Zagora – Birmingham City CentreWent here for my wifes 60th Birthday with my son & partner, never had Japanese food and was a bit hesitant but what a great night, The chef livened up the experience instantly! From the flaming start to the fried egg catching to the complete meal cooked in front of you. Great night will go again.....
Miyako Teppanyaki – Birmingham City CentreI have been to Ashas a couple of times and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Indian food. All their dishes are well prepared and presented. Nice atmosphere and at good location.
Asha’s Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreVery nice site!
Aria Bistro – Birmingham City CentreVery nice site!
Aria Bistro – Birmingham City CentreWhat a menu! Excellent service. The food surpassed expectation. Every ingredient is indulgent on the taste buds. I highly recommend!
The Oriental – Birmingham City CentreThis USED to be one of my favourite restaurants as the food is quite good although it is overly priced. Unfortunately, I will NOT be going back again. I booked a table for a birthday meal and could not be 100% sure of the numbers because it was during Ramadhan and it was proving difficult for some of my friends to commit completely. After many long conversations with the incredibly rude, inconsiderate and arrogant manager AJAY BHATIA, we finally booked a table for 12 and when due to unforeseen circumstances, only 7 of my friends could make it, the manager and some of the waiting staff treated us all with incredible disrespect. Drinks orders were taken and not brought to us, we were ignored by the staff on many occasions and to top it all, as I left the restaurant, the manager Ajay had the audacity to have a go at me! I am a business woman myself and believe me, if I spoke to my clients and treated them in the way I was treated my business would not last 5 minutes. I think Mr Bhatia needs some strong lessons in etiquette and how to excel in customer service!
Itihaas Indian Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreThe Deep Caribbean Experience is a quality Caribbean Restaurant in Birmingham City Centre. This exclusive Caribbean Restaurant has friendly staff, delicious food and the service is fantastic The Restaurant is just minutes from the busy heart of Birmingham’s city centre, within walking distance from New Street Train station, Birmingham’s main theatres and the famous “Bull Ring” shopping complex. This Caribbean Restaurant is also minutes away from the National Indoor Arena, Symphony Hall, International Convention Centre and Broad Street.
Deep Caribbean Experience – Birmingham City CentreArrogant rude staff & bland food. Small portions. We ordered a chicken dish described as chunks of breast off the bone, only to be served two chicken drumsticks in a sauce! Also they added on a bottle of white wine to our bill which we did not have! After pointing this out the waiter went off in a huff to change the bill with no apology whatsoever. Bill for 2 people with a couple of beers was almost £80!! Will never eat there again; I have no idea who writes the reviews in the press!
Itihaas Indian Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreWant to experience a different range of Chinese dishes? BBQ Village has a very extensive menu, including many vegetarian and vegan dishes that you will be unlikely to come across elsewhere. It’s also incredibly reasonably priced - a large range of starters on sticks for £1. I think there was only one vegan dish although that was delicious - spicy potato slices - 3 good sized slices coated with cumin seeds and chilli, barbecued till crisp on the outside - really unusual and very tasty. For my main course I had one of the best tofu dishes I’ve ever had in a Chinese restaurant - I believe it was called sizzling bean curd with peppers - they didn’t have any takeaway leaflets so I can’t verify the names. I had a shredded potato dish instead of rice, and one of the several Chinese greens dishes; my favourite ong choi. I could have returned to this restaurant five or six times and had different dishes each day. Because I arrived quite late and had an early start the next day, I didn’t really check the meat or fish dishes but the restaurant was quite full - 80% Chinese customers - and most had ordered non-vegetarian dishes. With over 100 to choose from, there’d be something for everyone. I didn’t have the time to check how ethical the non-vegetarian dishes were. Cost - for three very large servings, plus starter, plus 2 drinks - £26. I dined off what I took away for 2 days! £30 would buy enough food and drink for 2 people. Service - very friendly and helpful staff (checked with chef to ensure my choices were vegan). Recommendation - make an evening of it and book to see an art film at the Electric - the oldest working cinema a few doors away at No 49, and finish the evening off by ordering a selection of different dishes from your norm at the BBQ Village at No 55.
BBQ Village – Birmingham City CentreWe ate at The Loft Lounge last week and were amazed by the personal service that was given to us and how tasty the food was! It was great to discover that the food is sourced locally from a farm.
The Loft Lounge – Birmingham City CentreWe ate at Cielo one evening after work with our Director. We all ordered different dishes and they all arrived cooked to perfection. The staff were really pleasant and although we arrived without a booking and the restaurant was really busy, they didn't make a fuss and within a few minutes they had made room for us and made us feel really welcome. They really take time and care over their food and service and you can tell they take great pride in their restaurant. I would definitely eat there again, time and time again.

This Is Bedders – Birmingham City Centresimply the best Cantonese restaurant in Birmingham. try it.
Rainbow Cantonese Restaurant – Birmingham City CentreThis restaurant was great! I contacted them in advance to discuss having my 30th Birthday there on Saturday 18th May 09. Communications were fast via email and telephone calls to answer any questions I had. They gave me a table that fit all 20+ of my party on, in front of the lovely first floor windows and although they put a small fresh flower display on each table they gave me freedom to decorate the tables to my own theme in advance. Reading reviews in advance I wasn't expecting brilliant food BUT I was very surprised. I had the stuffed mushrooms followed by the Chilli Gamborini. DELICIOUS - and wonderfully home-cooked, fresh and tasty. Across the table all my birthday guests commented very positively about the quality of the food. I would have been pleasantly surprised if I was on a dinner date for 2, never mind this consistent standard for a very large party. The service was excellent and food came out well paced, hot and with professionalism. We had a few waiters who were very attentive with drinks orders and pouring wine/champagne. I can't recommend them enough for a special occasion that you are keen to go without hiccups and with plenty of smiles from all diners.
Locanta – Birmingham City CentreAte at San Carlo again at the weekend and thought to myself as a regular Sugarvine user that I must come on here to write a recommendation for it! My partner and I regularly go to restaurants in town and San Carlo is the restaurant we revisit the most. The service, food and wine are, as always, absolutely excellent. The effort put in to creating the dishes is visible when the food is put in front of you. All meals are presented delightfully, something that I as a diner appreciates and San Carlo as restaurateurs clearly recognise the value of. We’re always quite adventurous with the wine list and again must compliment San Carlo for a diligent selection of wines. So, I hope this is a shining endorsement for those who are yet to be acquainted with San Carlo, I truly can’t recommend it enough.
San Carlo – Birmingham City CentreHave been to lunch twice at this place this week as working opposite and its one of the friendliest places i have come across when on business in Birmingham. The bar has a great buzz (and a great steak sandwich!) and the restaurant is lovely with a top value offer of 14.50 for two courses.
