very good
Arden Oak Harvester – SheldonThis contemporary restaurant is extremely well appointed and the food and service are great. One of the slight surprising things on the two times I have visited is the lack of diners. It may be that I was unlucky, but the sparse clientele certainly took something away from the atmosphere and ambiance. This restaurant deserves to be packed every night if the quality of the food, presentation and high standards are a measure. It may simply be that not enough people know about it, so maybe this recommendation will help.
Mechu Bar Grill & Late Lounge – Birmingham City CentreTruly an eye opener! Fantastic food, fantastic staff. Took me totally by surprise. A bench mark for others in Birmingham to follow.
India Garden – ErdingtonAverage restaurant, average price. For the area there are better. Needs modernisation from its dark dingy setting and requires friendlier staff.
Darjeeling Indian Cuisine – ShirleyWent on Tuesday night with a party of six. The Drum is a pub, which does food so it? a typical find a seat quote a table number setup. The decor put me in mind of the Garden House on the Hagley road and wall well maintained and pleasant to spend a few hours in. My father in law wanted to borrow the table for his Christmas Dinner. Service was friendly but just a tad slow not enough to ruin the experience but noticeable. I had the special prawn starter steak and Treacle pudding and custard all was very good starter was not quite what is expected but I think that was my fault rather then the preparation. Steak was a decent size cook Medium as I asked and each cause was a decent portion size and well presented. Drinks meals and dinner came to just over 70 notes All in nice place, friendly staff and good food. Would recommend the Drum for a night out.
Drum and Monkey – KnowleHaving read the reviews of some Sutton? restaurants, I felt that I needed to write this one. For the best curry house in the area. Which I have been going to for more than 30 thirty years now. Like a lot of Sutton folks, I myself had my first Indian culinary experience in this unique Sutton restaurant. The location is ideal, as Boldmere is a great place to go for a drink, with its many friendly and welcoming public houses and bars. And nothing caps of a night out there, than ending up at the Bengal. Having been there with parents when I was young, while I was courting, then with my husband, kids later on, and most recently with grandchildren. Service standards never slip, always has a good atmosphere, never any idiots or drunken louts there. The quality of food has always been of the highest standard, and most importantly it's consistent. The place offers a large menu, with a lot of variety. Highly recommend the Baltis if you like it spicy, if not the butter chicken is second to none!
Bengal Garden Restaurant – Sutton ColdfieldGreat Food and Great Atmosphere!!! I would definitely recommend anyone who enjoys a nice curry with exciting flavours and aroma's to go to DESI 2.
Desi 2 – SandwellThis has got to be the best Indian restaurant in Birmingham; the food is second to none. I am not a great lover of Indian food, mainly because there are so many in brum selling less than average dishes, and it? really hard to find a decent Indian restaurant. But this one is the best, although I live about 30 mins drive will be going back, as it is really worth it. In my opinion no other Indian restaurant in brum comes close. Try chicken tikka massala.
India Garden – ErdingtonAlways welcoming, great food, great service and well worth a visit, you will go back.
Shalbon Indian Cuisine – Sutton ColdfieldMust say, I love the restaurant. Sleek place, quality food, and great service. A straight 10 out of 10. They know exactly what there doing, constantly on the ball. Well-done chaps!
India Garden – ErdingtonBeen going regularly to Diwans for about 10 years now. Used to go for the terrible service and rude waiters - very amusing but now go for the excellent food and friendly welcome. Much nicer grub here than so called posh city centre indian restaurants for about 1/5 of the price. BTW it's between Moseley and Balsall Heath NOT Kings Norton!!!
Diwan Balti – MoseleySimply WONDERFUL!
India Garden – Erdingtonvery nice curry and the tower was a very nice dish friendly staff worth trying
Akash Tandoori – StirchleyAfter hearing so many fantastic reviews regarding this restaurant, I just had to go and sample it for myself. I have never before been to such an impressive Chinese eatery. The food range was outstanding together with the quality and presentation. The service was excellent, and the mood perfect. I will be embarking on my second visit this week and I am certain it won't be my last.
Buffet Island – ErdingtonI go to this restaurant every sat, it is so great. I love it!!!!
Buffet Island – ErdingtonI was not overly impressed with my noodle dish. My son's tasted a little better. This was my first experience of a 'communal' restaurant. It's potluck as to whom you end up sitting next to. My neighbour obviously didn't realise that it's more polite to turn away from the table to sneeze. Not such a problem except when the seating arrangement is so intimate! The saving grace was the service, which was very good.
Wagamama – Birmingham City CentreBest Meal EVER!!. Restaurant was recommended by friends, went there on a weekday and was surprised to see how busy they are, Standard of food and service was EXCELLENT....looks like we've found the ideal place to eat now. Already looking forward to the next visit.
India Garden – ErdingtonMy partner and I visited this restaurant recently. The food was great, apart from being a little late with the service. I can't really complain as they knocked off 2 drinks and the starters! So I was impressed with that. I think I will return. Perhaps with a larger group as they did have a few parties going on. All in all quite a nice restaurant.
