The Swan Hotel – BirkenheadThis is without doubt a great restaurant. Living locally we have enjoyed a few good meals!! However, i booked the restaurant for my husbands birthday and we took our three sons (9-12 yrs)- bad idea. We felt obliged because of the atmosphere to constantly try and keep the boys quiet. Even worst when we came out they were still hungry and we had to buy them fish & chips (conveniently situated along the same row of shops!) Still, the boys have never forgotten their dads birthday meal!!
Fraiche Restaurant – OxtonIts pub grub, reasonable prices and a good choice, the gammon is very good as is the lasagna, steak can be hit/miss, depends who is cooking! You get what you pay for, so don't go expecting fantastic food for an average price of around £4-£5! Cheap & cheerful and one of the better pubs for food in the area.
The Swan Hotel – BirkenheadWe go here fairly regularly as its good value, good food, nice wine, relaxed atmosphere and you don't need to book, although on certain days its busier than others and you may need to wait but you can enjoy a drink at the bar or pop over the road to the pub and come back! The garlic bread and ribs are fantastic! Friendly helpful staff, recommend!
Venezia Pizzeria – BirkenheadMe and 9 of my colleagues had a great evening at fat momma's,the food was fabulous, the staff were very professional and good humoured, they had a great choice of food on the menu, and specials board ranging from Goats Cheese Brushcetta to Fillet Steak Rossini , and Greek Chicken.I chose the Rossini which melted in the mouth, great to see that you don't have to pay extra for vegetables , unlike other restaurants in the area. All in all we had a great night , we will certainly be booking our Christmas party there.
Ella Grill – BirkenheadMyself and 3 friends visited Fat Mommas last night and had a very enjoyable evening. The food and service was second to none, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely be going back again.
Ella Grill – BirkenheadWe celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant on Saturday night, I had the Whole Sardines and the Seabass, the wife had Brie and Greek Chicken, all cooked and served to a high standard they also have a great selection of wines, the staff were so welcoming and pleasant, we will be returning very soon.

Ella Grill – BirkenheadRecently called Fat Momma's and asked if they could provide the catering for my dad's funeral. They opened up early and we had a very enjoyable experience, we even stayed towards evening and had dinner. I would recommend Fat Momma's for this kind of service - thanks for making it memorable
Ella Grill – BirkenheadVisited Fat Momma's for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. The ambience was relaxed and homely. We were greeted by Mike, one of the owners, who was friendly and welcoming. For starters we had the crab cakes, chorizo mix and spring rolls - all of which were delicious. For mains we all had the Mediterranean Lamb - again excellent. For dessert, I had the ice-cream and liquor special - a yummy combination of choc flakes, liquor and ice-cream. My sister and her friend both had liquor coffees (pleased to see real cream not the squirty version!). Staff were attentive but not overbearing. Altogether a really enjoyable evening - we'll definitely be going back
Ella Grill – BirkenheadWhat a great night we had on thursday 25th June at Fat Momma's, our food was perfect, the atmosphere was great, and we were made very welcome by mine host Mike , I can recommend the mushroom fritte, the batter was so light and crispy,I also had the cheesy garlic bread as a side order , yummy!!!!!!!.My main course was linguine paecatore, it had plenty of seafood in and the linguine was cooked just right , the sauce was very spicy. For dessert I had Summer berry tart which was light and refreshing,All in all a great evening was had by our table of myself and two friends. End
Ella Grill – BirkenheadI visited fat momma's with a group of friends and we were surprised at the choice of food on the menu, so we decided to order different starters so that we could all try each others, the tempura sole was my favourite, followed closely by the chicken quesedilla, for my main course I had the Peppered Fillet Steak,I also tried couple of my friends main courses of Baked Salmon, and Chicken Creme all off which were very good, we had the house white and red wine which was excellent and good value.I then finished off with the lightest profiteroles that I have ever had which where coated in a chocolate mousse. We would recommend this restaurant to all our friends. louise
Ella Grill – BirkenheadI went to Fat Mommas with my husband and another couple. The atmosphere was great, really lively without being too loud. The food was delicious! The baked brie to start was divine and the Mexican bread was wonderfully fiery. The steaks were tender and beautifully cooked - although I would ask for a more creamy sauce in future. The wait between courses was perfect. The food was very well priced, as was the wine. The waiting staff could have been more attentive, although they were not hard to flag down. I would absolutely recommend a trip here, particularly as some dishes are only a fiver during the 'happy hour'.
Ella Grill – Birkenheadmyself and my family thought we would go and try happy hour at fat momma's , we were pleasantly surprised at the prices of the pasta and pizza's, our daughters who are only 5 and 7 thoroughly enjoyed there margherita pizza and fries which they shared, I myself had the Cajun chicken pasta which I would highly recommend, and my husband had the meat feast pizza , both our pasta and pizza's only cost £4.95 each, a bargain and we will be returning. Fab decor and ambience, overall a great experience.
Ella Grill – BirkenheadMy husband & I went to Fat Mammas on 10 June, this was our 3rd visit. We had mushroom fritte to start wonderful big mushrooms with a light tempura batter. For main course I had the Goats Cheese and green bean pasta lovely flavour to compliment the creamy cheese, my husband had the pork with pear again the flavours were fantastic and lovely hot vegetables I would highly recommend the restaurant for lovely friendly atmosphere, great food with an open kitchen where you can see the high standards of the food preparation
Ella Grill – Birkenheadmy boyfriend and i went to Fat Momma's for his birthday. I had the brie to start which was to die for and my boyfriend had the special of scallops and black pudding, which i tried and it was lovely. We went at 5.30 as we had heard that they do an early evening deal, for the main course i had the momma's chicken pasta which was excellent and my boyfriend had a meat feast pizza, which he loved. It was £4.95 for each of our mains, which was very reasonable and i would have definitely paid more. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as the whole night was a great experience and i have been back since!!
Ella Grill – BirkenheadMy partner and I went to Fat Momma's on 6th June 2009, I had the Brie and my partner had the Mushroom Fritte, followed by Lamb and Momma's Chicken. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was fabulous, the staff were great but all credit to the chef, we also had a Mexican to try whilst our starters were being prepared hot hot hot but tasty.
