Lunya On The Move
Liverpool’s Lunya, the multi-award-winning Catalan deli, restaurant, bar and kitchen is moving after seven years at its current location on College Lane. A consecutive winner of the Good Food Guide North West Restaurant of the Year, Lunya has served more than a million customers to date and is owned and operated by Peter and Elaine Kinsella, who also opened Lunya in Manchester in 2015.

But fear not, Lunya’s new location will be just two doors away from its current College Lane home but with a frontage onto nearby Hanover Street (it’s the site of what was Busaba Thai). Peter Kinsella explains: “It will capture all the features that our existing customers love about Lunya plus it gives us what we’ve always wanted for Lunya, a single floor, with all of our unique aspects fully integrated…deli, restaurant, bar & kitchen…it will all be together and people will be able to dine amongst our products.”

The new-look Lunya will offer a bigger deli, bigger bar and more integrated dining room, yet maintaining the cosy and elegant styling the brand has become famed for - friendly service from engaging staff, the best products from Spain cooked to perfection, stunning hams carved off the bone, a huge array of Spanish wines, spirits, beers and gins and, a modern, contemporary and authentic venue offering the best of Spanish gastronomy in a relaxed and informal setting. The new site will have 50% more space (nearly 6,000 sq ft) than their existing site giving Lunya the opportunity to locate its warehouse operations upstairs, reducing transport costs.

The move will happen in early October, with Lunya literally closing down in one site and almost overnight opening up in the other – right opposite BBC Radio Merseyside. “The move to our new location will enable us to capture even more that authentic tapas bar environment so beloved by us Brits, featuring a fabulous full-length window onto the outside world.” And don’t forget you can order for home too through their online shop which has a wide range of Catalan and Spanish food, drink, kitchenware and gift hampers.
Are only tapas available ?? Any main meals ?
