Trattoria Baci – LymmWe visited La Fattoria's predecessor, Vito's a few years back and decided on are turn visit. The name may have changed but the service, and especially, the quality and quantity of food has improved - if that was at all possible given Vito's excellent reputation at the time. As with all the best Italian restaurants a lot of what goes on in the kitchen is open view, giving the diner entertainment value as his pizza dough is rolled and spun to order as well as the peace of mind of knowing what the kitchen and staff are like. Service, when we visited on a weekday lunchtime, was bright, courteous and with just the right amount of briskness. The tomato and garlic bread for starters was crisp and light with an adequate amount of baked on passata to ensure that it didn't slide off the base. My partner's pollo alla Valdestana was moist and tender with good quality ham and mozzarella and, again, just enough tomato while my Pizza Fiorentina filled its huge plate to perfection with a topping of fresh spinach and a perfectly cooked egg ( one Fiorentina I once ordered had what looked alarmingly like bits of scrambled egg dolloped on top as an afterthought). The chilled Gavi to accompany the food had that zesty freshness which North Italian wines should always have. We'll definitely return to La fattoria next time we visit Chester. Hopefully it will still be the same in name as well as quality.
La Fattoria – ChesterThe food was truly tantalising best Indian in town by far
Vindaloo Indian Restaurant Contemporary Cuisine – PrentonMy wife and I had a beautiful meal in this traditional country pub.
Greyhound Inn At Saughall – Chestergreat place to eat, drink and have an affair, i love this country pub, and its so out of the way and private.Great local trade - good company and great tasting real ales - tractor lads a great laugh and they are perfect gentlemen.
Carden Arms – MalpasVery nice best Indian i have tried all the other comments i agree with you best Indian in Cheshire, nice service, and very polite staff and good standard
Frodsham Tandoori – FrodshamLove the new refurb! Subtle but a lot softer and lighter. New menu was huge, so big we had trouble making our minds up! When we did we were not disappointed, the Rib eye was wonderful, obviously sourced from a really good supplier. Although very busy the service was fantastic and the atmosphere vibrant. All this just 2 miles down the road!!
Pesto at Cabbage Hall – TarporleyThey took an age to find us a table even though it was empty. After taking our order and 2 drinks each later we waited an hour and then gave up and left.
Pizza Hut (Winwick Road) – WarringtonGreat place £3,50 for a carvery meal all day every day except Sunday when its nearly double We have been lots and it is always good and always busy Go there soon
Ye Olde Manor – CreweI read the reviews of this restaurant on this website and thought it would be good I was sadly disappointed when I went for a meal with my girlfriend. I ordered a medium steak with all the trimmings and my girlfriend ordered a linguini verdi off the specials when the steak come it was cooked well done and my girlfriends meal was dry and cold we sent them back only to get the same meal sent back to us warmed up in the microwave. My steak was cooked ok this time but the salad was the same salad and was rotten and chips where the same and had just been refried. This was quite possibly the worst meal I have ever been for. I am a Chef myself and this place is absolutely awful and well over priced
Bella Italia – Ellesmere PortMAY 3 2009 Just ate, or rather tried to eat here after a stop off at Etherow park, one reason drew us to this spot, (time) we needed to eat as we had to pick up our children and then take them somewhere else. We ordered a Hot pot pie from the restaurant menu and a rump steak baguette, which, as was my preference to be cooked medium rare. The two came but the steak baguette was over cooked beyond redemption, also it looked suspiciously like the meat had stood at some point as it had surfaces to it that were dried out. When i asked the waitress did she ask the chef to cook my steak med rare, she said she had and would i like her to take it back. I agreed only to be met 1 minute later by a very rude and aggressive man who claimed he couldnt cook it med rare as "it was not hot enough" not sure what he meant by that but i presume he meant the stove. When i then asked could he provide me with what i ordered he went into the most bizarre rant and repeated over again that "it comes in strips and that it cant be cooked med rare" He then produced the strips of meat that were cooked exactly the way i would have wanted them and said "look they have got blood in it " With some surprise !!!!!!!!!! I then asked was it a problem at which the guy replied "actually it was" So i asked not to bother and indeed that is what he did. Now far be it for me to assume, but i thought steak does'nt always come in strips but in erm....... steak form. I paid for the hot pot which my wife told me was just ok and the drinks we had. i spoke to the other person which i now believe to be the guys partner and she told me he was'nt a chef. Hmmmmm then why was he cooking ? Does he have basic food handlers certificate ? My advice to anyone is do not eat there at all costs ! If you like your pint served with rudeness then this is the place for you if not find somewhere where they do want your custom.
Barnhouse, The – MarpleA little gem - great food - ever changing menu and the wines are great. Staff are very good and make you feel relaxed - consistently enjoy my visits and travel 25 miles to get there but its worth it
Plough and Flail Inn The – Knutsfordworst experience of service and food for a long time waited over 1 hour for a salad and a gammon dish came cold so sent back only for it to be microwaved could understand if busy but this was at 5 pm and only a handful of people where eating did get a complimentary bottle of wine for the experience you may not put this on the site but please feel free to pass on to the miners arms as they need to get there act up and running will go back for a drink only completely put off the food side of things.
The Miners Arms – Macclesfieldjust found this after reading a local paper, super place, great with teenagers loved the 60s jukebox, food is great best in Chester apart from all the popular diner style burgers, and loads of other stuff, international specials brilliant fresh made Thai curry, guys ( gay ) are great as are rest of staff and used to live in far east so food for me was top. missus had Sardinian seafood stew with garlic bread, boys had huge hand made burger stacks with bacon/cheese and huge thick fries go see how good this place is deserves awards
Blue Moon Cafe – Chestermarvellous meal, with friendly staff & food to die for!! Looking forward to our next visit.
Delgados – WarringtonExcellent food and service, it always seems to be busy so if you have to travel a distance it may be advisable to ring first.
Don Luigi – WarringtonWe went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, absolutely wonderful the food and the staff were so helpful would highly recommend a visit.
1851 Restaurant @ Peckforton Castle – TarporleyWe found a lovely homely place in picturesque countryside to enjoy an incredibly delicious home made hot meal and a sandwich and a pot of tea. The scones are the best I have had and the price and service is very good. A great feeling sat next to the wood fire burner. Thank you, I will definitely come back again and again and cannot wait for the sunshine to sit on the tables outside and enjoy the beauty surrounding this place. I will be recommending to my friends and family.
