The menu is plentiful and caters for all tastes and pockets; we opted for the early bird and were more than happy. Staff are very attentive and yet unobtrusive, a mark of a great waiter we feel. My Chicken Korma extra mild was heaven on a plate whilst my husband, used to more spicy food, chose a Madras and again enjoyed his meal. The restaurant's decor is very pleasing to the eye with crisp table covers, low music playing and sparkling glassware. When we walked in having booked the doorway was busy with people waiting for takeaway meals. Whether you decide to eat in and enjoy the comfort and being pampered or take it home, the food is the same -- authentic Indian cooking at its best right there in Thornton. Situated on the prom with outside dining overlooking the sea, it’s beautiful on a summer's evening. We had Barbecued Ribs and Half a Chicken with as much free salad as you can eat. This salad bar is a work of art displaying all manner of different items plus seasonings and dips to cater for every palate. Service is quick and the people are mostly young but very friendly, smart in appearance and very efficient. There is an extensive bar area and very clean loos. We were very well catered for and the prices are about average for a pub meal. Sitting outside on a balmy warm night eating and drinking was pure bliss. We always go there at lunchtime so actually not sure if it opens at night. It’s like going to dine with friends, and is always busy. It’s a family run concern with Pater cooking, a friendly atmosphere, decent prices and lunchtime deals. Plus puddings galore. They do things on toast or bread if you fancy a light bite as well as more traditional options such as pork, lamb or fish. Service is good and the food piping hot. The homemade apple pie with thick custard is a meal in itself. The cafe is clean, prices competitive and it’s a warm friendly place to sit and dine. We urge you to take a stroll down the alley and find it first door on the left. More Information on The Alleyway Café, Poulton Guest Blog by Valerie Dodd Find More Blackpool & Fylde Restaurants
