Kathmandu – Bristol City CentreGreat Atmosphere Fantastic value and service with a smile. What more can u ask for
Maximillions Deli – Bristol City CentreVery accommodating with menu variations - They always make me an aloo gobi jalfrezi and it never fails to please! Great Garlic naan, although they do have a tendency to overcook their onion bhaji (the benchmark for a good Indian restaurant) Overall... great value - consistent quality - take outs travel well!
Ahmed’s Curry Cafe – Bristol City CentreThe creme de la creme...this is Indian cuisine at it's finest imo! Amazing decor retaining the original features of the stock exchange, it has a real colonial feel and the staff certainly treat you like royalty every time. Super fresh produce used in every dish - no frozen veg here! A superb choice of dishes with a broad selection for vegetarians. I particularly recommend Piaz-e-Bhaji (their take on onion bhaji) and Bagar-e-Begun (Aubergines & potato in a tamarind, peanut, red chilies sauce) lip smacklingly good!
Old India – Bristol City CentreBetween average and Pricey but extremely well worth every penny!! The food is absolutely fabulous and very unusual, the drinks are also very nice with an extremely good selection. Very friendly staff and child friendly (my friend took her baby). Perhaps caters for more unusual tastes, some members of the party would have liked something more basic such as a veggie burger or a veggie chilli, with some chips or plain potatoes, could perhaps cater better for veggies that prefer meals that they know. But on the whole excellent, I will definitely come here again!! Thanks guys!!
Cafe Maitreya – Bristol City CentreIn my view the best Indian restaurant in Bristol, love Indian food and have eaten in many places including Europe. You have to try there and i promise you they'll not disappoint and you'll make this your local Indian restaurant and take-away. Anne Irwin
Old India – Bristol City CentreA really nice place for a drink or a meal. It has an extensive menu, so it is possible to have a light snack or a full dinner. Somewhere I didn't feel uncomfortable on my own.
Deco Lounge – Bristol City CentreFantastic Curry's,the best I have had yet. It's very inexpensive if you take advantage of the 'happy hour' or (try the Korai)! Thank you Ahmed !
Ahmed’s Curry Cafe – Bristol City CentreMy Chicken Dupiaza Madras takeaway is always a goody and a free Bombay Potato every time! Yes Jardish it's Dave
Curry Supreme – Bristol City CentreI heard lots of recommendations from friends and work colleagues about this place, and I would have to say, it's ok, the food is fairly nice but I wouldn't rave about it. I think the actual place needs to be done up a bit (it's not awful just some bits are shabby) to make it feel nicer and add to the atmosphere. I'm surprised they haven't made it feel nicer than it does as it would be relatively simple. The staff were again ok, I wouldn't say amazing - we had to ask for our bill a few times and wait quite a while for it whilst they chatted and shut down the bar etc which is fine, however you'd just think they'd deal with the customers if they wanted to get off home. Food was good - I have had better Mexicans. However I have heard from several people at work that it's the best Mexican they've ever had - so differing opinions! There wasn't a huge range of cocktails and the one I had wasn't especially nice compared to the same cocktail I've had elsewhere.
Casa Mexicana – Bristol City CentreI loved Las Iguanas. Food was great with a good selection of dishes and also a few unusual ones thrown in there. Cocktails excellent - especially if you order in happy hour (before 7 or 7.30 I think), although the only snag is that to get one free you have to order 2 of the same type. The staff have always been really good and helpful with me and generally upbeat and amusing at times. They play great music to suit the feel of the place and it feels really relaxed. I'd really recommend it.
Las Iguanas – Bristol City CentreThe name has now changed to 'good taste' this is the most unbelievably hygienic restaurant and extremely friendly and familiar staff i only live around the corner but would travel miles for this restaurant as hygiene is top of my list of priorities when it comes to food the place is so well presented always fresh flowers and lovely Chinese style plants. Also if you walk by they wave out to you they are so friendly.
Good Taste – Bristol City CentreWe have eaten twice at the Lockside, once for dinner and again for breakfast. Very deceptive from the outside as it looks pretty average, however on entering the Lockside we were quite literally taken aback as it is very contemporary in style with a wonderful ambience. Made to feel very welcome by the owners and the menu was very varied and food delicious, especially the hot chocolate brownie. Have recommended to friends and they have not been disappointed.
Lockside – Bristol City CentreThe meal I had a San Carlo was simply outstanding, first class food. The decor and general feel of the place really sets the scene. Its nice to discover an authentic sheek Italian in Bristol. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a rare night out and chose San Carlo on a friends recommendation. I will definitely be going there again.
San Carlo – Bristol City CentreWe first went to La Grotta may years ago as a young couple, and had a lovely meal. Then we went back when our first child was just 6 months . . . and the very friendly waiter held her while we ate. It was the FIRST break we'd had since she arrived. We've been aboard for 2 years, and return home next week. Our first stop in Bristol will be . . . La Grotta!
La Grotta – Bristol City CentreA great meal,i highly recommend this trendy, friendly restaurant. My girl friend said it was the best meal ever ! had, maybe my best curry for a long time. Very friendly helpful staff, can't wait until i'm in Bristol again.
Oh Calcutta – Bristol City CentreSuperb meal. Very tasty vegetarian moussaka. Included in price was rice & a Greek Side Salad. Friendly staff. Murals of Greek Scenes and Greek Music transported us to Greece!!!
Kebab House The – Bristol City CentreBell's Diner produces the best food in Bristol by a country mile. I have been here many times and never once been less than overwhelmed. Everything on the plate, from the perfectly-cooked texture of the meat/fish, to the big punchy flavour of the sauces, to the immaculate presentation, screams of expertise and genuine care. To be fair, you may need to bring an adventurous palate and the (still reasonable) prices prohibit coming here all the time, but for a memorable fine dining experience there really is no other option. The staff are friendly, open, and knowledgeable without being prim or pretentious. I cannot recommend it enough, I really can't.
