Cobblestones – MineheadI've been going to Casamia since 2000. My wife and I have always found the service charming and friendly. The food offering has evolved steadily over the years, from the standard pizza and pasta plus steaks/chicken of your everyday "Italian" restaurant, to the kind of place that you'd be happy to find if you were looking for high-end fare in Milan or Naples. The service has remained friendly and welcoming (the owners are always in hand), with the food offered by chefs Jonray and Peter absolutely astounding. On more than one occasion (we get there about once a month) I have declared that I am no longer going to attempt to cook a specific dish - I can never hope to meet these levels of technical expertise. The food is now of Michelin-baiting quality. If you love food, and want to spend a relaxed evening enjoying an experience to remember, I wholeheartedly recommend Casamia (remember to book though). If you really want to spoil yourselves, go for the tasting menu. This was only available during the week when we had it, but is a wonderful treat.
Casamia – Westbury-on-TrymThe best ever food and service. I was taken to The Rickshaw last night by some friends as a treat for my birthday. It was second to none. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The manager was very helpful with recommendations from the menu, and the food was delicious. Compliments to the chef! I do hope this message is passed on to the Rickshaw. I was looking for their own website, which they do not appear to have. Whilst dining last night (12th July), the staff appeared with a birthday cake lit with candles, which made the evening very special. I would like to pass on my thanks for the lovely gesture. Also at that time, there were 3 gentlemen dining together, one of whom come over to me as they left to wish me a Happy Birthday....are all the locals as nice and friendly in Bruton?! I wish I'd had the chance to chat to him further! If anyone at The Rickshaw knows who he was, please pass on my email! Thank you again for a fantastic evening. Susan
Rickshaw Chinese Restaurant – BrutonExcellent food & friendly service. By far the best Greek meal I've had.
Entelia – CliftonIf you are looking to experience beautiful cuisine, a wonderfully relaxing ambiance and charming company, I recommend you visit Tongdam. My husband and I were looked after superbly by the restaurants founders Robert and Tino and by the head waiter Joh who made our evening so special! If you have someone you would like to treat for their birthday, you will find your table tastefully decorated with 'sparkles', three small helium balloons with ribbons and an exquisite handmade card from all at Tongdam! We stayed the night in the master bedroom and even with the rain tumbling down outside, with the french doors open onto the balcony and just the sound of the birds singing our relaxation was complete! The following morning we were greeted with the most beautifully prepared breakfast and wonderful fresh coffee. I have to say that everything about Tongdam is wonderful - the food is superb but it's the people that really will make your experience a very special one!
Tongdam Thai Restaurant – Mineheadthe best Indian restaurant out of all in Avon and somerset area. once u are there u will say the same,
Cheddar Cottage – CheddarAbsolutely dreadful place, sarcastic and aggressive staff who make up their own rules of service as they go along. Avoid.
Red Lion Sizzling Pub – BathThree of us ate here and the food was excellent. We all had a grand spread of marinated meats, cooked over charcoal, salads, breads and plenty of Turkish beer. The staff were really great and the bill was £20 each....Job Done!
Ezo – Bristol City CentreVery smart new Italian, very good staff. I had lunch, the pasta with char grilled chicken, pine nut and mascarpone sauce. It was delicious. The downstairs dining room looks fantastic and I want to try it at night.
Nona’s Restaurant – BathI love this place, atmospheric, superb well informed front of house, stunning modern European cooking with fabulous presentation and one of the best wine lists ever.
Bells Diner – Bristol City CentreGreat traditional Italian personal friendly service from great staff, authentic hand spun Pizzas and super pasta dishes. Cant fault it.
Amici – Bristol City CentreGreat quality food here, complex spice yet not in-your-face hot. eaten here three times all excellent. If you are sick of ABC curry sauces try this place.
Ganges – HorfieldThis is the worst place to visit. the pub is pretty enough, yet the owners could curdle milk with their poor customer service and cold food that is masqueraded as a hot menu and the mangers think nothing of abusing customers who want to use carpark, threatening them with a clamp. There are no signs anywhere in the carpark to indicate that would be the case! The mangers think nothing of abusing people in the road and god only knows why they were ever given the responsibility of running a pub! I would advise anyone to avoid going there, the Salthouse, Crabapple all have excellent food and service and i would recommend anyone to avoid this place like the bubonic plague. (unless of course you want to be subjected to a tirade of abuse) Yes i had my children with me and they witnessed this! Absolutely shocking!
Old Inn – Clevedonit is fantastic!!!
HK Diner – Bristol City CentreExcellent Thai food-- the best I have ever tasted. Very fresh, tasty, and healthy! I will definitely go back again and again. I highly recommend this place. Cozy/authentic decor as well.
Lotus Flower – TauntonI wouldn't say it's the best restaurant in Somerset by any means. But it's in a pleasant position, with a door to the Cathedral Green and the menus are creative and good
The Old Spot – WellsMagic and quirky restaurant; ordinary pub-like exterior but surprisingly light interior, with strange and interesting artworks on the walls. Chef Ashley Rainbow has a wonderful talent and his dishes are a delicious combination of tastes and textures, using local ingredients wherever possible. There are five havetobeseentobebelieved bedrooms; one of the bathroom doors is made out of a single slab of wood, including the handle). Lovely, friendly staff.
Wookey Hole Inn The – WellsPeter & Veryan have run this pub with grace, harmony, excellent beers and ciders and very good food for several years. They are very proactive within the village and organise lots of different events - from vintage car rallies to cider & cheese evenings. We've never had a bad meal, nor anything other than a smashing welcome.
The George Inn – WellsTwo hours of dinner and drinks with your friends. Start with your favourite cocktail followed by one of or Pretzel Burgers or 3 small plates. Then enjoy unlimited prosecco, draft Becks, USB cider or mocktails. Available 4pm-10pm Fridays.
Any two dishes for £18 or one for £9/50. Available Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm-2.30pm.
