Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldAs by Sheena’s review. Felt like being in Spain!
Sabrosa – OxtonThis was the second time we'd been to the Lilac Cottage and both times the food has been excellent, especially the tapas. It's beautifully decorated inside and the staff are all first class and very friendly. The price is very reasonable and overall a great choice for dining out. Highly recommended.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldReally enjoyed our meal here and would absolutely come again. Only minor issue was when we arrived, the lady seating us (we had booked and arrived on time) was clearly unhappy with something and appeared to have difficulty seating us, audibly stating to another staff member " do you see what I have to deal with" which didn't make us feel particularly welcome. Aside from this, the food was lovely and the waitress serving us was polite and attentive.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldThe best food and service in Lymm! The staff are incredible, cannot do enough for you. Highly recommended
Elmas Restaurant – LymmExcellent food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff
Sabrosa – OxtonPerfect tapas lunch with excellent Rioja. Good service and decor.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldAppalling. One of our party ordered a beef dinner. It came covered in lamb gravy which he couldn't eat. The waitress offered to give him another dry dinner or one with gluten free gravy which he kindly declined as the lamb juices had upset him. No problem she said there'll be no charge for your dinner. We continued with our decidedly average meal and then asked for the bill. Not only were we charged in full but there were extra drinks on it. I spoke to the barperson who told me they couldn't take the money off as they'd offered us an alternative and anyway we hadn't told them we didn't want the gravy. Really! I didn't expect lamb gravy on a beef dinner so why would I think to ask you not to serve it. The outcome I had to pay as they'd prepared it. If I'd had a second meal they'd have deducted it. Total farce. Incidentally 2 weeks prior to this my Mum was grossly overcharged £160 for 4 adults and 2 children's meals. Unfortunately she didn't realise at the time. I'll never go back and advise you all check your bills carefully.
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortLoved Lilac Cottage the moment we walked through the door. The food was just gorgeous, with good portions, well presented, and timed to perfection. The service was fantastic, along with the very pretty interior design that made you feel so relaxed. I can definitely see that this will be a regular haunt for us and so pleased we found this little gem.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldVery disappointed with the service we waited over an hour after ordering our food before it appeared after we asked if there was a problem then felt that the quality was not as good as it could of been .Then when they cleared the table they only cleared 3 of the 4 plates and never came back or asked us if we required anything else so got the bill and left.
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortFood is exceptional and varied. Staff are super friendly and efficient.Cannot fault this restaurant at all.Well done.
Sabrosa – OxtonSuperb food & real ale, the best we had in 5 days in Cheshire. The Lamb kleftico was to die for. Staff were all excellent. We will return in December, the next time we are in Cheshire. A faultless evening we both enjoyed
The Cheshire Yeoman – Ellesmere PortI dined at Carbonara last night with three friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The ambience was relaxed but with attentive staff and the chairs were extremely comfortable which encouraged you to stay longer and enjoy the evening. Quite a small menu which always tells me that everything is cooked fresh to order. We shared a tagliere misto with some bruschetta to start followed by their signature carbonara for three of us and one tagliata as secondi followed by tiramisù and gelato to finish. Everything was cooked to perfection and having lived in Italy for many years myself I know and appreciate good Italian food. I wish them every success and we will be going to try their 3 course lunch as soon as we can.
Carbonara at No 49 – ChesterIncredible food, awesome staff, wonderful atmosphere Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough Superb all round
Elmas Restaurant – LymmFood was incredible the first time we visited, so we were disappointed last night - very average. Some staff were great, whilst the more junior staff clearly need training. A few times we ordered 1 drink/dish and they just walked away without taking the rest of our order. Lovely atmosphere and really nice to have a live singer on - she was great.
