Cafe Naj – ChesterDined at Oddfellows, Chester last week with friends, food and service was fab and the atmosphere was good considering it was midweek. We enjoyed drinks outside after the meal and was lovely to have table service outside and not have to keep going to the bar. Cant wait for our next visit
Cultivated by Elliot Hill @ Oddfellows – ChesterHave had take-away twice from Cherry Valley and both times found it to be OK but no more. Fairly pricey considering the quality.
Cherry Valley Eating House – Chester.....I visited this Cafe! for the second time the other day,to call this a Cafe is so wrong, true they have a huge diner style menu but the daily specials are so interesting; removed from the usual pan fried sea bass stuff, I had a Moroccan Harria dish, must be the best food I have eaten in years. My wife Clam Chowder she said - 'more please'. Just wanted to say Thanks to the staff who must rate as the most friendly in Chester. See you guys again soon.Pete/Kelly Knowles
Blue Moon Cafe – ChesterThe Blackhouse Grill in Chester is a gem of a restaurant. Great selection of food cooked to perfection, tremendous service, in a lively bustling atmosphere. A great selection of wines means that the Blackhouse Grill has everything you need for a perfect meal out in Chester.... I have been on many occasions and even on Mondays and Tuesdays the place is buzzing and the it is a really good night.
The Grill On Newgate Street – ChesterThe Gunnery is my new favourite place to eat! I had the special boar main course which wouldn't have been out of place on the Grosvenor menu. Brilliant!
The Gunnery Bar & Restaurant – ChesterMy boyfriend and I came here last week on a visit to Chester - one of the best restaurant concepts I've ever encountered! The hot and cold buffet was absolutely delicious, and the servings of meat were of very high quality, tender and juicy - perfect. There were ten rounds of meat although I had to refuse three servings towards the end because I'd filled up at the buffet, the food was so good! Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and as much food as you could possibly eat. We loved it and will definitely be returning!
Tropeiro – ChesterVery friendly service and excellent value for money. We went for our anniversary and the food was amazing and great size portions but quality wasn't compromised. Depth of flavour and fresh ingredients, highly recommended, we will return to this restaurant soon.
Ristorante Sergio – ChesterA total disappointment! Unfortunately I had an awful experience at this place. The place is indeed cute, with a nice interior and the location alongside the canal is ideal for a nice lunch. However, I found it dirty and the managers behaviour was a total disgrace: I found him rude, patronising, unreasonable and totally unprofessional! I was upset leaving the place and I am 6 months pregnant - he has no idea how to talk to people. He actually stuck his finger in my food to try to prove to me that I was wrong that it wasn't very hot, and then expected me to eat it after that, because he was definitely refusing to give me a refund, for a £6 omelette. He actually told me he was a millionaire and had no time for my comments, even though I was perfectly polite. Nice location or not, it is the people that make a place. Slow service, cold food and then nasty attitudes, from the management, made this the worst dining experience I have ever had. My advice to potential customers: either don't go, or at least ask for a receipt and DO NOT PAY until after you have been served. A total disappointment!
Blue Moon Cafe – Chesterfour of us went 6 march 2010 and had a memorable dining experience, great food in a great restaurant served by great staff, no more needs to be said
La Fattoria – ChesterA total disaster, not an experience I would ever want to repeat. Four out of six diners had to reorder food as their initial choice was "out of stock". Two kids were offered free puddings as compensation, only to later be told they couldn't have the dessert they wanted, it had to be ice-cream. Waited 25 mins for table to be cleared, waited 30 mins for kids ice cream, before reminding waiter. Nothing at all would encourage me to revisit this establishment. I recommend you don't waste your time or money.
After the restyling, the Bollicini is really great. Good food, fantastic wine, best cocktail around. The staff are your friends, as soon you get in. Try it. I came all the way from Milano Italy to try this place. Really worth it.
Bollicini – ChesterLovely lovely lovely! Went here in August and it was gorgeous! Really nice atmosphere, relaxed and not formal (tho it was bank holiday Monday at around 5pm but it was busy). Friendly staff all of which were italian (sounds odd but i have been to some "italians" where the staff including the chefs are English, so hence they cant cook "real" italian food)! Couldn't fault anything, there was 7 of us and everything was delicious! Have returned since and have recommended to friends who were all equally impressed!
La Fattoria – Chesterthis is just the best in Chester have been many times since it opened the staff are wonderful the food fantastic but the booking system does not work if you want to queue its worth the wait
La Fattoria – Chesterover priced cheap and nasty mix grill over £12 not worth £4 recommend they review the prices and food quality
If you want to treat yourself and your family to a really good Sunday Lunch, you cannot get better than here. The Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pud is as good as the best your mother could make. Probably better than most mother's, but not mine, I come from a family that appreciates and knows about good cooking and that is what you get here. I don't say they never get anything wrong, once I had an overdone (burnt) yorkshire pud, but the beef was perfect, the creamed leeks excellent and the rest of the veg. all you could wish for. I know that was a one off and would happily spend every Sunday here!
Barlounge – ChesterIf you want to enjoy a really good Chinese meal in Chester, this is your only option. Do not be put off by the setting, I was for years and consequently missed out for far too long. The tables are very close together and the decor is rather 'kitsch', but the food and service are both great. If you live close by and want to have a takeaway, it isn't a cheap option, but, it is usually ready in 15mins and you will be able to enjoy a restaurant quality meal in the comfort of your own home.
Cherry Valley Eating House – ChesterMidweek Menu: 2 courses for £15.
