Always great at Elmas, great menu choice, always reliable
Elmas Restaurant – LymmLovely setting with a massive garden area next to the lake. 3 of us visited and all had the Sunday roast which was delicious - generous portion (especially gravy!) and the service was excellent.
The Carriers Inn – FrodshamComfortable night’s sleep. Our room was near the kitchen so noisy extractors. Evening meal was well presented. One chicken dish and the other plaice. Chicken was succulent with a mushroom sauce. Plaice with samphire and brown shrimps tasty, but lacked carbs so ordered separately. Waiting staff very attentive and professional. Breakfast choices were varied, especially the ones to order, such as eggs Benedict. Over all, a good stopping place between Scotland and the South West.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordWe went to Lilac Cottage again and brought our friends with us we were not disappointed, the food, cocktails, and the ambience was just perfect. Every time we go we always have such a lovely time and also come away very happy with our bellies full. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and always tell our friends of this hidden gem of a tapas restaurant. Definitely a must to visit.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldThe staff were friendly. Lovely roast meal and good selection of desserts.
The Egerton Arms Broxton – ChesterThis beautiful country house in lovely gardens, sadly flatters to deceive. There is little care and attention to cleanliness outside and inside the property, with little evidence of any kind of ongoing maintenance. It all felt quite odd, from the lack of welcome, to being asked to sit and wait in the bar but with no drink or explanation offered, to being asked twice if we were here for lunch. ANd then if we had a voucher. The Sunday Lunch menu was a 2/3 course set menu with limited choice. We were sat in a room with no other diners. Other rooms were busy with Afternoon Tea diners. The light fittings were faulty and so the main light was not on, in an already gloomy room. If not for the luck of sunshine, we'd have been in a pretty dark environment. I ordered a bottle of sparkling water but was told I could only have a large one. I asked for ice specifically but none came. We got the distinct feeling that no-one really cared. The lunch was decidedly average, the roast beef in particular cooked beyond actual taste. The gravy its only saving grace. We didn't risk pudding. I can't believe the AA would now provide a Rosette. As we walked out, having to get up to ask for the bill at the bar after a lengthy wait, we both thought what a shame that such a lovely property and grounds were so poorly kept.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordBooked afternoon tea for 4 people, Beautiful setting, Nice welcome, staff very attentive and helpful. Food was delicious, very fresh, scones were still warm absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend.
Mere Court Restaurant – KnutsfordMy wife and I celebrated our 4th anniversary in this wonderful restaurant. By far this is the best Italian restaurant we have had the pleasure of dinning in since our honeymoon in Rome. Wonderful authentic Italian food. The service was wonderful, with Sam paying such attention to detail and being a wonderful host. We will be back for another amazing meal soon!
Carbonara at No 49 – ChesterBest India EVER staff are excellent and so friendly.. would recommend anyone to eat here .. same such a long way away or would be my regular.. thanks guys for a great evening
Birchwood Spice – WarringtonGreat restaurant - nice food, and good service. This place is ideal for a night out when you want something different to a gastro pub (of which there are plenty in the area). We would definitely recommend Panama’s in Spurstow.
Panama Hattys Restaurant & Bar – TarporleySuperb food, superb service highly recommend
Birchwood Spice – WarringtonI had a meal with my sexy friend last night and the meal was bland, thank goodness we weren’t of that ilk otherwise our date, sorry night out, might have been ruined. The drinks were not great, warm white wine and not very appealing glasses for the MILF sat opposite me to drink out of. The table arrangement was odd, I had to sit on two cushions propping myself up so I didn’t look like Freddy Benson in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels because I was sat on a windowsill. Anyway, it’s not the end of the world having first world problems like these, but I wouldn’t rush back.
Lilac Cottage Tapas & Wine Bar – MacclesfieldWent on Saturday evening just husband and myself and had a lovely meal. We both had the Steak pie and it was delicious, all food piping hot and the chips were great, I have a weakness for chips. Big portions, we couldn't finish everything but probably younger people would. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again and would strongly recommend it.
The Carriers Inn – FrodshamPerfect again and again!
Birchwood Spice – WarringtonWe had our fathers wake at the Egerton Arms. I can honestly say that the whole experience was incredible. Chandra and her team provided fantastic service and the food was superb. We had an Italian buffet followed by Tiramisu. Many of those who attended have commented on both the food and how helpful the staff were. Prior to this I had not visited the Egerton Arms for a few years but will definitely be returning.
Egerton Arms Astbury – CongletonAnother lovely meal at Carbonara. Food delicious as always, and service excellent. We will be back again soon. Thank you Sam x
Carbonara at No 49 – ChesterLovely food, really friendly staff. Very lively atmosphere; I assume lots of regulars as there was a lot of cross table walking around and chatting. Not ideal for a peaceful meal/date night but that’s not the fault of Elmas - the food was delicious and wine was good.
Elmas Restaurant – LymmA lovely lunch, thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. A little gem in the heart of Pressburg. Thank you Mike.
