Balti Palace – BarnsleyWe used this pub once before on a trip to Barnsley. It quickly catered for a coach load of us without any fuss, the landlord Glen & his staff were very welcoming & efficient, the food was wholesome & good value & quickly served, I would not hesitate to recommend this pub to anyone
The Keys – BarnsleyI have been to Bistro Romanos on a number of occasions, and have always found the service excellent, the food prepared and cooked in an exquisite manner and the atmosphere perfect. Even though I no longer live in Barnsley, I always make a point of booking a table whenever I am in town.
Bistro Romanos – Barnsleyi would highly recommend this restaurant as the food is outstanding and the portion sizes are huge
Crown and Anchor, The – Barnsleyi would highly recommend this restaurant as the food is outstanding and the portion sizes are huge
Crown and Anchor, The – BarnsleyLast time we went they had just hiked their prices up, and although it used to be very good value it's a bit overpriced now. We went on a Thursday and although there was hardly anyone there the service was terrible. It gets very noisy when it's busy at weekends - not a place for a romantic meal out.
Mezzaluna Ristorante – BarnsleyMy boyfriend used to go on about how great this restaurant is, but I can only assume that it's gone downhill over time. The staff have never been friendly, and looked at me like something from the bottom of his shoe when I asked for the leftovers in a doggy bag. The food is pretty bland, and I ordered food to take out a little while back after waiting well over an hour they sent me out with the wrong order. You can imagine my disappointment when I bit into my "lamb" only to find it was fish. After that we've never bothered going back - there's a much, much better Indian round the corner called Royal Spice which I can't recommend highly enough.
Darton Balti Restaurant and Takeaway – BarnsleyThis is far and away my favourite Indian in Barnsley. It might not look like much from the outside as it's up a stairway above a betting shop, but their curry is out of this world - always full of flavour and so tasty it puts most other Indian's in the shade. The staff are always very polite and friendly and I've ever never been disappointed. If you love curry you've got to give this place a try. It's right in the middle of town and stays open late, so it's perfect if you fancy a curry after you've had a night out in town. They also deliver.
India Garden, The – BarnsleyTHANK YOU FOR THE EFFORT YOU AND ALL YOUR STAFF PUT IN FOR OUR 50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, 20th DEC O7. WE WOULD RECOMMEND THE OLD POST OFFICE FOR ALL OCCASIONS.
Old Post Office Bar & Steak House – BarnsleyTHANK YOU FOR THE EFFORT YOU AND ALL YOUR STAFF PUT IN FOR OUR 50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, 20th DEC O7. WE WOULD RECOMMEND THE OLD POST OFFICE FOR ALL OCCASIONS.
WORST & RUDEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED AFTER BOOKING A TABLE THEN SITTING DOWN AN HOUR LATER WITH THE MANAGER SAYING "ITS JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS". SHOCKING & ARROGANT! MY FRIENDS AND I WONT BE PAYING ANOTHER VISIT ANYTIME SOON!
The Original Dilraj – BarnsleyI just wanted to thank kate horsfield the owner and her staff for a lovely do on new years eve. It was a buffet and dj with dancing and lots of fun. The food was excellent as usual and the staff so friendly. my husband though kate's party dress looked wonderful!! I highly recommend the potting Shed day and night, we are regulars from holmfirth and it makes a nice day out for us now we're both retired. good location, free parking, wonderful hand crafted oak decor. well worth the trip
Rileys at the Potting Shed – BarnsleyMaybe I am biased living in Darton but I have eaten Asian food in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, but this place for me beats them all. Whatever you want, Imran will do. Brilliant! Send me the £5 Zaff and by the way Azzar says your not 27 but 43. I don't care, keep the food the same we'll still keep coming. Julian
Royal Spice, The – Barnsleywe just had our office Christmas dinner at the potting shed and thought it was wonderful. Such a beautiful place next to the stream at night, amazingly large Christmas tree, apparently from the field behind the Potting shed as there is a garden centre/nursery opposite. Great food, lovely service and nice selection of wine! We thank you very much.
Rileys at the Potting Shed – BarnsleyI thought I must write a review on the potting shed after a wonderful evening we had for our office outing Christmas do. Were we a table of 18 so quite a few of us, having organised this for the office this year and often had problems I was delighted with the speed, and quality of the food and service. It was a pleasure to be there and enjoy the evening so much, thank you to Kate Horsfield and all her staff, we'll be back next year.
Rileys at the Potting Shed – BarnsleyMy partner and I went the first week it opened, It felt like walking into an Italian restaurant at first as the decor was unlike any Indian i had previously been to. But it was an Indian meal to remember, good service (apart from the waiter rushing to the window everytime a fit girl walked past the window)the food was great.
Chilli Restaurant – BarnsleyWe eat at the Royal spice every week with our young children. The staff are very friendly and the food always excellent. In particular the nan bread which is the nicest we have tried! I would recommend eating out at the Royal Spice as you will be guaranteed a great curry as a reasonable price!
