Luciano’s At The Millstone – ChorleyI took my girlfriend here for her birthday along with our 2 year old son. The staff where very friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. We have recommended the restaurant to family and friends and will be visiting again.
Italian Cottage – ChorleyI have recently been to the Pines, I have to say that it has really let its standards slip. The food wasn't the best and from what I believe the owner is struggling to pay the rent..maybe this is the end of the Pines? What a shame!!
Haworths Restaurant at The Pines Hotel – ChorleyOutstanding food and value. The quality and service are the best in area. A real gem.
Thyme and Plaice – ChorleyWe have been to Amelies several times as we are lucky enough to live nearby. The food and service is consistently good with a wide choice for vegetarians and vegans. Don't expect ultra swish, the decor is very quirky and some rooms a little shabby but that all adds to the interest. Anna Maria is a natural host and makes you feel at home very quickly. The house rose is highly recommended and is good value.
Amelies – ChorleyWent to Amelies on Saturday September 24th for a family birthday. All seven guests were thoroughly delighted with the food, the staff and the restaurant although some of the wine is overpriced. Will definitely go again.
Amelies – ChorleyWe have not been to Alghero's for some time but we remember how much we enjoyed it the last time we visited so i decided to book a surprise meal for our Wedding Anniversary. I knew that it maybe quiet being midweek so the atmosphere would not be vibrant but when we arrived there was 2 other couples and 1 more arrived and that was it, but this is no reflection on the restaurant itself as i said it was mid week. My wife and I ordered different courses as we usually do so we can sample each others and get a true taste of the culinary delights. The Starters were fine but when our 2 different steaks arrived they were actually swimming in sauce to the extent that you could not see the steak. I had the Fillet while my wife had the Sirloin and we both like them cooked medium to rare but we both received them medium to well done. Our potatoes arrived on a separate dish which we were served the potatoes and then the remaining potatoes were taken away, Why?? The vegetables also cam on a dish which were not served to us but we had to serve them ourselves (no big hardship) but a contrast to the potatoes! We ordered a dessert between us which was not brilliant and we both felt very let down by the standard of the cuisine and service level and when we went to pay the bill, the lady behind the till asked us if everything was alright with the meal etc, so when we said NO, she just said " Oh Dear" and that was that! It maybe just a one-off glitch? as we have enjoyed evenings there before, but it will be a long time before we may consider another meal there!
Alghero – ChorleyThis village pub is excellent, so welcoming and the food and service is very good and great value. We usually go on the steak and wine nights were 2 people can eat for 13pound! The food is wonderful and staff really know what customer service is... Highly recommended for nice drink or fantastic homely meal and surroundings.
The Golden Lion Hotel – ChorleyI have been several times now to Dante's and would definitely recommend it to individual diners as well as parties every time I go the food and service are excellent. Recently went to a christening party and it was most excellent, well done
The Halfway House – ChorleyAs vegetarians, we sometimes struggle to find something different on the menu. At Truffles the vegetarian dishes are original and delicious - we have never been disappointed. Lovely atmosphere too..
Truffles – ChorleyAttempted to eat at the Golden Lion today (21/08/11) but after waiting 35 minutes with no starters arriving (after being told the wait was 20 mins) my girlfriend and I had to cancel our order as I had to get to work. As a restaurant manager I cannot understand how it could take so long when there were less than 20 people dining at that time. Furthermore, when inquiring as to how long our food would be I was attended to by a rather blunt barman and received only a token apology from the older lady serving behind the bar. I could have forgiven the wait as just being 'one of those things' if the customer service had been up to scratch but I was made to feel as if everything mention was my fault and if I found my staff dealing with customers in such a way I would be infuriated! If I thought this review would be published I would go into more detail, however as I recall sugarvine does not publish negative reviews (utterly ridiculous) I will leave it at "won't be returning and will never recommend".
The Golden Lion Hotel – ChorleyNot long opened, but this place will take some beating - its already by far my favourite Indian. The food is fresh, delicious and well presented. You can taste the fresh ingredients that are lacking at other indian's and the nan breads are just the best. The service is also spot on - attentive yet not intrusive. I have tried many if not all the Indian restaurants in the area and will now not go anywhere else. The decor is also a treat, modern and stylish, even the toilets are luxurious. Well done to the Naga for creating such an enjoyable experience for a meal out. Can't wait to go again.
Naga – Chorleythis is simply the best food I have ever eaten. Service is outstanding and I cannot wait to return sometime soon.
Amelies – ChorleyI've been to Camerons a couple of times recently for lunch and I've been impressed on both visits. The food is tasty, the service is friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is serene, and the restaurant looks clean and fresh.
Camerons Restaurant – ChorleyWe have just had an evening at La Rocca in Chorley. As a party of 10 and a toddler. We had booked for an eighteenth birthday celebration. At 7:30 prompt we were seated and our drinks order taken. We were very happy with the service and with the exceptional food. I had the FEGATINI ALLA BOSCAIOLA,(omnomnom) followed by a risotto not shown on the menu (Yumnomnom)Spicy sausage, tomato & Salami. You get a healthy portion of everything, , so don't let the price list put you off .It looks pricey..but its not. The quality is ^up^ there, plus its friendly & Good portions. Well done La Rocca , we will definitely be returning and recommend this establishment to all our associates."
La Rocca – ChorleyPerfect. The food is delicious, beautifully cooked, perfect portion sizes, lovingly presented. The menu is great, with the usual Italian favourites but also some innovative twists and new ideas - the pork belly starter - yum. The service is faultless, if you are lucky enough to get the Italian waiter (I think his name is Mario) you are in for quite a night, amusing, attentive (without being annoying) and ready to make suggestions if you ask. The other waiting staff are great too, no surly 17 year olds with a bad attitude just great people who obviously enjoy their work. The atmosphere is brilliant, we've been midweek and at the weekend and the atmosphere is always great. There is a fun happy air about the place but not so loud so you can't hear yourself - perfect. Even though it isn't huge the tables aren't crammed together so if you can talk privately to your dinnerdate. The prices are great - they do midweek offers but even paying full price at the weekend is no problem, they are reasonable and the quality is so good. Well worth it. The only problem is that getting a table on a Saturday night isn't the easiest because they are so booked up!!!
Italian Cottage – ChorleyThe only restaurant in the Preston/Chorley area where I have never had a bad meal or service- it`s always fantastic. I`m getting to the point where I don`t want to bother going anywhere else. Anyone thinking of trying truffles- don`t be put off by the old-fashioned exterior..the inside is lovely and modern, and the food has traditional and adventurous options.
Truffles – ChorleyTheir slogan is the best pizza this side of Italy - and they are not wrong. Delicious pizzas and garlic bread every time ( i am a regular!). My favourite starter is the stuffed mushrooms, and they make yummy home made ice cream. They have an outstanding value offer on through the week for 3 courses, (£10.95!) which allows you to try most things on the menu. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere and always leave planning my next visit!
