Cucina Di Vincenzo Wins Liverpool’s Best Restaurant Award
To say it’s been a successful October for Childwall’s Cucina di Vincenzo would be something of an understatement. The family-run restaurant has picked up two high-profile awards in the space of a fortnight. First was ‘Best Newcomer’ in the Italian Awards, beating off competition from Italian restaurants across the UK at a gala event at Manchester’s Principal Hotel. Then it was named Liverpool’s ‘Best Independent Restaurant’ at the Liverpool Hospitality Association Awards Dinner on October 27 at the city’s Titanic Hotel. They must be doing something right!
Cucina Di Vincenzo opened in Childwall in December 2016, the culmination of a long-held dream for owner Vince Margiotta who previously ran Liverpool’s Sapporo and Il Forno restaurants. It’s a real family affair with Vince’s wife and two daughters all closely involved with the business. The menu offers a good choice with an emphasis on fresh pasta and fish (the Rigatoni Beef Ragu is not to be missed). There's also a concise but well-chosen wine list and house cocktails. Booking is highly recommended – now, especially.
