Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyHad the early bird dinner last night and as ever was very impressed with the service, food and ambience of this restaurant.
Papa Luigis – ChorleyDined at Papa Luigis in Euxton on a Wednesday evening. My friend and I both dined from the Early Evening Menu and all the food was delicious. A lively atmosphere due to several birthday parties but good service and a lovely meal which was also very good value.
Papa Luigis – ChorleyThe restaurant has a very good ambience. The menu is very extensive and not just Italian as we had expected. Food quantities were huge both for starters and for mains. So having selected both we found it was too much to eat. The food quality was also good. I ordered the T-bone steak with peppercorn sauce - excellent. We will definitely come again.
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyMum and I had lovely welcome on Sunday.. The place and views are beautiful and the food amazing. Can't wait to go again.
Whins Green KitchenBeautiful food, lovely atmosphere, reasonably priced. Never had a bad meal.

Whins Green KitchenEnjoyable lunch Good food, lovely views, helpful staff
Whins Green KitchenWell, the first thing I should say is that I wouldn’t have actively gone on Tripadvisor to critique this eatery. I would have just put it down to experience – and if someone had asked about my experience, then I’d have given them an honest answer. But then that’s just what happened: Whinns emailed me asking for a review. So here it is. And it ain’t glowing. I just hope it helps the owners address the issues and lift their brand. As the phrase goes ‘we learn more from out failures than from our successes’. I’ll just give you my experience and my honest take in categories of ambience, service, food and value for money. So the position is excellent. Tick. Rolling, manicured hills and lots of open sky, a bucolic idyll. A fantastic stage on which to create a scene for a memorable experience. But as the old American café advertisement said ‘You can’t eat atmosphere.’ The café’s picture window is a double-edged sword: good for external views but utterly terrible for internal ambience. The entire wall of glass is a solid, non-sound absorbing surface. And together with the solid floor, the patrons’ combined voices just create the acoustics of a squash court. My partner and had to speak in raised voices across our small table just to hear each other over the room’s boom. Not relaxing. The front of house staff are friendly and helpful, though, if I were to compare this experience to others, I’d say the manager treads that dangerous line between engaging and intrusive with varying degrees of success. But the food was the real annoyance and let down. My partner, for her birthday lunch, had the spinach and cashew filo pie. I went for the ultimate burger. The back story here is that around lockdown time, I’d been passing Whins with my partner and we’d overheard a lady saying to her friend that the ultimate burger was the best burger she’d even had – ‘burger’ not just meat-free burger. Now, for me, that was kind of a big call. I love burgers. I had to find out - I’ve had all sorts of burgers on multiple continents. I hoped a new holy grail of burgers awaited. The food arrived pretty quickly. I’d been informed that the option of chips with the burger was off as there’d been supply problems, but there was a salad. Fine, I have no loyalty to the potato. But my partner and I were a bit taken aback with our meals. I’m not blaming the kitchen staff here at all. I’ve known enough chefs to know they generally receive a prescriptive menu and ingredients to prepare. We had decided to get different meals so we could share half each of the respective dishes. But the scale of the little filo pie next the haystack of slaw/raw veg was odd. And when I cut my ‘ultimate’ burger in half to scoot half to my partner’s plate, I had exactly two bites of burger left to eat. I’m really not one of the all you can eat brigade and I prefer quality to quantity any day of the week, but this thing was tiny. If it had been twice the size, it would’ve have been just about adequate. It would have been almost laughable, if it hadn’t cost nearly £14. It really did taste good, but ‘ultimate?’ Not in any positive, polite category I can think of. I always find it’s better to under-promise and over-deliver. We waited to order coffees, but no one came to take the order. So we got the bill. There’s a potential gold mine here. Situation. Parking. Lack of competition. Potential offering. Even the sound problem can be solved quite easily. We even had other people to bring on a second visit. But sadly for Whins that money will be going somewhere else. It’s not my job (here) to sort out brand perception and product delivery, all I can do is vote with my feet.
Whins Green KitchenVisited Verdes for the first time with friends. We all had the 3 course meal of the specials menu. £15.95pp The restaurant inside is very classy and it beautifully set. Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyA perfect afternoon was spent here meeting up with family. The views are amazing and the food is excellent. We had the afternoon tea- a wrap each and a soup plus a scone and loads of cakes!
Whins Green KitchenAs always, couldn’t fault anything. Food delicious and plentiful, not rushed to finish our meal, pleasant relaxing atmosphere, very good value for money. Can’t wait to return.
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyLovely food with amazing service. Will be back
Papa Luigis – ChorleyA recent find. Such a beautiful setting and a real treat to have a relatively local vegan/vegetarian eatery. We chose small plates so that we had room for a dessert too. All delicious!
Whins Green KitchenWe had a lovely lunch in a gorgeous location with beautiful views. All food was fresh and delicious, served by friendly, helpful staff. We wished we'd had room for the delisious-looking cakes but the main courses had beaten us! Highly recommended. I only wonder why they close so early?
Whins Green KitchenWe booked a table for two for lunch. The food was delicious amd fresh. It is so refreshing to have such a wonderfully vegetarian/vegan restaurant locally. It would be even better if they were open in the evening too.
Whins Green KitchenHad lunch with friends yesterday and it was excellent. Had the lunch menu and every thing was lovely, the service from the staff , andthe food portions were very generous. Will definitely be going again.
