The Royal Oak – NantwichWow what can I say me and my husband had heard good things about lilac cottage and thought for our 25th anniversary we would give it a go and we wasn't disappointed it was amazing so much food outstanding quality and the staff was so attentive nothing was to much trouble we will definitely be back.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldDefinitely our favourite restaurant on the Wirral. Love the food, love the atmosphere. Nice staff, will be back :-)
Sabrosa – OxtonWe visited as a family with our dog, last Sunday. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was good and the service was efficient. We will be returning.
The Royal Oak – NantwichWe went last night for a bank holiday meal out. Lovely atmosphere, a little wait on the food but good service. Food was ok, I would say after the wait it wasn’t the best but not the worst I’ve had either. I had the bangers and mash but my hubby had the pie and loved it. Kids dinners were good portions and everyone loved their desserts. I would recommend blue light card or nhs discount and also to be able to take cash and not just card.
The Royal Oak – NantwichGreat food at very reasonable prices. Super waitress service at the table. Lovely atmosphere in the Oak.
The Royal Oak – NantwichMyself and wife booked in for a Sunday Roast and the place was heaving both inside and out. Our Roast was a bit hit and miss with the Roasted Spuds so hard that even the knife couldn`t open them. But even worst I did expect Mashed Potatoes to come with the main course ie Sunday Roast usually incorporates Mashed. Not so, I had to spend a further £3.50 as it was classed as an "extra". Can`t fault the veg as they were superb. Upon ordering the dessert I had the Cheesecake but they had run out of the Chocolate & Orange but at least they had the Cherry one. Or so I thought !! Sorry but having dined out locally throughout Cheshire I have never had bloody GLACED CHERRIES from a bottle and I was expecting "proper cherry fruit". And finally to add insult they wanted to charge me for an extra pint which I didn`t have nor ordered. So a bit hit and miss but we will return on a midweek mission to sample more food and perhaps we were just unlucky to have visited when they were at a premium with guests. Service by waiters etc was excellent and even the value for money. BUT PLEASE CHEF JUST THROW THE BLOODY GLACED CHEERIES IN THE BIN !!
The Royal Oak – NantwichGreat food, great service. Great night
Babba – WarringtonWe visited the Royal Oak for a meal on Saturday August 27th. The place itself is lovely with a feeling of openness about it. The service was very good but the food was distinctly average. I had the Bangers and Mash which was pleasant enough but my partner had the vegan cottage pie which she described as very dry, tasteless and something she imagined to be akin to "Prison food". In fact she was only able to eat half of it and described it as disgusting. At no point during the consumption of our meal did anyone ask if everything was alright with the meal. There was only one Vegan option on the menu and 2 other vegetarian options which is also a little disappointing As I say, I can't fault the place in terms of ambience and service and maybe we just copped a bad day, but it is fair to say it was very disappointing.
The Royal Oak – NantwichWe had a lovely Sunday dinner here yesterday with 2 toddlers. They were very accommodating and the childrens portions were really good (we should have just got 1 between them). We all enjoyed ourselves and will be back :)
The Royal Oak – NantwichVery disappointed, we pre booked 7 meals for Saturday evening of 20/08/22, one starter Tiger Prawns were cold, one chicken supreme potatoes which should have been mashed were cold and lumpy, the broccoli was cold and not cooked. The second meal was vegetarian pie, the potato mash was lumpy and the pie was cold at the bottom of the dish. Having spoken to the staff stating this was the second time the meals were sub standard and also having a review emailed to me, i phoned and asked if they really wanted me to fill in the questionnaire, the reply was the manager would phone me. As of a week later there has been no response from management, this is why the questionnaire has been filled in. I feel very sorry for the owners who have spent a vast amount of money and time on the Royal Oak to be let down by the quality of food supplied to there customers
