Black Bull – BoltonDisappointing! No warm welcome, no waitress/waiters-pricey food.....didn't stay to eat....tables dirty...felt a bit scruffy...gutted
The Strawbury Duck – BoltonOn our first visit, we saw on the wall at the entrance that we were to find a table, note the order number and place the order at the bar. So, we went in and started looking for a table. There were quite a few to choose from. A nearby waitress asked 'can I help you' with a clear attitude. We said we were just looking for a table, in which she responded that we had to 'sign in at reception'. So, off we trotted to 'reception', thinking she would follow and serve us. She didn't follow, and we were left standing there waiting for someone to come over. Whilst we were there, we noticed a small chalkboard, with faded chalk writing on , saying please wait here to be seated. A scruffy young man strolled over to us, and asked if 'we were alright'. I asked for a table for 2 and he said we would have to wait 15 minutes. Unsure as to why this was, as I had just walked round the pub to see numerous spare tables, I asked if all the tables were reserved. The young man, shrugged his shoulders, and said 'ummm some of them', so I asked why we couldn't sit at a table which wasn't reserved. Again he said '15 minute wait'. There were no reserved signs on any of the empty tables I had seen. I then asked what the correct procedure to get a table is, as the information supplied by the door is completely different to the faded chalked instruction on the small chalkboard on this 'reception desk'. He just looked at me, not knowing how to respond, presumably because he doesn't know himself. How can a quiet pub justify a 15 minute wait for a table on a Monday evening, with approx half of the tables vacant? What is the point in having 2 conflicting instructions on how to be seated & get served? How can the staff not know the correct procedure in which customers should follow in order to be seated and served. How can a pub/restaurant have such unmotivated and attitude-y staff and expect to attract new customers and keep them loyal? As you may have guessed, we didn't stay to find out what the food was like. I would avoid this place at all costs. It may look aesthetically pleasing, both internally and externally, but the staff were enough to put me off.
Tavern Fayre – BoltonThe service is excellent ,the staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is brilliant for adults and children all are made welcome.Thank you
Harvey’s Cafe Bar – BoltonEasy to find, parking plentiful, convivial bar seating, only a short time to wait for dining, able to add drinks in the bar to a common bill, pleasant service, very very hot food, cooked fine, salad varied and interesting, really very pleased indeed, the closing question - would we go back - YES, plenty of choice for another meal.
Tavern Fayre – BoltonGood menu excellent service friendly staff will definitely be back thank you
The Rose and Crown – BoltonWe have been visiting Nam Ploy for about six years now, the food is just mouth wateringly tasty everything from hot to mild is just so perfect. My partner and the kids just love it . Best Thai restaurant by far.
Nam Ploy – BoltonDined at La Roma on Mothering Sunday, Pre booked table. Dined with 3 Adults and 3 Children. Service was friendly at all! Mains weren't cooked properly, Pasta was cold and salami still cold. The staff were very quick to get us out of the restaurant even though it was really quiet, my Wife hadn't even put her knife and fork down before her plate was taken away from her! Really disappointed, would never consider going back!
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonFantastic place- fantastic food, was not kept waiting, nor had staff hanging over you, perfect balance. had a table entertainer while we waited between courses, will be going again xx
Tum Nuk Thai Restaurant – BoltonThis was the first time we had visited this restaurant and what a brilliant birthday meal we enjoyed. Staff were so friendly ,service so attentive and the food perfect. We will certainly return in the near future
Sottovento – BoltonI went to Baci for my 50th birthday with my husband. This is our first visit. We had been recommended by friends who have been before. When we arrived (to early, as my husband had got mixed up with the time) it was not a problem. We sat next to the window at a table for two. We where given plenty of time to look at the menu. Our starters arrived and looked wonderful, well presented. They where also delicious! When the main arrived my husband said he wished he had ordered more potatoes and veg! I don't think he realised how big his plate and steak that he had ordered were! I had lasagne with peperoni.....it was absolutely fantastic! A friend from France had ordered a sweet for me (by phone), when I said we would just like an after dinner drink the staff came out with a sweet with a candle on and played 'Happy Birthday To Ya' by Stevie Wonder. I cannot fault this restaurant on anything. I have recommended it to friends and will most definitely be going again . Thank You Baci for making my 50th birthday a special day x
Baci Restaurant – BoltonWe have been to the Toby Inn about 6 times over the last 3 years. It has been a delight every time! The food it wonderful the service is just right.I honestly CAN NOT find fault with anything. Well just one thing.......You are too far away to walk to!!!!
Toby Inn – BoltonRecently visited this restaurant after hearing mixed comments from friends. What a pleasant surprise we had, the surroundings are lovely, the staff were very attentive but not over bearing the starters and main meals myself and my boyfriend had were delicious. However, and a slight negative note the desserts were still frozen (not major problem, just ate around the frozen part), and then about 9:30pm the staff disappeared we think to eat their evening meal and we were left trying to get the bill from anyone that would acknowledge us. Apart from this we would go back as the food was lovely but we'd just go earlier on in the evening..
Tum Nuk Thai Restaurant – BoltonGreat food and service as always, best chicken tikka in bolton
Lagan – BoltonWe went to this restaurant with a large family group of 10 people. The service was excellent, the food was served promptly, with an enjoyable period between each course. The wine selection was also very good and the prices were extremely reasonable. I would have no problem in recommending this restaurant to anybody.
