Illuccinis Cafe Bar – CongletonI thought the service was outstanding when we visited the Red Lion last weekend. The sun was out, so we eat outside which was really pleasant and we were served well with no problems at all. I really like the setting of the pub, it's set in the peaceful country side of Cheshire and has a great following of regular customers who are really friendly and a good laugh. I would recommend the food to anyone really, because the menu has something for everyone offering high standard of quality. I recommend the peppered T-Bone steak.
Red Lion – MacclesfieldHaving given this another try I cannot express enough how nice the food was. The staff were very courteous and kind, it makes a difference of someone my age to be able to feel welcome and not a hindrance. Well done to all at the Noggin...
Noggin Inn – WarringtonVisited Red Lion last Friday after reading your review, had a great night out ,very friendly and welcoming atmosphere,my wife had the fish platter (superb) I had the T bone steak which was fantastic. Will definitely call again
Red Lion – MacclesfieldMy boyfriend and I came here last week on a visit to Chester - one of the best restaurant concepts I've ever encountered! The hot and cold buffet was absolutely delicious, and the servings of meat were of very high quality, tender and juicy - perfect. There were ten rounds of meat although I had to refuse three servings towards the end because I'd filled up at the buffet, the food was so good! Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and as much food as you could possibly eat. We loved it and will definitely be returning!
Tropeiro – ChesterService staff excellent, unfortunately the good news stops here. It would appear they have a chef who has decided to invent flavour combinations that all the great chefs have probably come across and disregarded. Prices are top end city centre in a provincial bar? Limited menu, not well executed, infact a total waste of good quality ingredients. Good luck if you decide to give it a try!
Glasshouse Bar and Grill – SandbachVery friendly service and excellent value for money. We went for our anniversary and the food was amazing and great size portions but quality wasn't compromised. Depth of flavour and fresh ingredients, highly recommended, we will return to this restaurant soon.
Ristorante Sergio – ChesterAlways welcomed by friendly staff. Food is excellent and this venue is well worth a visit. Great variety on the tapas menu.
My wife and I are big foodies and we hunt these places out. I can honestly say this was one of the best we've been to in a long while and that's including The Church Green at Lymm, Belle Epoque at Knutsford and The Lions Head at Stockport. I had. 'A Tasting Of Local Pork' Braised Cheek, Confit Belly, Fillet, Blackpudding, Sage & Eddisbury Farm Apple jus £14.75 The wine was Veramonte Sauvignon Blanc 2008 Reserv again really good. Already planning to book for a music night.
The Lord Clyde – MacclesfieldWe've been eating here for over twelve years now, having gone there for family birthdays, a quick bite, lunch, an evening out I can safely say we've never been disappointed. The menu is good traditional Italian with the focus on pasta based meals and pizzas. It is good value for money and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. We have three sons and have taken them there as babies, toddlers and now as almost teens and have never felt they were in any way an inconvenience to the staff. I'd recommend Giovanni's for a relaxed family night out with no hesitation.
Giovannis – CreweI went with my son to show my Canadian daughter-in law how quirky we English can be!!. We ate off the special Sunday menu and were not disappointed. Having been several times before friends and I have always enjoyed on the varied menu and because of the variety my daughter -in -law who is wheat intolerant was find to more than one choice with a little adaptation and help from the kitchen,.One little moan ....I know you were busy Easter Sunday but despite asking again I never got my coffee after a 35 minute wait we left - from table 2 I could see it being made !!! But I will come again I like it too much not to.
Willow Pool – LymmGreat place for lively family outing during the day and good start to the night out in the evening. Doesn't try to be anything more than it is - a good quality Italian. The best thing about Gusto though is the home delivery menu. Beats Dominos on all counts (including price!).
Gusto – Alderley Edgeoverall this was a good experience. The food was above average, if not slightly overpriced. We would go back but don't like it as much as the Brunning and price pubs, the frozen mop and the bears Paw. I think the attention to detail here falls short in several areas and this establishment has a muddled identity. The staff were very friendly and attentive and service was of a high standard. I can recommend the lamb but don't expect large portions. The wine list has some quality wines to choose from. Don't let the excess of olive green paint get you down !! I would give this place 7 1/2 / 10. In summary, room for improvement but a cut above the norm, if money does not matter.
Duke Of Portland – NorthwichI have eaten here twice and enjoyed neither of the meals. We thought the first time might have been a blip so went back again at the weekend to try, as we both love Thai food. The meal was really lacking in flavour and substance, the sizzling beef dish was dry and unappetising, the king prawn dish was very average. It's a shame as I really want to like Aroi Thai as there's no other Thai restaurant now in Nantwich. However I feel the food is really below par and would not go again.
Aroi-Thai – Nantwichone of the best Indian restaurants i have tried in years, so good i travel there every week, if there is a restaurant that i recommend it has to be this one, up there along with the best.
Britannia Spice – ParkgateTook my wife here for breakfast to celebrate the first day of spring! Food and service excellent.....Really friendly staff and clearly passionate about good food and local suppliers. Picked up some great produce from the farm shop as well. Will definitely be back soon!
The Hollies Concept Cafe and Farm Shop – Warringtonheard so many good reviews thought about we checked this Italian and we weren't disappointed! All the family were made very welcome lovely atmosphere with great food, we'll be back soon.
Donatello Pizzeria – WarringtonFabulous bistro, this is my fourth or fifth visit. This time I was there for Mother's Day. I'd booked a table for six (including a 3-year-old and 2-year-old). Four generations of our family went along and we each had something completely different from a fabulous Mother's Day fixed price menu, including a free glass of champagne! Absolutely everything was delicious, cooked by Australian chef Dave. His other half Lorraine looked after front of house and as always her happy and easy manner made us all very relaxed as soon as we arrived. A young waiter was also helping front of house, he was fab&friendly too. The bistro was busy, which is always a good sign, but Dave had staggered bookings so that he was able to prepare excellent quality food with just the right amount of waiting time for everyone. All the other diners certainly seemed to be as satisfied as my own family. Each and every dish that arrived at our table was special, unique and delicious. Starters: I had a wild rice & parsnip fritter, my Sister had crayfish cocktail, my Mum had courgette&lemon soup, my Daughter had tempura chicken with Asian noodles, Babies had melon with berries, currants & coulis. Mains: I had seabass &creamy chive mash, Mum had chicken with brie&sunblushed tomato, Sister had twice-baked cheese souffle, Daughter had sirloin of beef with all the trimmings, Babies had chicken goujons with perfect chips & trimmings. Desserts: I had (exquisite) red wine poached pears, Mum and Sister had (huge) black forest gateau, daughter had (most divine) strawberry souffle, Babies had ice-cream (honeycomb for Oliver, Raspberry for Lilian). We all left feeling very full, and very happy! What more could we have asked for!!
