Very impressed, one of the best Indian Meals I've eaten.
The Elephant – ChorleyA traditional old pub feel. Young staff always very pleasant and efficient. Portions generally very generous, cooked well and presented well.
The Beaumont – ChorleyVery smart refurbishment, excellent pizzas. Organisation amongst staff lacking co-ordination. Check bill visited 3 times bill wrong (not in our favour) twice.
The Halfway House – ChorleyThis is absolutely my favourite restaurant. I drag everyone who comes to visit here, and I always get a warm welcome from Karen the Manager and James the owner. I’m really fussy with my food, and although the menu is huge, I often ask for a bit of tweaking here and there, which is never a problem. The staff can’t do enough for you, but they are never invasive. The place is beautiful, the food is fabulous, the service is attentive and the atmosphere is warm. Unfortunately, I suspect that the food may contain calories.
Truffles – Chorleythe food was fantastic and the service was with a smile the manager is very friendly and the staff always try very hard
Yarrow Bridge Inn – ChorleyBeen several times. Always fabulous food, especially superb service, terrific furnishings and reasonably priced. Terrific location and worth returning over and over again. Never disappointing.
Shaw Hill Hotel, Golf and Country Club – ChorleyVardons restaurant is consistently good. As regular users we are always impressed with the service, the quality of food and value for money. We have been many, many times and have never once been disappointed. There is a special seniors lunch time menu. Vardons deserve to do better and maybe many are off-put by its location. Try it and you will return.
Shaw Hill Hotel, Golf and Country Club – ChorleyI have been to Dante's a few times and the food there is excellent. The staff are extremely helpful and fantastic with kids. I would recommend though that if you don’t like big portions or get filled up quite easily to have a starter then have a main meal but have it as a starter portion, it is plently enough. The garlic bread is superb, if you like spice ask them to add chilli to the tomato garlic bread. This place is a must the wine and food are excellent.
The Halfway House – Chorleyhave been several times to the thyme and plaice never let down by food or service chefs homemade icecreams are great would recommend anyone to give it a try
Thyme and Plaice – ChorleyI have just returned from an amazingly fabulous dining experience at the blue elephant. At 10.30pm at night I had expected a restaurant that was almost closing, but no - there were loads of people still eating and yet without a booking they squeezed me in. The waiters are exceptionally friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I was particularly impressed by the way I was asked after the starter if I would like the main course straight away or to wait a little while (even though by now it was getting onto 11pm - definitely not ushering me out the door). The chefs are highly trained and even offer cookery classes (with 10% of the price going to charity!) The food was delicious - the chicken I ate was extremely tender and there were no grisly bits at all (I am very fussy!!) The poppadoms came with a large selection of dips and I couldn't count the number of times the friendly waiters asked if everything was alright. I don't think any other restaurant I have been to (no matter what genre of food it served) has topped this one!! Oh and the portions were huge - we took the rest home as a take-away for breakfast!!! This restaurant really deserves to be given a higher profile on this website - It ticks all the boxes - ambience was great - not too dark, modern decor with screened off quiet areas and plenty of people dining all at nearly 11pm at night!!! It is popular and I can see why!
The Elephant – ChorleyI went for the first time last night and was greeted charmingly by Tracey, the Manager. A light supper was what I wanted. She suggested garlic bread and Mediterranean dips with a glass of Chardonnay whilst looking at the large menu plus 6 special starters and mains. There is a good selection of pastas and pizza at £8/9, however the Beef Stroganoff took my eye on the main menu, it turned out to be excellent, accompanied by a good mixed salad. With another large glass of wine and an espresso the bill was £30.95. Staff were attentive but not a pain and no one said "no problem". The refurb I thought has been done well, Tracey obviously has the experience to make it work. I will definitely go again soon.
The Halfway House – Chorleymy husband and i found the food to be of a very high standard with a wide variety of choice, with quite a lot of fish on the menu, which makes a pleasant change. I feel the staff have yet to be adequately trained we had a 40 minute wait for our booked table the restaurant was not that busy, the front of house manager had forgotten we where waiting. I was then brought the wrong drink, was not offered black pepper on our pasta dishes and then charged for wine we hadn't ordered. When we paid and brought the error to the attention of Front of House Manager there was no apology offered just a shrug of acceptance. Once the staff teething problems are addressed, I think Dante's will make a quality eatery.
The Halfway House – ChorleyJust returned from our latest visit and thought it was time to share this goldmine that Chorley has! From the exquisite food, friendly staff, fantastic ambience and exceptional value; this place is unrivalled in the area!!! Highly recommend a visit.
Seasons – ChorleyWe've been a few times now. The restaurant is small but this helps create a good atmosphere. The service is always good and the staff are helpful. The food is quite varied but of good quality for the price especially during the week.
Seasons – ChorleyI am really impressed with everything about this nice place.. everything was excellent, the food, service, the welcoming attitude of the staff including the chef. what has really impressed me was the presentation of the dishes, superb! care was taken with every other detail, the dim lights, the jazzy comforting music. I was very proud when I felt my guests were so pleased.
Truffles – ChorleyMy husband I celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, All our guest were overwhelmed and couldn? fault the service, Ambience and the quality of food it was second to none. The Pines is a place my husband and I dine in on a weekly basis and always enjoy our treat, the staff are so helpful and friendly, Quality of food which at times may seem a little pricey but on presentation well worth it. We Highly Recommend the Pines and would like to take this opportunity to thank all concern for their first class service and giving us some happy memories.
Haworths Restaurant at The Pines Hotel – ChorleyThis establishment has recently gone a face lift, due to a fire, I thing. However the transformation is amazing. The food is amazing. Your really cant go wrong if you eat out here or you want to impresses.
The Elephant – ChorleyWe only live locally and visited a few times last summer with some friends we had over from Australia. We promised ourselves to make the time to go more often. We went again for the first time since last year last Thursday and had a lovely meal. We missed James though, I don? think he was working as he always spares the time during the night to some out and chat with you.
