Zizzi – ChesterFriendly staff, above average service and good food is what we found. Dishes were just as they were described and very enjoyable, although our steaks were on the rare side of how we ordered them. It wasn't even too loud at the height of the evening, and this on a Saturday night.
Moules A Go-Go – Chesterwe went to bollicini last friday the food was terrible, although the restaurant was full. The service was just has bad,a rude waitress insisted that the service was so bad because of the shortage of staff. The toilets was dirty and looked unattended we returned our food and asked the waiter for a clean plate. The glass was dirty and also replaced. I have been here before and enjoyed it but i believe the standards have dropped so much i wouldn't recommend it again theres lots of better restaurants in chester to choose from
Bollicini – ChesterMe and two of my friends went here on a whim on Monday night 25th Feb and it was really worth it! We chose the Thai restaurant upstairs, service was impeccable and food was out of this world, best Thai I've had in a long time, will definitely go again. can't fault it! Not impressed easily and always super critical (friends are chefs and i am a restaurant owner) Well done! A delightful place to eat, thankyou!
Siam Thai and Teppanyaki – ChesterWent here at the weekend and would recommend to anyone. Ordered our food and it came out within minutes and it was delicious. You need to book a table as they were turning people away at the door and it was only 7:30!
Fiesta Havana – ChesterWe again visited Carriages In Chester on Valentines day, some 2 years after our last visit in 2006.Once again we had a superb evening, top class food, nice wine, and in a really nice atmosphere. I defy anyone to find a better evening, and at such a remarkable price. I you have not tried this restaurant yet, then i suggest you do, you will not be disappointed. Many thanks to all the staff regards Graham Futcher
Carriages Restaurant – ChesterWOW quite simply the best meal we have EVER eaten in out lives! I can honestly say that I had goosebumps with every mouthful as the taste was soooo delicious! The steak was cooked to perfection the homecooked thick chips and diane sauce were devine and worth every penny!we ate in the private dining room upstairs which was soooo romantic, the ambience and plush leather sofas were amazing and the service was simply outstanding! we were treated like royalty. I really can't praise this place enough and can't wait to go back! 10 out of 10 just isn't enough as this place is off the scale!!!!
Upstairs At The Grill – ChesterI've been to Duttons twice now & the food has been lovely both times. First time I had a sweet chilli noodle stir fry, yesterday I had the winter stew. Both meals were beautiful & the wine is really reasonable & very nice. I'd recommend Duttons to everyone.
Duttons – ChesterToday we went to the Coach House Restaurant in Chester. We were served our soup and roll which was quite nice, but then had to wait 50 minutes for our main meal which was poor. We had to remind the manager twice that we had been waiting for our main course. Would definitely not go back again.
The Coach House – ChesterThe staff were friendly and helpful however they were let down by the appalling food that came out of the kitchen. The waitress looked embarrassed to be serving such rubbish. We waited almost an hour for a table and then about 40 minutes for food so you can imagine we were quite hungry by then. White wine was served warm, then when we asked if we could have some cold white wine they brought it with ice in! Calamari in doughnut batter ugh!! Fajitas - a warm sizzle plate covered with fried onions and red peppers topped with slices of cold roast chicken - not a hint of spice anywhere. Cajun chicken - a huge plate of green salad with a few small shreds of the same cold roast chicken thrown in. Unbelievable and what courage the chef must have had to send out those dishes from the kitchen - or maybe they just don't give a damn considering that the place gets really full once the disco starts. Surely not the place if you like good food.
Fiesta Havana – ChesterThis is a unique experience. Food is made on the premises and caters for diets - compares very well with National Trust standard. You eat in a magnificent 'chapel' with stained glass windows and vaulted ceiling. A must for tourists. A minor carp is that whilst being served at the buffet and then paying - the food cools. At busy times make sure that you find your table before you buy your meal.
Chester Cathedral Refectory Restaurant – ChesterWe stayed at The Pheasant last year and are returning again this month. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast all of which were excellent. Lunch was simple, very tasty and definitely very fresh! Our evening meal was amazing, we are all "foodies" and very difficult to please. We struggled to decide from the menu, even though it was appropriately concise. My first choice was "sold out" but I see this as a good sign of fresh produce. Everyone enjoyed their food, it was cooked to perfection and the flavours were superb. Breakfast was tradition on a plate. Everything an English Breakfast should be and cooked the way it should be! On top of that the place is gorgeous, the sofas and fireplaces are homely. The rooms are spotless and let me tell you the view......WOW.
Pheasant Inn – ChesterI'm very fond of their lunch time menu - i'd recommend the duck in plum sauce wrap
The Slug and Lettuce – ChesterWe came across The Pheasant Inn when we were looking for a quick bite to eat. It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside admiring the view. The food was gorgeous, a bit pricey but worth it!
Pheasant Inn – Chesteralways enjoy our visit but disappointed when we are a party of seven and find three diners sitting at a table meant for seven or more perhaps staff should guide diners to suitable table.potential diners should approach staff to be shown suitable table so that larger parties are catered for otherwise they will go elsewhere. menu and food is too good to miss
The step in is has good quality food me and my boyfriend go there a lot ands my mum and dad have been going there for years!!!
Step In India – ChesterThe Siam restaurant has a Japanese restaurant on the ground floor and Thai on the 1st floor. I have been to both several times, and definitely rate the Thai restaurant as one of the best I have been to in the North West. Slightly above average prices compared with other Thai restaurants in the area, but worth it. The Japanese area has several Teppan Yaki tables, where chefs cook in front of you. If you know your Japanese food (and I do, I studied and travelled in Japan), then be prepared, the chefs are not Japanese, and the tricks a bit lame at times. Its good fun with a group, but if you want real Japanese food there are better places to go in Manchester for example. I'd go for the Thai every time myself.
Siam Thai and Teppanyaki – ChesterGood meal, the best in Chester
Summer Palace – ChesterMidweek Menu: 2 courses for £15.
