Celebrity TV chef Ainsley Harriott hosted the event, Lib -Dem leader Sir Vince Cable made a keynote speech and there was even a personal message from PM Theresa May to kick off the inaugural Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards in style at London’s O2 Arena. But when you consider this is a £4 billion industry employing more than 100,000 people across the UK, it’s perhaps no surprise that national politicians sit up and take note.
