Royal Spice, The – BarnsleyMe and my fiance went on a friday evening, the staff were very good and were quick at bringing our drinks etc. For the main meal I had beef stroganoff which was delicious, I would recommend it! The starter was also very nice, but we didn't have a dessert because we were too full!
Latinos – BarnsleyThere is a new style here with modern food in a modern setting. A two course steak big meal for two with wine is £25. There is a Specials Board at about £8. All very good and worth a visit.
Elephant and Castle – Barnsleyit was the best meal i have had in a long time
Dorothy Hyman Leisure Centre – BarnsleyAn undiscovered gem of a restaurant tucked away under a railway bridge just outside Barnsley. The decor is great, Zaf, Freddie and staff are very welcoming and friendly and the food is superb. We had very generous servings of the Nawabi Chicken and a chicken korma, both full of flavour and probably the nicest, lightest naan I have ever had, all for about £10, great value. We went on a Thursday night and the place was nearly full. We shall definitely be back.
Royal Spice, The – BarnsleyI had a wonderful meal it went down really well.
Pack Horse Hotel – BarnsleyFantastic food, service and surroundings. Went to a themed Spanish night on a Saturday. Very busy but not too crammed in. Felt very authentic, relaxed and we had a thoroughly fantastic night.

Edmund Arms – Barnsleygood food, great service, brings back happy memories
Button Mill Inn – BarnsleyVery nice home cooked food thoroughly recommend it
Talbot Inn – BarnsleyIt is a brilliant pub, which welcomes everyone with open arms. The food is of high quality and the staff, are some of the best around. Most importantly it is a proper pub with real ale. really would recommend it.
Cherry Tree Inn, The – BarnsleyFirst choice for all our special occasions.
China Court Restaurant – BarnsleyI called at this centre at the last minute, in the area and looking for food. The car park was very large, hence plenty of room. The food was carvery, that was very good indeed, the staff very polite and helpful and we will certainly call back again, in fact we are hoping to go to a Motown night, just before Christmas. The biggest plus for me was non-smoking in the restaurant.
Dorothy Hyman Leisure Centre – BarnsleyVery nice, best to go through the week.
Mezzaluna Ristorante – BarnsleyFantastic all round. Went on a Saturday. Bit noisy from downstairs bar but to be expected on a Saturday night! Food Fantastic!
Latinos – BarnsleyI saw this pub on a gay internet web site and decided to visit last Friday. The pub was very busy but the customers took the time to make me and my friend Iqbal very welcome. One man named "Jigsaw Charlie" spent hours regaling us with various tales and stories. I, as a gay black asian, am very limited to where I can go but "jigsaw Charlie" made this a very friendly pub. I recommend this pub to everyone, gay, straight and Chinese (ask for jigsaw Charlie!). Mohamed Al Alavabahth
Olde Bridge, The – BarnsleyAs soon as I walked into this pub I was made to feel welcome. After the first drink I was known by my first name & my order was already known. The clientele are either all very stupid or they are the sort of people you want to meet for a good night out. I will definitely be back Charlie
Olde Bridge, The – BarnsleyWe visited on Friday evening, and the place was very full. Waiting time was about ?our, but we were informed of that even before we had ordered, and the staff kept us fully informed at all times. Presentation and quality was outstanding. Price was very reasonable, and to be honest, for the quality, and for the service, they could really do with having a slight increase. My partner and I had the Combo for two followed by a Homemade Game Pie served with Fresh Vegetables, (and I mean fresh because they were most obvious not the frozen variety) my partner chose the Sirloin Steak. Unfortunately for me, I could not finish my meal due to the sheer size of the pie, however, when the waiter cleared the table, he did inform me that it contained almost 1lb of meat under the herb crust. My partners steak was cooked to absolute perfection. it was asked to be cooked well done with no blood following the knife. When it was cut into, it was a beautiful tender pink, and the chef is to be congratulated on the way that it was prepared. After resting for about ?our, I was able to sample a Raspberry Ripple Cheesecake, but decided to share this as we were both quite full. Overall, with a bottle of wine and 2 or 3 halves of Carling Lager, the total bill came to less than £40. A great evening out, with excellent food. I will certainly be visiting again, and would heartily recommend the place to anyone. To the landlord and his staff thank you and well done. Whilst ever the quality of your food and service is this good, you are guaranteed of my custom.
