The Dog Inn – BlackburnExcellent food and service.
The Dog Inn – BlackburnStunning decor, ample portions and well put together affordable menu, My First visit to the dog inn but definitely not my last Leek and maris piper soup was hot and delicious, the truffle oil was a welcome twist on a classic dish, highly recommended, rich and creamy despite being vegan and not having a trace of butter anywhere to follow was the Sage and Butternut Squash Risotto, three words, TO DIE FOR, perfectly cooked risotto, fresh peas, pieces of roasted butternut squash, and the garstang blue cheese was incredible, melting through the rich creamy rice, perfectly seasoned and every forkful a delight. to accompany my perfect and i impress upon the word perfect risotto i had a portion of triple cooked chips. crisp, fluffy and without a trace of grease, absolutely incredible quality cooking! to follow these culinary triumphs i opted for the Banana Parfait, served with blackpool berries, homemade honeycomb , dark chocolate and caramel sauces from this weekends special menu, and although the parfait wasn't as light as i expected it to be, the natural banana flavour was incredible!, the honeycomb was crisp and melted on the tongue like good honeycomb should, sweet and tart berries and bitter dark chocolate complimented the sweetness of the parfait perfectly. my most sincere thanks and compliments to Mark and Jamie well done. i will certainly be back :D
The Dog Inn – BlackburnThe mutton was absolutely beautiful. My partner had the Steak which was cooked exactly right. We enjoyed our meal so much on the Friday that we treat ourselves to brunch on Sunday. Excellent service, attention to detail is on point and the price is more than fair when weighed against the quality of the local produce used. And what do they put on the tomatoes? Super Tasty ! 5 star!
The Dog Inn – BlackburnFantastic service, fantastic food, took my dad for father's day and he loved it too.
The Dog Inn – BlackburnCame for a meal on fathers day and had garlic mushrooms, a roast and steak and a children's sausages. Food was fab can't fault it, the garlic mushrooms in particular were amazing. Would def go again
The Dog Inn – BlackburnParty of 2 Adults and 3 Children. Visited at the first opportunity. Quality of the produce was clear in every dish. Perfectly balanced menu to reflect this. Honestly could not fault anything. All dishes were superb. Wish you all the best for a successful future (no doubt you will) and you will be seeing us very soon.
The Dog Inn – BlackburnFirst visit since the restaurant has had new management (May 2019). Huge improvement on previous visits, excellent food and excellent value for money. You would struggle to find that quality of food for those prices elsewhere. The new chefs are extremely passionate & enthusiastic and that certainly comes through in the menu and their food presentation. The pub has fantastic views - from it's unique vantage point you can see 3 towers; Darwen, Houghton & Blackpool. Kids menu is quality food, though it is a little limited, however they are more than happy to adapt / make smaller portions of anything that's on the menu which is great if you have more adventurous eaters. We had the Sunday dinner (including the little one's child's portion) and that was very good. The highlight was the sticky toffee pudding which was amazing, infact the best I've ever had! All made onsite - no bought in microwave puddings here!

The Dog Inn – BlackburnBeen to the Belthorn for a meal this week. Mark and Jamie are two amazing chefs who are both very passionate about their work and serving only the best!! Their food is absolutely amazing and only the best meat, fish veg and everything is sourced. Highly recommended. The Belthorn is a lovely old pub with a new twist on the restaurant. You get the old world style in the pub and top service and food in the restaurant with the fantastic views from the top view over Lancashire. Very friendly atmosphere.
