I am a French citizen, and have been teaching French in schools in Heckmondwike on a short term contract. Being vegetarian I was feeling lonely and lost here, but fortunately made contact with a vegan couple in Shipley. They invited me over to their home for a weekend and took me to this delightful vegetarian restaurant. I had a leek, potato and goat’s cheese flan which was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately I was full of cold and so did not have the appetite to try the tempting puddings. You Bradford people are very fortunate to have this great restaurant that you can eat in. I wish something like this would open in my home town in France!

The vegetable crumbles are my favourite, - with varieties such as mushroom and almond; aubergine, olives and courgette; etc. The scrumptious accompanying salad makes it the most perfect meal. The soups are deliciously awesome too!

Great food, great service, nice place, nice price . An absolute gem on the edge of the city centre.

Kiplings was ok, nothing special, food was fine nothing really to complain about, although found the place very overpriced. Food selection appeared to be geared towards pleasing the white British curry eaters, nothing too spicy, creative Korma, that type of thing. Having spent considerable time traveling in India, I have to say Kiplings would not be somewhere I would visit again. I experienced a bizarre tex-mex type curry, heavy on the jaggery, staff extremely concerned when I asked for some fresh green chillies to be added, with two of the extremely attentive waiters, near enough saying "are you sure chillies make food very hot?" My partner opted for a vegetable dish, which was enjoyed for the crisp vegetables rather than the spice combination. Our overall experience was one of disappointment rather than terrible eating, Kiplings comes highly recommended on various websites, stating that the chef has won many awards, it's even billed as the official Olympic curry 2012??? All I can say is that the chef must have had a day off. Kashmir is still the best!!

I do not know of any other restaurant where the chef prays to God before she starts the day’s cooking and actually offers the deity the product of her labours. So it is no wonder that Kaushy has won the South Asian Chef of the Year award for three years in succession. The results are very evident in the very imaginative menu at Prashad. The aubergine fritters and the pani puri are my favourite starters, the utthapam and the idli sambar being my favourite main courses. The proprietors and staff are very friendly and always helpful.

Barbara’s salads are absolutely scrumptious and they come in very generous portions too. The crumbles on the specials board are hard to resist. There is always a choice for vegans. The prices are reasonable. The craft shops and the art gallery are added attractions. I only wish it was nearer to our home but that doesn’t deter us from being regulars!

This is an oasis for vegetarians and vegans wishing to eat Indian cuisine in Bradford. It has the added advantage of having Kasuhy Patel, the winner of UK's Best South Asian Chef for three years in a row as the Head Chef. Dishes such as Bhel, Pani Puri, Masala Dosa, Utthapam, Idli Sambar that you would not find in other Asian restaurants are on the menu. One is always given a friendly welcome by the proprietors and staff. The prices are very reasonable too. Once tried it is very difficult not to come back again and again!

If you want authentic Asian food and very reasonable prices this is the place to dine, you can even eat brain curry here if you are adventurous enough unlike me!!! This place has been around for years and there is a reason for this!!!!! This place is not licensed but if you want to enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal they are happy for you to bring your own.

We have been customers at Mamma Mia for many years we have taken our children, now grown up,you are always welcome. In all the years we have gone we have never had a poor meal.It is a family business and families are more than welcome. If you have a birthday or other celebration,Brian one of the waiters will lead the singing and all the staff join and you get a special cocktail. It is the best restaurant in the city centre,I highly recommend it,give it a try.

Last night nine of us went to Dick Hudson's for an evening meal.We bought drinks and went to sit at the table. After we had ordered our food we were then told there was going to be a 40 minute wait.It was about 90 minutes when we finally were told that our meals were about to be plated and wouldn't be long. When the meals eventually came it looked as though some of them had been kept warm somewhere and were dried up. The corn fed chicken wasn't cooked and the meat was pink in the middle and the swordfish had been overcooked and was tough and chewy. Two meals were sent back so the others had all finished eating by the time the meals came back and again the swordfish was tough and chewy and the chicken undercooked and inedible. We got an apology from the waitress even though it wasn't her fault but we won't be going back there in a hurry.

I know that many people when asked to name an Italian restaurant in Bradford city centre would instantly name the one in the Bradford’s West End tucked in between the kebab shops, bars and curry houses - which is endlessly packed out with diners too lazy to explore further afield - but if you walk just another five minutes into town you’ll be heartily rewarded by coming across Mamma Mias on Upper Piccadilly. I ended up in Mamma Mia’s on a weekday evening and was bowled over at how brilliant it was. Delicious food, excellent ambience, and fantastic wine list. It’s a great place to take a large group of friends for some fantastic unpretentious dining - but also I would recommend it for romantic evenings with that special someone. Would thoroughly recommend the pizzas - with authentic toppings and deliciously fresh and thin bases - a true Italian experience. I would recommend this restaurant in a second - and will definitely go back!

I went to Zouk last week and all i can say is whats all the hype about the service was not soo good and the food was average. One of the waiter in particular looked like the owner would not stop looking over at our table when eatng what was kind of intimidating. Go to Akbars instead better food better money!!

every time I have dinned at the Taste of Bengal, the food has been second to none, and the service is first class with very friendly staff, the restaurant isn't over sized and offers a relaxing atmosphere. I can recommend this restaurant, and know that customers will be well blessed

We went here for a meal for a change rather than a take-away. It's been a while since we've been in and they have redecorated the insides. It feels really modern and light, but still feels like a Chinese place. The food is still great and the portion sizes are good. I especially love the aromatic duck which never tastes the same when I get it at home. I think I just like the way they shred it in front of you in the restaurant. The staff are always really friendly and helpful. I'd definitely eat here again.
