Couldn't agree more with all of the other reviews. This really is an excellent restaurant with friendly staff. We visit regularly and have always had tasty, high quality, low cost meals.

Balti House – Blackburn6 of us ate here on tne 26th feb 2012, and what a pleasant surprise, as soon as you walk in you get a good feeling about this place ,for a start its really warm and cosy the fires were lit, there is nothing worse than going in to a cold pub. The food and service was really good, as one of our guests cant eat wheat. The waitress asked the chef to do a wheat free fish pie, which he did and she said it was delicious! We will definitely go back.
O’Marley – Blackburnexcellent highly recommended
Calypso Restaurant – Blackburnwe have been going to the grey mare for a number of years, the food is great and the hospitality second to none
Grey Mare Inn – BlackburnVisited in February 2012 after hearing The Butlers Arms was under new management. What a great decision to give it another chance after visiting under the previous management! The welcome by the staff was fantastic, the service was perfect, the food and drink selection was great. This is a lovely pub/restaurant and it's nice to see it being run so well again. Our food arrived within a very reasonable time of ordering, we were served complimentary warm bread with oil and vinegar while we were waiting, which was a lovely gesture and we were very impressed with the freshly cooked, homemade food. All round a lovely experience, without a fault. Recommended to anyone and I will be sure to visit again soon!

The Willows – BlackburnI visit The Grey Mare for a meal once or twice per month. The staff are always friendly and the food is always great, especially for the price. I don't know what "Juniper" expects but I suggest you try it out for yourself.
Grey Mare Inn – BlackburnFancied seafood and was in lancashire so checked Sugarvine. Was not disappointed. Great terrine, whitebait and fresh crab cocktail.Considering their name it was a pity there were no oysters though! Definitely will recommend this place.
Oyster and Otter – BlackburnI Love, Love, Love this place. 2 of us went for Saturday lunch taking advantage of the £5 off voucher and a flawless lunch was had. Service was tip top, the asst sommelier made a couple of great choices for me. I started off as I always start off with the signature blackpudding, trout with a mustard nettle sauce, Mum had the parsnip soup which was also a winner. The bread is fantastic and never ending. Main course we both had the loin of veal with swede, spinach, shallots and Jus. The veal being tender and tasty. Finally we opted for the apple trifle and roasted pears with rice pudding. A resounding success. See you on Boxing day.
Northcote – BlackburnWaste of money!!!this place is the worst place I have been to in a long time, I go out to eat regularly and this has been a total let down! the service is non existent,Spice Lounge should serve goulash.. may taste better than the foul food being dished out. You wasted my evening, Award winning.. whatever!
Spice Lounge – BlackburnRecently booked a table on a night when they were having a casino night (the waitress gave us the option to join this evening and details of prices et, however we declined). We were the only two in the restaurant. On a positive note the hotel is clean and welcoming and our wine was brought into the bar where we were sitting prior to the table being ready. The dining room had little atmosphere and no music which might have helped but they had linen napkins which was nice. Bread roll somewhat stale, first course of black pudding very nice, my friend's whitebait came without lemon but was brought on request. Mains - well, veg arrived without any serving implements, trio of meats - beef was good but other two meats very dry and over cooked with lots of peppercorn sauce. Potato a little al dente. The wine was good and it was £61 for two without dessert or coffee. Our complaints were noted but that is all. I couldn't recommend this as a way to spend a pleasant evening I am afraid.
Mytton Fold – Blackburnhad a terrible meal tonight very disappointed
Yu And You – BlackburnFound the oyster and otter on sugar vine and we read the reviews and went last night. We were NOT disappointed. The pub is very well appointed. The service and welcome were great. The food was fantastic- my husband had the fishcakes followed by fish and chips. I had the crab and cider bisque(soup of the day) followed by the Malaysian Seafood Curry. All were really lovely and we will be back there very soon and would highly recommend to anyone
Oyster and Otter – BlackburnMe and my partner stayed her for 1 night and had a lovely time. Due to checking in later than expected we were worried we wouldn't be able to have a meal in the restaurant. However, they still made sure we got our meal with exactly what we wanted. The staff our welcoming, polite and very helpful. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and came with free crisps and biscuits. The bathroom was also very modern. I would recommend anyone to stay here I will definitely come back.
