Lasan Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreTreating my mother to an evening out, we chose this venue above the other establishments on St Paul’s Square. We were seated very quickly; our order taken (19:37); drinks and garlic bread arrived promptly but after 20 minutes our main course still hadn't arrived. When I finally managed to catch the attention of one of the waiters, he advised that the meal was on the way; it arrived at 20:30. By this point, we were fed up of waiting so left, only paying for our drinks. The manager was very apologetic but I was really disappointed. I'd eaten here before, albeit some years ago, and really enjoyed the experience. But I WILL NOT be dining here again.
Pasta Di Piazza – Birmingham City CentreWe went this lunchtime. What a fantastic place. We will visit again in the evening. See you soon
Zagora – Birmingham City CentreMy wife and I went on a Monday evening. As soon as you walk into the restaurant, you can feel that subtle ambience around you. The big brass pots with floating flowers and the smell of incense add a very nice touch to the already nicely decorated restaurant. On arrival, we were asked where we would like to sit, rather than taken to a table. The service is great, we were also told that if we didn’t understand anything on the menu or needed any advice to just get his attention. The food is amazing and the portions are very generous indeed. All in all, I would suggest that rather than go up the road to Asha's take a detour to Jojolapa, it's worth every penny. Subs
Jojolapa – Birmingham City CentreThis is a fantastic chippie that seems to get better and better everytime I visit it. The simple menu offers exactly what you want from a good old fashioned fish and chip shop, either to take away or to eat in the restaurant and the new owners, the very friendly Carrelli family have definitely had the Bedders family trade secrets passed down to them and (dare I say it) made the fish chips even more yummy! Make sure you make a visit soon!
This Is Bedders – Birmingham City Centrefood to die for!!! Have eaten here twice and would definitely return. The lunchtime menu is great value for money and the portions are pretty decent so it is easy to eat too much! Great venue for an evening meal as well. great service, great decor, definitely worth a visit
Asha’s Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreWe checked this out as they had just won the British Curry Award and we weren't disappointed. We were spoilt for choice, the meat dishes and kebabs were excellent.
Lasan Restaurant – Birmingham City Centre"My partner and I decided to try out Itihaas recently, and I must warn anyone reading this to seriously consider what I am about to tell you. Seemed pleasant enough, until 5 minutes into eating our meal, my partner bit into a piece of GLASS which was disguised amongst the rice. It wasn't just a tiny piece either, it was well over half a centimetre long, and pointed. Luckily he caught it just before swallowing. So, we called over the waiter, and as you can imagine, he was genuinely concerned. The manager came over and apologised, then handed us a card to get a free meal next time. Not wishing to make a fuss, we said it was ok, accidents do happen. The full plates were taken away (obviously, we could eat no more) as we finished off our drinks. Then, as we were leaving, one of the waiters stopped us and said we must pay!!!!!! We were stunned!!!! Pay for a meal with glass in it?!!!! Were they having a laugh??? No, they were deadly serious. The manager came over and explained that the card was for a free meal next time!! Next time??? "There won't be a next time" we told him. Needless to say, we refused to pay. Much to the annoyance of the manager. The funny thing is, if they had just given us the glass meal for free, we may well have gone back again, and actually PAID but the treatment we received, I wouldn't go back if somebody PAID ME! Steer well clear! Accidents can happen but such poor customer service is inexcusable."
Itihaas Indian Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreI was lucky enough to come across this chippie when I was last in Birmingham and I will definitely be going there on my next visit. I chatted to the owner who said he had just bought the shop and I think he is doing a fantastic job with it. Keep it up and see you next time. p.s I love the furniture. Keeping it real!!
This Is Bedders – Birmingham City CentreMyself and my partner eat here at least once a month. Simply the best restaurant in Birmingham.
Bar Estilo – Birmingham City CentreI've been a customer of Bedders for as long as I can remember, and seen three generations of bedders in that time. The fish and chips has always been exceptional, literally the best by far in the midlands, and customers would travel for miles to wait in the always long (but fast moving) queue. However, I visited recently and for the first time, hardly any queue, and the food didn't quite taste the same. Also, none of the Bedders family in view, - have they sold up?
This Is Bedders – Birmingham City CentreMy boyfriend took me out to San Carlo's a couple of weeks back for our anniversary. We both had a lovely evening and they gave us a good table away from the crowds. The food was great and the staff were really good in helping us choose the perfect wine to accompany our meal .The whole evening was really romantic and we were surprised at the reasonable price of the bill. Will definitely be eating there again!
San Carlo – Birmingham City Centrequite good. pricey due to location...
Koh-I-Noor – Birmingham City CentreWe have always received consistently good food here, whatever you choose from the varied menu. The owner is often present checking that all customers are happy. Give it a go - you will not be disappointed.
Locanta – Birmingham City CentreThe Warehouse is a gem of a restaurant with a cafe atmosphere. Its tucked away yet only 5 mins from Moor Street station. Next to the One Earth vegan shop. Food is very fresh and tasty, all veggie with 80% being vegan, very good value for money, friendly staff and the meals are presented very well. From snacks such as salads, soups and toasties and tasty falafel to main meals burgers, curries and more unusual dishes then there is a great selection of cakes the choc fudge cake is very good. Fantastic choice for vegans. There are often special evenings like mexican and japenese nights - the chefs are all very talented and all have their special ideas/skills. Sat lunchtimes can get busy between 12-2 but you can book to ensure a table. Its my favourite place to eat in Birmingham due to the great quality and price and atmosphere and the huge vegan choice!
Warehouse Cafe – Birmingham City CentreI'd read some bad reviews about Thai Edge so didn't know what to expect when my friend chose it as the location for her birthday night out but I was very pleasantly surprised. The decor is lovely and the staff were very attentive and polite. The food was great, really tasty, and we all enjoyed it very much. We would definitely go there again.
