best Indian restaurant in Liverpool by far! i recommend that everyone go to this restaurant the service and quality is brilliant
Light Of Bengal – Aigburthwithout a doubt Liverpool's Indian gem..we eat here almost on all special occasions now. The food is gorgeous the staff are friendly and helpful. The menu is varied and your not rushed-its bliss
Light Of Bengal – AigburthSuperb food and service.
Red Fort – AigburthWent to the Elif for my birthday lunch. Service was very relaxed and friendly. A restaurant that puts you at your ease. Wine was excellent and reasonably priced. Food was superb. Highly recommended.
Elif – AigburthNot at all impressed. My wife and I went several times many years ago and really enjoyed it at the time. However, we recently went back for a family meal and the whole night was quite a disaster for a restaurant with such an apparent reputation. Both food and service was way below the standard expected from such an establishment. My Son's burger wasn't cooked properly and was extremely pink inside which wasn't good for a Kids meal. He just ate the chips and beans and when we told the waitress at the end of the meal the reason for him not eating the burger, she didn't seem at all interested. I wasn't looking for any money off at all, but a low cost gesture would have surely helped. Even an apology would have been something! As for the service, we had to ask several times for drinks that never seemed to arrive and we asked three times for my son's dessert before it eventually arrived. The dessert was just a simple ice cream cone which must have taken all of 30 seconds to make, so why we had to wait so long I'll never know. The place was about half full and there seemed to be plenty of staff working so there was absolutely no excuse for such poor service. We couldn't wait to get out of there at the end and even then we had to ask for the bill 2 or 3 times before that eventually arrived as well. As a customer, we felt completely ignored and under-valued. It wasn't the relaxed evening we were expecting and although the adult meals were OK, it didn't make up for the complete lack of service and undercooked kids meal. We felt it was a complete waste of money and we will not be returning again. It's a real shame, I have fond memories of going there when I was younger but it's clearly not as well managed now.
Maranto’s Restaurant – Aigburth11/12/2010 - just had a fantastic meal at Chilli Banana, I'm veggie and the selection for me was fantastic with almost as much choice as there was for meat eaters. Out of curiosity we tried the chocolate spring rolls for afters between us and they are out of this world, they are served with orange and ginger ice cream which I wasn't too sure about from the sound of it but honestly it was beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend Chilli Banana to anyone.
Chilli Banana – AigburthI have been going to Esteban for a number of years and find the food good and the staff even better. I would recommend this Tapas bar for good service.
Esteban Mediterranean Tapas – AigburthHaving had several meals in the restaurant, the food quality has been constant, good quality produce, served in beautiful surroundings by very welcoming staff. Also the quality of the bar food is very good and served with the same care and attention given to the diners in the restaurant area. The bar area is well stocked with some fine wines and a wide range of spirits. Above all it is spotlessly clean !
Maranto’s Restaurant – AigburthThis is the best South American restaurant in town. We spent a lovely evening here for my daughters birthday. We booked in advance and were seated in the restaurant upstairs which is cosy and vibrant (the ground floor is more of a bar/bistro affair and great for margaritas as we found out later!). All of our party of 8 found the food delicious, the service excellent and we will definitely be coming back again soon. 10 out of 10 to all at Que Pasa Cantina.
Que Pasa Cantina – AigburthFirst time visit to Chilli Banana 30th july , it will be the fist of many we were well impressed . Great friendly staff , although we have been to a few Thai places ,this is by far the best , the menu was very varied with lots of dishes we have never seen before . the food was very well presented , sea bass and green chicken curry ( best we have eaten ) for the main course . Lovely place
Chilli Banana – AigburthThe food is excellent. It is well presented and consistently of a high standard. We've been regulars for about 3 years now and are very satisfied with the much needed management change. Unfortunately, the music is just too loud! One of the waitresses agreed and said there is a problem with a dodgy speaker, but it really does make it uncomfortable to eat through. It feels like we were in a tacky nightclub. The toilets are also kept to a very poor standard, which may put people off from eating here. Also the lady in the black really must learn to tie her hair back if she is going to handle drinks! On the whole we will definitely be returning! We just hope the new management takes on board our minor criticism. :D
Esteban Mediterranean Tapas – AigburthMy wife and I have been eating at Esteban on the weekend, for at least 5 years now. In the past, the menu has been wonderful and always seems to be developing to my tastes, the service has always been lovely, and the ambiance tactful. The past two weekends have been the worst experience for me and I'm sorry to say, I will never be going back to Esteban. Firstly, we have been denied the right to book a table on two separate weekends- I was furious when I phoned to book and was told that although I was a regular I would not be getting a table booked. I have never been to a restaurant that does not take bookings (at least do it for the regulars) We came in anyway, sat down and relaxed. The music was so loud, it was like a disco, the lights were so dim I couldn't actually read the menu. The seats had been moved, and now I was so cramped I could hardly move! So we eventually asked out waiter to turn the music down. He went and got a new person, whom I can only assume is a manager, (he was wearing some tacky pink shirt and tie instead of the Esteban shirt) he then lied to our faces saying he was going to turn it down, and turned it up 10 minutes later! I do not know what is happening there, but it used to be a really relaxed environment. Now the staff is falling over each other, I can't speak to my wife, and I can't read the menu to order anything. All my friends will know about the changes. Esteban- age 30+, -Not welcome!
Esteban Mediterranean Tapas – AigburthWe went on Easter Saturday and the food is lovely and service great, the only thing is that they don't do the veg risotto as part of the tapas menu now and I'm sure that my little boy who's 2 and a half would love it.
Esteban Mediterranean Tapas – Aigburthexcellent service and quality of food with reasonable prices for starters and main courses, will try again soon.
Light Of Bengal – AigburthWe've been regulars at Esteban since it opened. Went for Sunday tapas and it was still delicious. Main bugbear though is that they've changed the tapas menu and simply deleted some items....all of which were our favourites !! Hope its a temporary change as the waitress said lots of people had asked why.
Esteban Mediterranean Tapas – AigburthAbsolutely loved the food! What a lovely restaurant and lovely Spanish waitress who seemed to do everything she possibly could to ensure everything was OK with our meal. To be fair it seemed like she ran the restaurant by herself! We'll definitely be back before Easter for another family meal!
Esteban Mediterranean Tapas – AigburthTRIED THEM ALL, NOTHING TO COMPARE WITH THE LIGHT OF BENGAL.DELICIOUS FOOD AND LOVELY STAFF.
Light Of Bengal – AigburthThe food here is delicious. However the service is lately is very poor. On Friday and Saturday the restaurant is busy, crammed the service is slow and waiters inattentive. Having a booked a table over the phone when we arrived no table was ready and after waiting twenty minutes we has to leave the restaurant. Sadly this restaurant is a victim of its own success.
