The best curries in the world!!!!!!! keep it up.....
Balti House – BlackburnLovely place but there is where the compliments finish for me. The waiters are very aloof and the last time I was there we had 3 differant meals, however, on trying each one they all tasted the same. An old saying, all fur coat and no substance (changed for politness)
Shajan – BlackburnGood honest home cooked food, need I say more?? We're heading there for lunch today
Observatory Pub & Restaurant – BlackburnFood was ok. Service from the staff was very good, however the service from the management was appalling!! the manager couldn't be bothered to come over to speak to us when we were enquiring about Christmas Day lunch. He chose to keep sending his staff member backward and forward from us to him to answer our questions when it was obvious she couldn't help us. we left abruptly after commenting on how hopeless the to-ing and fro-ing was between them. When we left he couldn't even be bothered to say goodbye!! (the bar and restaurant were empty at this time) we will dine elsewhere in the future, even though we are very local to the Butlers. In the current climate i can't believe a business would choose to treat people in this rude and appalling way. Such a shame as it could be an amazing place with the right management running it..
Butlers Arms – BlackburnWe have been coming here probably since it opened. We get take out about twice a week and eat in every So often. Food is excellent and all the staff are so friendly. Everyone should try New Year's Eve and believe it or Not Christmas Day. Takes all the stress out of cooking. Keep up the good work. Well done. Mr W.
Shajan – BlackburnWhat a Gem, fantastic atmosphere my husband and I recently visited for the first time with our friends. We were greeted by the landlady who has a genuine friendly bubbly personality, which has obviously rubbed off onto her team. The menu was fantastic, I'm trying to eat reasonably healthy and there was so much choice. The food arrived beautifully presented, nice and hot and the waiters/waitress very polite. The 5 of us all enjoyed the 2 courses that we ordered. Will definitely be visiting again.
Myerscough Hotel – BlackburnFood excellent, service not up to standard. Went to the restaurant this weekend and was expecting a much higher standard than we received. Yes the food was excellent but the service definitely wasn't. I found the manager Vinny to be rude and ignorant of anyone that he didn't know, we asked for a drinks menu and after receiving it we ate and left the restaurant without drinks as no one came back to take our order! Vinny spent more time talking to the tables containing groups of girls and ignored everyone else. We asked for glasses of water at the beginning of the night and didn't get these so gave up, ate our food and left. It's a shame as the food is excellent.
Yu And You – BlackburnFirst time at the Clog & Billycock. Busy Sunday lunch and although we didn’t arrive until the back of two it was still pretty hectic. Didn’t need to wait long to get seated though and the young staff were friendly and efficient, despite the number of people there. Wife was gutted that Fish Pie wasn’t on the menu but she went for the Lancashire hotpot instead and was suitably mollified. I had the braised venison which hit the spot just right for a bracing Sunday in November. Nice pint of Thwaites Original too. I don’t think the interior is quite as appealing as their other place near Whalley, the Three Fishes, but that’s a minor quibble.
Clog and Billycock – BlackburnBeen going for some time now and taking family at first great but recently portion sizes have gone down drasticly. Order the fish and chips, used to be excellent . now less fish , more batter had several people say the same . CAREFULL GREY MARE YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE WHAT WAS A GOOD THING
Grey Mare Inn – BlackburnFood, sensational. Price, you get what you pay for. Ambience? A delight. Staff, excellent. Somelier extremely good, hugely knowledgeable. They can't get better can they?
Northcote – BlackburnI had a meal there on Tuesday October 8th and it was excellent. The food and service were first class. I didn't collect a vat receipt for my expenses. Can you please send me one for £21.15 to :- Mr Brian Wrightson 26, Woodhorn Gardens Wide Open Tyne and Wear NE13 6AG Many Thanks and I shall return asap.
Tiggis on the A59 – BlackburnOMG! Our first visit to Calypso but it definitely won't be our last. The food was amazing! We came on recommendation from a friend and Wow we werent disappointed. Our night was made even more enjoyable by the young waiter called Niall who is an absolute credit to the restaurant. We are now in the process of organizing a girls night out and will be returning very soon!! Cant wait!
Calypso Restaurant – BlackburnI cafe, I found it very clean and a great service. Will call again soon because there is free wi-fi connection. Thanks .
I Cafe – BlackburnExcellent food
Observatory Pub & Restaurant – BlackburnBy far and away the best restaurant in the North West of England. The food is excellent and well worth the undoubted expense. Although the service is of a high quality it lacks a genuine warmth and can feel a little stuffy. The overall experience cannot be beaten. A special place for special occasions.
Northcote – BlackburnSTAFF VERY POLITE AND WELL MANNERED, FOOD COOK EXCELLENT. NO COMPLAINTS WITH DRINKS AS WELL.
Old Mother Redcap Hotel – BlackburnI will not be returning. Overpriced average food in a very noisy and stuffy atmosphere. Bar area too close to the dining tables making it impossible to have a conversation without resorting to shouting. On the plus side, the staff are effecient.
Tiggis on the A59 – BlackburnWe dropped in here today for our lunch and waited a good 20 mins for our food so we were thinking "it'll be worth the wait", as there were plenty of diners we were expecting great things - it arrived at our table and resembled a frozen food meal you could pick up from the local supermarket and the roast potatoes were a famous brand needless to say wont be going back there :(
Grey Mare Inn – BlackburnSunday roast £15.50 with a choice of beef or chicken (children, £9.95).
Choose from a selection of mains plus a tea/coffee or soft drink, £11.50. Available Monday to Friday 12pm-2pm.
