correct term) went with each main. the food was just superb, tasty and varied. finished with the figs and cheesecake - fab
Sokrates Taverna – HorwichCan you please send me a list of Christmas dinner on my email, Need to know what foods list for Christmas dinner on December 2008
Swinging Bridge, The – UrmstonEnjoyed an excellent lunch recently at The Swinging Bridge restaurant. Food delicious and also not over expensive. Can't wait to go again. Kath and Keith
Swinging Bridge, The – UrmstonBeen many times....always excellent freshly cooked food and good service, reasonably priced and gets our vote as consistently the best restaurant in the city.... spicy salsa the best anywhere
Cafe Istanbul – Manchester City CentreI would just like to say its been a long time since iv been to such a lovely pub! the food was exceptional as were the cask ales, not badly priced either. and the service from the young girls was also very pleasant. but i have to say that one thing let our whole experience down... the so called manager she was rude, scruffy and down right lazy which was a shame because other than that i would rate it 5 ***** and over all lovely pub.
Wayfarer Restaurant – WiganWe went here for my birthday the other day - a group of 24 people. They were happy to let us have the table all evening, the service was great and friendly, we had the a la carte menu so we could cater for various diets/food allergies, but the kitchen coped magnificently despite the restaurant being very busy. Everyone commented on how lovely the food was, how good the service was, how good the atmosphere was. We all had a great time. And I found the chairs comfortable (nice as I have a bad back and some Italian restaurants go for those uncomfortable wooden ones). 5*.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreWent last month, shocking service, there was a table of 10 next to us on the verge of walking out due to the appalling service. overpriced food and not much choice on the menu. there's much better restaurants around and far, far cheaper, Mr Gallimore should stick to fish and chips
Gallimores – WiganHad a meal here the other day and it was great. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and cheerful. They provided a high chair for my 2yr old daughter who loved the attention she got from the staff. I have to say the presentation is 5 * and I will be making it my regular curry eating haunt from now on....... PS the prices are very reasonable too!
Bower Fold Spice – Stalybridgewe went to rigalettos on the 26/09/08 for my wife's birthday the food was reasonable but the service was diabolical a complete disgrace we waited an eternity for our main meal then when we finally got the sweet menu we waited another twenty five minutes but still no one came to take our order so we got up to pay our bill which we waited another ten minutes to pay when i complained about the service to the manager we got no apology just told they were busy. found it funny that a certain millionaire businessman and his group of friends had swarms of staff running after them
Rigalettos – WiganWent in the summer, Friday night @ 5pm. Good job we booked beforehand, the place was packed to the rafters with several people waiting for a table. Food was very good, but not exceptional, service was very good with friendly and attentive staff(even though they were rushed off their feet). Would definitely go again. People who don't like very busy restaurants would probably be better off avoiding TBH.
La Tasca – Manchester City CentreWe dined there last weekend and having not heard of the restaurant I was a little dubious - however the restaurant more than satisfied our needs. The food was excellent, the sushi inparticular which was so fresh, compliments to the chef who is doing an amazing job. Also the service is exceptional, the staff were very attentive and helpful. If you enjoy Japanese food this is a little gem of a restaurant - the next best thing to eating in Japan.
