Frodsham Tandoori – FrodshamMy husband and I ate here on Saturday night (3rd jan) to finish off our Christmas break. The restaurant was quiet as you would expect at this time of year. We have eaten here once before and would highly recommend it. The service was excellent and the staff extremely pleasant. We went for 'tapas' this time and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Last time we had the prawn and chicken brochettes which were also delicious. The food was very fresh and cooked to order. Try the chicken in a cream sauce with prunes off the tapas menu - superb. Good choice of wines, especially their recommended rioja.
We have visited Carriages many times and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and such good value, it truly is a little gem of a place hidden away in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. We certainly will go again and recommend it to anyone!
Carriages Restaurant – Chesterthis has to be the best indian restaurant in the area of crewe fast friendly service and since it has been given its face lift it looks worlds better this place is certainly worth the visit even if you are out of the area i will certainly be coming back for years to come.
Passage To India – CreweI would hardly say this is a recommendation. We had our work Xmas meal at Peckforton Castle last Saturday 13th December. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had and all the staff felt likewise. The only choice of starter, the vegetable broth was like dirty dish water and tasteless with just a few bits of carrots and rice grains floating about in it. The vegetarian main, mushroom risotto had about 2 bits of mushroom and tasted like overcooked rice in milk. This for £42.50 per head is a joke!!! We were shunted around from bar to bar, seemingly to get out of everyone else's way and packed in round the tables like sardines. The only saving grace was the jester. Never again.
1851 Restaurant @ Peckforton Castle – TarporleyWent to the Hooton on Sunday 14/12/08 as I had heard about the Sunday carvery, and I was not disappointed. We were met by a very friendly member of staff who showed us to our table. She then told that we could choose from the Sunday menu or the carvery. We opted for the carvery which was the right choice. We could choose from 3 meats, fresh veg, Yorkshire pudding and lovely roast potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection and at £7.95 it was great value too. We will be returning to the Hooton very soon and I would recommend that anyone reading this should also visit.
The Hooton – Ellesmere Portwe had my mothers 75th birthday at the holly bush, it was fantastic, the food, service, and staff were excellent. the owners were polite and very accommodating especially with the young, old and disabled.
Holly Bush Inn – SandbachThis is a top class "traditional" Indian restaurant. Not much in the way of maple and chrome and dance music, but the food is outstanding, and the service/staff are brilliant. Highly recommended, good range of food, and VERY reasonably priced.
Spice Balti – ChesterLovely food, although not very warm. Service was absolutely terrible. We waited an hour for starter. Management didn't think this was a problem. We also had to go to the bar to get drinks as waiters didn't come to table.
Duke Of Portland – NorthwichWell i certainly DON'T recommend this pub/so called restaurant to anyone!! A family of 14 (that's including 1 toddler and 2 active babies) went for a BOOKED christmas lunch it was my son's 3rd birthday and also my mother in law's so it was a great chance for everyone to get together again for what we though sounded like a lovely meal, WELL we got poor service, and very very poor food!! We did not get the christmas lunch instead we got a poor carvery, meat that was so tough, dry, stringy, and over done, the roast potatoes were black and soggy, there was only 3 veg carrot's and sweetcorn which were not up to much but the sprouts were the only thing that was ok!! The pudding had so much brandy in the sauce it was unbelievable! i'm pregnant and didn't eat it all because of how strong it was i wasn't the only one. We all were waiting for coffee and mince pie's.... we didn't get the mince pie's. The service was poor we were there for 4 hours and it cost £15.95 a head!! We did complain but we were not taken seriously! Apparently we made the same complaint last year.. we wern't there last year!! Anyway i can write pages of what else was inadequate with this place..NEVER again shall we return.
The Hooton – Ellesmere Porthad a take away last night bit late coming but they do say good things come to those who wait, and it was very good. its encouraged me to try other things. so thanks for the lovely meal. us posties will keep coming that's a promise.
Passage To India – Crewei hate what they have there but you know you don't see whats behind the close doors but i will tell because i dont want non of you coming down with a nasty cold or something much worst, i have being doing work Experience and i thought i will like it until i saw the kitchen eww eww sorry anyway, i walked in i nealy slipped because the floor was wet but then i noticed a rotten drink at the back it was a J2O but the woman said she likes to cook it in stuff i was like eww you know how many GERMS there is anyway i was carrying on and i watched them clean and wash dishes well you know they didnt clean it proper because they didnt even use washing up stuff anyway, i saw all the cooking materials and i noticed that everything was dirty and greasy it was like cooking in a nightmare, you know it was horrible i even noticed that in the corners there was dirt the kitchen is not even big enough for 1 person because it is that small. i started work exsperine on the 1st dec and finshed on the 2nd dec 08.
Illuccinis Cafe Bar – CongletonWe have been going here for 13 years & we live in California, but do have a residence in Nantwich as well! It is the best place for great quality food, consistently. The brothers are the best. We wish they would open a NAAZ in Cali!
Naaz Tandoori – NantwichHad a meal on Thursday evening. Surprisingly busy considering the "recession" Had the fixed price menu, superb value for money, food was good and nice atmosphere.
Marsh Cat Restaurant – ParkgateI have lived in Macclesfield all my life and didnt have a clue that The Coffee Tavern was in existence. I do now!!! We went for lunch and a pot of tea and it was just beautiful. The fire was beautiful and the food was incredible. We will be going back alot . Many thanks for the experience
Coffee Tavern The – MacclesfieldWell, what can i say i love the food, i have only ever had a take away but i would think eating in would be even better.
Efes Brasserie – Warringtonexcellent menue and service
Went to the Thai section of the restaurant with a group of friends. The food was very good and not over-priced. However, the service left much to be desired - the waiters were generally disinterested from the moment we turned up, the bill was incorrect in several respects and the service was slow. Pity, really.
