A little gem of a restaurant that shows the best of British when it comes to food and great service. The menu suits every taste and the sticky toffee pudding is to die for! Accompanied with their own Boozy Infusion, after dinner liqueurs in Sticky toffee pudding, black forest gateaux and Jamaican ginger cake the deserts are a perfect end to a fantastic dining experience. I have used this restaurant for Corporate Hospitality as well as personally with friends and family and never been disappointed.

Fantastic Food. Fantastic Service and friendly staff. Not expensive. Best Indian food I have ever had. Good for eating in and takeaway. 10/10

We had heard good things about Beatson House and decided to give it a try this Sunday. When we arrived, we were pleased by the outside presentation of the building, it's outside decked area and ease of parking. The first fly in the ointment was the weather, though. The rain had been falling in heavy showers throughout the day and, as we arrived, was falling heavily. It was at this point that Beatson House first set itself head and shoulders above other restaurants in our experience. One of the staff came out to our car with a large umbrella and escorted us to the building to save us from getting wet! It was entirely unexpected, very pleasing and set the tone for the evening. The food was excellent throughout. Nothing pretentious but everything cooked and presented very well and tasting superb. The serving team were attentive without being intrusive and the whole restaurant had a uniquely intimate feel due in the most part to the arrangement of the tables in rooms. My only disappointment with the restaurant was that I hadn't discovered it sooner. Highly recommended.

The Y - Pas Chippy holds a Fish and Chip Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers. It is one of only a handful of shops around the country to have this award. You can be confident of the quality of the product and the service at this shop

We were stuck in the Barnsley area on a Friday night with no idea where to go for food. Reviews suggested Romanos would be a good place so we went along - food was excellent, staff friendly, prices reasonable for the quality - BUT it is VERY noisy. there were 3 large birthday parties (which seem to be a regular thing because they treat birthdays so well), and also a VERY VERY LOUD Italian sing-a-long. I've been to many noisy gigs before but this was just painful to the eardrums. We nearly walked out.

Latinos is one of Barnsleys hidden gems. The restaurant, staff and food are all excellent. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone knowing that they will be totally blown away with just how good it is.

Best Kept Secret. Blah Bar do the best Sunday lunch in Barnsley. The food iis always excellent, and in my opinion restaurant standard. The staff are lovely and so helpful. The Chef changes the menu most weeks, but you can always have the roast beef Sunday lunch. Cannot recommend it enough. Prices are very reasonable, £10 for a 3 course. During the winter months, £5 for a main course. You cannot do it as cheap at home. I have eaten in the week, the food again excellent, always a changing menu. Def a hidden gem.

We were recommended this venue to try. The service was excellent, really attentive and quick. We followed two large groups so were expecting to wait a little while for service but were not. The food was of good quality although it did appear that the same sauces were used in the chicken dishes and that the meat had not been marinaded at all. We prefer chunks of chicken as opposed to slices. Flavours were of a good quality though. Overall a DLCC rating of 7.5 out of 10.

Cannot fault the quality of the food and service at The Royal Spice,.We have been eating at the restaurant for a few years now and I would strongly recommend it. The staff are very helpful and you can also deviate away from the menu and ask for something bespoke to your own taste as I did the last time. I booked my family in for Christmas dinner in 2009 and they do NOT inflate the prices which I think is superb. I had my 40th birthday party there hiring the big room the evening and food was faultless. 11/10.

Called into the Potting Shed recently after a tip off from a friend who recommended it following a recent change in ownership of the place. I was very impressed! The weather was cold, but the welcome was warm - and the food was heavenly! I visited around midday on Sunday; some were having brunch (which looked yummy - shame I had already had breakfast!), some were making a start on lunch and others had simply called in mid-'ramble' (or even mid-horseride!) for a coffee and pastry by the warmth of the roaring fire. I was there for lunch: Fish and chunky home made chips for me, roast duck sandwich for another, home made burger for another (the size of it!!), and beautifully made fish cakes for the last of us. The portions were hearty and the presentation was amazing, and this was furthermore extended to the desserts (where you'll struggle to choose just one!). I also took the opportunity to check out the Potting Shed's set menu for the evenings running up to Christmas and made a booking there and then for the extended family (amazingly priced by the way!). I cannot wait to return in December.
