Full Steam Ahead At The Railway In Sale
The Railway, situated by the canal in the heart of Sale, has now reopened following a substantial four-week refurbishment. The pub has undergone a dramatic transformation externally, including a new colour scheme of greys partnered with fresh signage, atmospheric lighting, external furniture and a heavy planting scheme. The internal refurbishment has provided more space and comfort inside.
Key features of the pub include the innovative bar made from railway sleepers and the bar’s footrail created from railway tracks. The ‘railway’ theme proved an inspiration for both the colour scheme and some of the main features of the pub, where a rich russet tone was used together with new timber flooring throughout the main trading areas. Tony Massey, Business Development Manager at Robinsons Brewery, says: “The Railway is our only pub in Sale, and we felt that it needed to encompass a fresher feel whilst not losing its true character as a great community local. Previously, the pub was heavily football focused, however it now caters for live music and entertainment in a great new setting. The stage area was improved in the main bar area, now proving a great space for live acts.”
The Railway sits within walking distance of Sale’s railway station, and now offers new drinks products including some additional cask ales and lagers complimenting its previous range. The pub now also boasts a great selection of new wines and spirits, with an exciting gin range inclusive of Hendricks, Brockmans, and Warner Edwards Rhubarb.
