Mono – Birmingham City CentreWagamama does Japanese 'instant cuisine' very well. The seating plan is communal and the restaurant itself is rather noisy, but its all part of the experience. I? recommend the ramen noodles as being exceptional. Service is faultless too. A nice evening out, if you don't mind paying for parking at the Bullring, which is a bit pricey.
Wagamama – Birmingham City CentreUlysses does an excellent and reasonably priced MEZE; the atmosphere is very greek, with an authentic 2 man greek band playing most evenings. The seating area is simply ENORMOUS and the service is quick and attentive. Try and avoid friday evenings, however, as it can be very busy and boisterous.
Ulysses – Birmingham City CentreMono is looking good, I think they must have had a refurb as I don? remember it being like that. Saturday nights are rocking, loads of women; drinks are a bit pricey though. Definitely worth a look
Mono – Birmingham City CentreFantastic food. Waiters had provided excellent service and the cost was reasonable.
Itihaas Indian Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreThe best restaurant ever in my opinion!!!!! The most extraordinary full of fantastic flavours. I would go there again and again. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who knows food.
Itihaas Indian Restaurant – Birmingham City Centrethe food is excellent i especially enjoyed the makhni paneer and the mirchi murgh, great deco and a wide range of fabulous dishes. worth every penny
Itihaas Indian Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreI visited this place with 3 of my friends. 3 of us enjoyed our meals, but 1 didn?. He had mussels to start & all of the shells were shattered in the dish. Surely this should not have left the kitchen. It certainly could not have been eaten. He then had a poor main meal also. His steak was too well done - he had asked for rare. We did not pay for either of these dishes. The rest of us enjoyed our meals & couldn? complain. This certainly hasn? put me off going back, but I will stay away from those dishes
Bella Italia – Birmingham City Centretasty pub grub
O’Neill’s – Birmingham City CentreMy partner and I went to Locanta after it was recommended by a friend. The menu was varied offering a choice of grilled meats, shish style and a wide range of pasta and pizzas. We were very happy with the dishes we ordered, the staff were very friendly and the overall ambience of the place was relaxed and cosy. We really enjoyed our evening and will definitely return in the future. I would definitely recommend Locanta.
Locanta – Birmingham City CentreWent there on a weekday, starter not that good but i must say, the scallops were divine!! nice bottle of house wine cost approx £11.00 all in total about £80.00 for two-three course meals and side dishes.
Bank – Birmingham City CentreVisiting from Dublin.... atmosphere great. Very impressed with quality of service.... food great
Thai Edge – Birmingham City CentreThe quality of the food here is exceptional, and despite being very busy, our service was swift. My only gripes really would be that we requested condiments (just some soy sauce actually) more than once, but the busy staff seem to have forgotten this request the second they moved away from our table! It was also difficult to get the combination of things we wanted on the set menus, so we ordered various separate dishes to share. In terms of cost, we ordered soups, mixed starters for 4 people, 5 different main courses, 2 portions of noodles and 2 egg fried rice, and a bottle of house white wine, and it came to £30 per head (4 people) including service charge. This is a little bit more than I would like to pay normally, but I have probably been spoiled by restaurants I know that charge £15 per person for an all-you-can-eat menu...freshly cooked food, not a buffet. Go with the set meal's for however many people if you can find one that suits, as it appeared to work out somewhat cheaper that way. NB - your bill comes with 10% service charge already added. Great for those that tip as the maths has already been done. Not great for those that prefer to tip based on whether or not they thought the service was good! I didn't mind at all, as my service was generally good all evening. I would highly recommend the seafood dishes to any fish fans, and also the sizzling dishes. The location is great, surrounded by several nice bars for a pre or post meal drink.
Tin Tin Chinese Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreI went to this restaurant on a Thursday night, thinking that there would be plenty of tables available to my surprise the restaurant was very busy with limited space available - always a good sign! The service was very good and the food was the tastiest Chinese that I have had for a long time. I will certainly be going for another meal here very soon. The food was very good value for money - Three main courses, 2 desserts, 2 coffees and a bottle of wine for under £50.00.
Chung Ying Cantonese – Birmingham City CentreThe Village Cafe makes the best authentic Malaysian and Cantonese food at a reasonable price. Good location and friendly service.
Village Cafe – Birmingham City CentreThoroughly recommend the Warehouse Cafe - the atmosphere is cosy and friendly and the food is great - good, fresh and tasty and not just your usual vegetarian lentil flans or tomato bakes.
Warehouse Cafe – Birmingham City CentreThis contemporary restaurant is extremely well appointed and the food and service are great. One of the slight surprising things on the two times I have visited is the lack of diners. It may be that I was unlucky, but the sparse clientele certainly took something away from the atmosphere and ambiance. This restaurant deserves to be packed every night if the quality of the food, presentation and high standards are a measure. It may simply be that not enough people know about it, so maybe this recommendation will help.
Mechu Bar Grill & Late Lounge – Birmingham City CentreI was not overly impressed with my noodle dish. My son's tasted a little better. This was my first experience of a 'communal' restaurant. It's potluck as to whom you end up sitting next to. My neighbour obviously didn't realise that it's more polite to turn away from the table to sneeze. Not such a problem except when the seating arrangement is so intimate! The saving grace was the service, which was very good.
