Pesto At The Yacht – ChesterExcellent lunch at a beautiful spot on the river Dee in Chester. The place to go especially on a summers day!
Popped in here for a quick bite at lunchtime ahead of my son’s graduation ceremony across the road at the Cathedral. Busy but friendly staff and tasty food.
The Coach House – ChesterWhat a great find. We were looking for somewhere close by Chester and Christleton is probably the closest village. Tiptop food with loads of choice and I would highly recommend if you are in the area.
Ring O’Bells – ChesterFabulous restaurant. Food is divine, wine list extensive and they even brew their own beer. A great find even if a little off of he beaten track...well worth a drive out (just past the ice cream farm). Can't recommend highly enough.
The Calveley Kitchen – ChesterI had a gorgeous meal last night!

Bunbury Arms – ChesterMy husband booked a meal at your restaurant in Chester for my 50 th birthday. The service was appalling.1. We ordered 1 bottle of red wine and 1 bottle of white When the wine came i tasted the wine which in my opion was on the warm side, only to be told by the waiter "I don't think so as it has been in the fridge for 2 days" its the glass thats warm!!!!2. Starter was fab, althought i was so looking forward to my dinner i did not have one3. As my dinner was complementary my hushaband orered the Wagu beef with a side order of field mushrooms and root veg 4. The Chips did not turn up with my hushands dinner, and when he asked they did come instantly (Hot)5. When we tasted the other food it was decidedly cold, when we questioned this we were told it had been "sitting on the pass for to long"We paid for the wine and left but my point is I was so disappointed with the service.
The Grill On Newgate Street – ChesterStayed at caravan club site for a week and came for our last meal, having walked past the beautiful pub earlier in the week . My husband were spoilt for choice but settled for Thai fishcakes , steak and ale pie and crispy belly pork with black pudding . Then I finished with blueberry cheesecake and cream . The entire meal was delicious and well presented - home cooked food at its very best . The young staff were all very attentive and polite and friendly . We will definitely return and heartily recommend this pretty pub and restaurant . Many thanks
Bunbury Arms – ChesterGreat lunch today after a hard days shopping in the sun! Good food and venue.
Hickory’s Smokehouse – ChesterFirst visit today at the Stamford Bridge inn Tarvinvery impressed with the service and quality of the food. Great atmosphere and very welcoming. Will be back.
The Stamford Bridge Inn – ChesterMum and I have just returned after having a delightful lunch at the bunbury. We had sandwiches, with an excellent glass of white wine, followed by a chocolate fudge cake with pouring cream!!. The atmosphere was homely with a lovely roaring fire. will certainly return, everything was just lovely.
Bunbury Arms – ChesterFirst visit to the Mockingbird Taproom in Chester and had a great night. The menu has lots of interesting choices as well as the sort of Tex-Mex stuff (nachos, burgers) you might expect. I had a spicy gumbo from the main menu and my wife a prawn and chorizo jamabalaya from the specials board. Presentation is quirky and the venue is lively (with some great tunes from the DJ when we visited on Saturday evening). If there’s a group of you the central bench tables look a good bet but if you’re a 4 I would ask for one of the round tables as the oblong ones are a bit of a tight squeeze. Good selection of bottled craft beers and New World wines to complement the food.
Mockingbird Taproom – ChesterFab food, great service, will be going again soon. Thanks.
The Stamford Bridge Inn – ChesterJust booked a table for 10 for Christmas dinner. The food is great I have been going for years and would recommend it to anybody.
Bunbury Arms – ChesterMy husband and I went to Bunbury Arms yesterday evening (have been going to Bunbury Arms on and off for a few years) and we both had 8oz rump steak with chips, onion rings, tomato, 2 small mushrooms and garnish and Peppercorn and Diane sauce where we paid over £32 for just 2 meals. We were both disappointed with meal in respect of garnish not being fresh and sauces were tasteless and watery and also meal seemed a bit lost on plate. We were asked if our meals were ok when we FIRST got meal (as waiting for tomato sauce) so couldn’t really comment and then asked when we finished our meal to which we informed that we were disappointed and it was the worst meal we had ever had in there. The Waitress seemed to be shocked, and we were disappointed nobody came over to discuss our disappointment.
Bunbury Arms – ChesterCalled for meal at 16.40 on 24/03/2015. Service was quick, food excellent as it always is when we eat there.
