Lilac at The Chestergate – MacclesfieldMeal for 2 to celebrate a birthday, lovely food and atmosphere, service excellent. Will call again next time we cruise to Lymm on our boat
Elmas Restaurant – LymmLovely food but poor service. Was not asked if further drinks were wanted and once plates were taken we were just left. Not asked if we wanted to order desert or required the bill.
Egerton Arms Astbury – CongletonWent to The Carriers Inn on May Bank holiday. Booked a table to be on the safe side and it was quite busy, we were advised of a 30 min wait but there wasn't a delay in ordering or waiting for food. Excellent food, good sized quantities and a fairly varied menu. Would definitely go back.
The Carriers Inn – FrodshamMy partner and I dined in the restaurant for stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and during that time had 2 evening meals and 2 breakfasts. All meals were lovely and the cleanliness standards were excellent. Breakfast selection was good and for dinner we had a variety of dishes including gravlax, goats cheese, chicken liver parfait, steak, chicken breast, pork fillet and sea bass. The hotel grounds were very nice and we both felt relaxed and happy during our stay. While we (and by 'we' I mean 'I') had some minor quibbles (I have worked in hospitality for approx 20 years), these were very minor and barely affected our stay at all. We will certainly be returning in the future.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordWe called in here after visiting Castaway Play. The food looked good online and it seemed to have a country pub look and feel to it. Our initial reactions were that the service was awful. Our waitress was unpleasant and never came back to take our order (we had to go and ask to order). They slightly improved but we felt like everything was too much trouble. Oh the flip side, the food and drink were extremely good. We had the pie of the day. Really good portion sizes and it tasted truly home cooked. I tried some of our sons pizza, that was also really good. Dough tasted home made along with the sauce. Overall we would go back. I think the service was a blip. And the food was worth it.
Egerton Arms Astbury – CongletonWe absolutely love this hidden gem. The food is exceptional, focused on the very best ingredients and the quality is obvious. The family who own and run this restaurant are just delightful! Best welcome and service we have ever had. Well worth a visit… you will definitely go back.
Carbonara at No 49 – ChesterCame yesterday for a Sunday lunch !! The food was amazing very high standard and quality ! The staff were very friendly and helpful !! We had a little dog with us and the staff gave her treats which was a nice touch. Will definitely be coming back Thank you

Egerton Arms Astbury – CongletonWent to the Carriers on Sunday 30th and we both had the Lamb Sunday roast, can only say the food was excellent. The young lady who served us was very pleasant and would recommend the place no problem. Ron C.
The Carriers Inn – FrodshamOur first visit on saturday night. Absolutely amazing, great food and great service. Loved the platter choices, meatballs fantastic just a shame we couldn't manage desserts. Will definitely come back.
The Salt Bar – MacclesfieldWe went on Saturday the 29th April with friends and was really disappointed. We walked in and they had to add another sitting to our table as they had only set it for four and there was five of us yet this had been booked for 3 weeks . We were sat there for 10mins and nobody came to ask if we wanted a drink or bring menus. I ask a girl if we could have a drink and some menus and bless her she said sorry but actually this isn't my part to be serving. Then the drinks came but still no menus. The food was lovely but the service the guys just put the food down at the end of the table not helpful to put it in the middle no smiles it's a shame . The music was to load we couldn't talk between ourselves it was a real shame as we have been a few times and it's been really good.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldWhat a great evening, as normal food, service & atmosphere were great. We love this independent restaurant right on our doorstep. Well done Team Antalya.
Antalya Bistro – Ellesmere PortVery quiet, not very warm welcome from the young staff. Service was very slow, 35 minutes for 2 pasta dishes. Food when it arrived was very tasty although my risotto was a little “wet”. Puttanesca was very good.
Egerton Arms Astbury – Congletonabsolutely delicious as always wife had teh belly pork so tasty and tender and i had teh chicken curry which was gorgeuos , the food and teh staff are brilliant get yourself down here
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortA really lovely evening, great service and food as always, thank you
Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldThis is the second time that I've dined here and absolutely love it. On the ground floor is the bar with tables and chairs which is also used for the lunchtime dining. With it being early evening we dined in the restaurant on the first floor. The inside of the restaurant is stunning and well set out. The food was excellent and freshly cooked. Prices are very reasonable and the service was first class. We were lucky to be there during 2 for 1 cocktails and couldn't resist in ordering a few. I'll definitely recommend Piccante to my friends and anyone looking to dine in Macclesfield. Thanx to Felipe the chef, Haseena and her staff for another excellent evening and look forward in visiting here again x
