Parmesan And Pepper – Chorleyi enjoyed the meal i had with my family and they even came round and took orders for deserts from the table for a lovely little place that was nice to see the service was amazing and they had a host to show you to a table very rare for a pub restaurant i will go back
Yarrow Bridge Inn – Chorleya party of 10 we went on a Friday night,8pm,was very busy, but we had a great night ,staff was very busy but managed to be very helpful, meals were all very very good (chicken livers and steak and Stilton),great to see a open kitchen with a great head chef, overall fab night, I have booked for Xmas already
Alghero – ChorleyMaybe we were unlucky then in terms of service as we were seated for 15 minutes before being handed a menu/offered a drink and then the starter arrived almost a full hour after initially sitting down. Couldn't fault the food though, it was beautiful!
Seasons – ChorleyWe had a truly outstanding meal, it arrived very quickly and was piping hot and so tasty. Vegetables fresh and delicious. Service excellent and very polite. Restaurant cosy and comfortable & everybody so welcoming.
Original Farmers Arms – Chorleythe staff are fantastic and the food was amazing cant wait to go back
Yarrow Bridge Inn – ChorleyIts amazing how the top 10 most searched for restaurants on sugarvine are either not advertising with them, (so I assume this list is a hook to get them to spend their pennies), or this list has websites designed by sugarvine. I have visited a number of the restaurants listed on this 'top 10'. If these are the most searched for places i will eat my hat. Absolutely awful, and this one is the worst - food tastes like its from the frozen section in Asda, and the front of house would be more at home at Chorley Circus. Can we have a new list with better restaurants please.
The Halfway House – ChorleyOne of my favourite restaurants. Food always excellent, especially the garlic mushrooms and the lasagna. Great restaurant, gets busy Friday & Saturday so book for these nights! Would recommend to anyone.
Papa Luigis – ChorleyAgain problem with staffing, we were a large party but the service was unco-ordinated and we were overcharged. I think once staff training is complete and they concentrate on customer service things should hopefully improve. Stroganoff was great once it eventually arrived.
The Halfway House – ChorleyUntil recently we have been visiting Verdes for many years for a lot of reasons...consistent quality of food, consistent quality of service, reasonably priced and we only live 10-15mins drive away. Regulars will be familiar with the fact that late last year they extended the building to increase the indoor capacity (and they needed it) and to be honest this was a mistake. Since then they don't seem to be able to cope with the pressure of more tables because the food quality has gone down and because the place is really busy we are usually in and out within an hour or so. We haven't been for a few months since because we feel that the place has gone downhill in terms of food quality (last time we went the steak was really bad and the veg was cold) and service. It's a shame because a few years ago it was our favourite Italian restaurant in the area, and now it isn't our first choice for an Italian meal any more because the basics have gone out of the window. Because of this we won't be rushing back.
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyI visited the Blue Elephant a few years back and wrote a review (02/10/2004) about the poor service i'd received twice. I have to say, I tried again on a friend's recommendation and this visit was much, much better good food, very nice ambience and good friendly service. Although, prices are a little on the expensive side.
The Elephant – ChorleyBooked a meal on a Saturday night when a artist was on. Given a table near the entrance and had to shout to hold a conversation. Table was 45 min late. Meal was very late coming, given garlic bread as apology for them forgetting our order, but our appetite was nearly gone. Asked for sweet menu waited 20 mins and asked again, manager blamed waitress. We were given drinks to compensate but it was too late by then night was ruined. Wrote letter to complain but didnt even receive a reply. If you are determined to go here book a early table away from the entrance if there is a artist on.
The Halfway House – ChorleyAfter a good recomendation from a family member,we decided to visit the Original Farmers Arms on Sun 9th Sept. Unfortunatly we found the evening very dissapointing. Although we were earlier than we had booked we were available to be seated and order. However one of the starters ordered was not exactly what was imagined (tiger prawns that looked like ordinary large prawns). Although the main courses were nice, one was slightly wrong to what was ordered and the other needed to be re-cooked. After a ten minute wait since the mains and waiting for a waitress to take the orders of desserts and coffees with no success, we decided to pay the bill and leave. We are sorry to give this bad report, but this is a true reflection on how we felt about the evening.
Original Farmers Arms – ChorleyIt is not very often that you can visit a place for the first time and feel so welcome and relaxed. My wife and i are regular diners and have eaten at many different venues. We were recommended to visit the Yew Tree at Heath Charnock by several friends who had been for a recent birthday treat. We arrived and were made to feel wanted and the ambience and atmosphere was excellent. My wife commented on how nice the finishing touches were and how clean the ladies toilets are. The food was as good as i have ever eaten - the starters, main courses and desserts were faultless. Congratulations to everyone at the Yew Tree -we shall be back very soon.
Yew Tree Inn – ChorleyMy Husband and I went to the Beaumont for the first time on our friends recommendation... and what a transformation. The food was fantastic we both choose different things to have a taste of one anothers and every single mouthful was divine. From starter to dessert nothing could be faulted. Great customer service. the Cask ale was perfect and the wine menu had plenty of choice all at reasonable prices it's always hard to find good places to eat and now we have found the Beaumont it won't be long before we're back again! Keep up the good work you're all doing a great job.

The Beaumont – ChorleyMeagre portions for the price paid . Pub grub- at restaurant prices . Staff- very pretty to look at- but seems to be without experience . Good points - Cask beer very good - plenty of parking .
