We stayed 3 nights at the hotel. All meals were good quality and delicious.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleGreat value for money and Sunday lunch and desserts were very high quality and delicious. There was a delay to us being seated to our table, 15 minutes after booking time, service a little slow and did have to ask if we could see menu again and order desserts and hot drinks, however the staff were lovely and I would definitely return!
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleAbsolutely gorgeous! Best meals we have ever had.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleWe accidentally arrived one hour early to our reservation and staff were extremely accommodating. They managed to seat us quickly and service was spot on. We had 2 courses included in our spa day but didn’t want to over fill before our treatments, we explained that we would skip desert and our waitress Michelle organised for our desert to be added to our evening meal instead. The food at lunch time and the evening were both outstanding, we couldn’t fault it at all. 100% will be back.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleEnjoyed a lovely stay at the Morritt Hotel and ate in Gilroy’s restaurant each evening. There was a good choice on the menu and the steak and ale pie was a particular favourite. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleBeef pie and chips to die for, whole meal was absolutely delicious and staff were amazing, so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, especially the breakfast staff. Stayed overnight on a spa package and couldn’t fault any of it.
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleLocation - beautiful spot, just off the A66. Amazing views, scenery & farm animals in sight. Very secluded and comfortable. The hotel itself was beautiful, our room was gorgeous, nice and clean & spacious no complaints! The spa was to die for, generally one of the best spa and facilities I’ve ever experienced. What you get for the money is out of this world. The food was great, full of flavours however would of expected more. Wasn’t full from the tapas, but was beautifully cooked & presented. Staff were OUTSTANDING. Especially Shannon and Michelle. Great customer service, fantastic attention to detail, very attentive. Would go back without a doubt. Amazing place

Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleI booked the hotel based on location. We stayed for a based purley on convenience. Wow best meal we've had in ages. The beef pie was substantial with beautiful melt in the mouth beef and great chips. My pork stuffed with apricots was absolutely delicious. I really should have had dessert as I didn't really have space for it was delicious and very rich, the staff were knowledgeable and helpful too. Great meal, we will definitely be back next year
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleBreakfast & dinner both very good. Loin of pork enormous & delicious. Sea bass fortunately not huge but beautifully cooked and terrific value compared to what we have to pay 'darn Sarf'. Overall the whole meal represented very good value for money and was much enjoyed. Staff uniformly friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again (we stayed 2 days this time).
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleMy wife and I recently dined in Gilroy's Restaurant on a Sunday evening. We were very impressed with the quality of the food, and the quality of the service we received. The servers were very friendly, without being familiar. They were very helpful and the menu and were able to give us accurate information about our chosen dishes. Considering that one of our choices was a souflee, we didn't have to wait too long! Ignore the poor reviews on Tripadvisor, I think they must be writing about a different hotel! By the time we left the dining room, the restaurant was filling up, and very few tables were vacant!
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleVery good

Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleGreat value both at breakfast and dinner - good choice of food ad staff were excellent especially Michelle. Room 7 was really nice and our friends were in room 8 which was also a good size but said that they would have liked a wardrobe in bedrom
Gilroy’s Restaurant at The Morritt – Barnard CastleBoth dinner and breakfast were excellent with unique recipes developed by the chef for dinner. Unbelievably good value for money
