The Rose and Crown – Boltonhi i visited nam ploy last Saturday night, the surroundings, atmosphere was amazing.the food was the best Thai i have ever tasted,it was unbelievably fresh and tasty .i would only ever recommend nam ploy .the staff were really nice and efficient
Nam Ploy – BoltonCalled for a meal last night. Our first visit since it changed hands. On entry we were ushered straight to our table without a chance to relax and have a drink at the bar whilst scanning the menu. When we received the menu the wine list was vary limited with no descriptions of any of the wines. That's the negatives over with. The staff were very friendly and polite and the food was prompt and delicious, My fillet steak was cooked just to my liking and the portions were just right, but the biggest surprise of the night was the bill. I have never had food and service of this quality for such a reasonable price. It looks like the new owners are a young couple trying to make a go of it. I wish them every success. Will I be going back? I've already booked!
Sottovento – BoltonJust enjoyed an absolutely fabulous meal at La Roma. Will be returning in the near future. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Reasonably priced, excellent friendly service and food to die for.
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonWe used to go to La Roma when it was based at the King William in Bromley Cross and were very disappointed when Stefano had to move. We were delighted to find out recently where his new restaurant was and immediately booked for a meal. We were not disappointed. The food was even better than before, you are made welcome as soon as you enter the restaurant until you leave. We have a five year old daughter and she loves going to La Roma especially for the bread sticks and garlic bread with cheese. If you are an italian lover I would highly recommend La Roma for any occasion.
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonSottovento has changed hands, but for the better! The menu is much better now. The staff can't do enough for you. There's no rush and the atmosphere is relaxed.
Sottovento – BoltonWe went to Madisons for a friends birthday. It was possibly one of the worst meals I've ever eaten in a restaurant. The starters went straight from the freezer to the deep fat fryer, my main course salmon had been microwaved. mains were served with Aunt Bessies roast potatoes! The desserts were all from the freezer and doused in squirty canned cream. my children can cook better than that! And the staff treated it like a school canteen! The only saving grace was the singer who was the evenings entertainment. Shocking! never again.
Hot Chilli – BoltonLa Roma is a relaxed Italian restaurant, the food is great & the service is always excellent (its our local as its within walking distance). If you like your food with a bit of a kick I would recommend the arrabiata. If you fancy something other than pizza or pasta, the Pollo Tricolore is really tasty. Its a lovely place to eat and enjoy before or after dinner drinks, with family, friends or for a romantic meal for two. Enjoy x
La Roma Restaurant – Boltondon't know whether I should do this as it could become too popular. Without question this place is one of the best restaurants in the country. Prices are unbelievable, food is superb, setting wonderful all it needs to give that finishing touch is proper napkins(I hate cheap paper ones)
Toby Inn – BoltonWe have tried Sottovento on a few occasions but heard that it was now under new management. We have visited Sottovento again and we were not disappointed, food was fantastic, service excellent and we would recommend to anyone. We will definitely be visiting again.
Sottovento – BoltonThe venue was very welcoming, though the services was very bad and a staff member took my plate without me saying i was done, felt we where being rushed out. Then the lights kept going on and off, Very busy not suitable for a romantic meal, nor would i recommend it, Had to leave our table to pay the bill, The wine is over priced,
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonA very lovely restaurant. Good menu. Prices realistic. Very attentive staff - don't mither you if you're the last table standing - as we most usually are!! Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is lovely and the atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. We go there regularly for girls' nights out, birthdays or just if we fancy a nice meal instead of a take away for a change! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Sottovento – BoltonI decided to try Baci on a one off as my niece had recently got a job there. Whilst the staff were friendly and helpful and the food superb i found the actual service a little hap-hazard. We booked for eight but were not shown to our table until half past. The food, whilst lovely took longer than desired to arrive (approx 30 minutes for the starter and further 40 for the main) but as it was absolutely packed to the rafters it was perhaps understandable. However the main issues for me and my wife were the Italian waiters whom seemed rather brusque and rude, especially when me and wife declined any wine, however that may just be the Italian manner. Furthermore, and the main issue, was that after talking to my brother the following day about the restaurant he asked if we had tipped, which we had, I was then horrified to discover that my niece will have seen none of that tip and the owner and manager keeps them all for himself. Truly shocking I believe and makes me question that whilst the food was good whether I shall return to such an establishment.
Baci Restaurant – Boltoni would recommend this restaurant for its high quality food and brilliant service.
Sottovento – BoltonWe eat at Madisons probably every month. The food is delicious and service very friendly. There is always a good atmosphere and often have live entertainment. Definitely a restaurant to make a regular.
Hot Chilli – BoltonFabulous freshly cooked food, friendly service and a good atmosphere. WE often dine at the King Bill and take family and friends along to who also love the food.
King William – BoltonWe have been going to Baci since its opening and have enjoyed both eating in and takeaway menu. We have gone on several occasions with the kids and with large groups and always have excellent food and great service. It is great to have a good restaurant in walking distance where we can enjoy good food and wine.
Baci Restaurant – BoltonI wish this restaurant was still a best kept secret but the word has spread... It is a warm family friendly Italian with great food, generous portions and a laid back environment that has not compromised on its excellent service. Dress up or down you'll fit in. Modern decor but spacious and the chairs are comfortable. Good parking availability. I’ve been a few times now and they quickly get to know you, Chef has always been very accommodating about little changes. They do take-aways too – much to my husbands appreciation, the steak in peppercorn sauce just melts in the mouth. The pasta is always perfectly al dante, I would recommend the sea food linguine, it’s my favorite. A brilliant place to try mid week – as there are often very good offers.
