Persia Grill House – ChorltonI went to Coriander on Monday with my flatmate. I can honestly say it was the best curry I have had in Manchester. I had a Chicken Chilli Massalla. The portion was bigger than you usually get, it wasn't oily, and it was downright delicious. My flatmate was also impressed with his Jal Frezi. The breads were fresh and the consistency was brilliant. I'll be forgetting about the curry houses in West Didsbury from now on. This is a gem
Coriander – Chorltongreat great great and even more great Cardamom Tea! never tried it, and I'll surely go back for more. The food was fantastic. Tasty, well cooked and well presented...and incredibly cheap. You have to try the halloumi mezze, mouth watering! I'll surely go back and I'll take all the people I can! Thanks so much for the great dinner
Nectar Bistro – ChorltonMost recent visit last night. Great venue, sitting in the front of the restaurant beats any other seat in Chorlton. Always a nice atmosphere and busy, good selection of beers (inc guest ales) and wines. Quality of ingredients used seems to set this apart from any other pizza eatery I know in and around 'town'. One gripe on this visit was I felt my base wasn't quite crisp enough but to be fair it's normally spot on. Keep it up
Croma – ChorltonHad an excellent 3-course dinner here for less than £20 per head, inclusive of some fine Arabic coffee. The menu offered all the well-known middle eastern dishes, plus some we hadn't encountered before. As stated in earlier reviews, the owners are charming, "hands-on" and clearly well experienced in the preparation of middle eastern food.
Nectar Bistro – ChorltonI can recommend this place for a number of reasons: Amazing home cooked food Wonderful couple who run it Cheap THE BEST COFFEE IN MANCHESTER! (I am a coffee expert and i have not found a better espresso in Manchester.) Highly recommended to both eat of just go and sit for a while with a nice coffee. Bear in mind, that as the food is cooked to order, it may take a few mins to arrive. I don't see this as a problem. Well worth the wait! In fact, I'm going there again now...!
Nectar Bistro – ChorltonHad the most fantastic lunch today. Great food, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere and staff extremely friendly. That good going back for more. Fantastic choice of food and all fresh ingredients - absolutely lovely.
Nectar Bistro – ChorltonA welcome edition to Manchester, let alone Chorlton Great Lebanese good, great prices, very friendly owners/management. Remember it's B-Y-O if you are going.
Nectar Bistro – ChorltonBrilliant little place, exceptional food, good solid service and ridiculous value for money. The bento box concept is excellent fun. My recommendation is get a bento box and call it quits there, get a starter only if you are very sure you've got a monster appetite. (I couldn't manage it all) The bang bang chicken salad is wonderful, and the steamed dim sum are luscious. a must visit, even if you aren't a chorlton local
Yakisoba – ChorltonLOVE the horse and jockey really would recommend. Good British pub food at good value for money.
Horse and Jockey – ChorltonThe service was excellent, efficient and polite, and the food was, well, OK. It was a little bit 'curse of the orange sauce' with 5 dishes coming out the same colour and not far off the same flavour...Jalfrezi, saag paneer, chana bhagi, karahi and one other. Quantities were huge but I'm a less is more kind of a girl. It was reasonably busy - it was Friday night, and the decor is OK. I like the open kitchen. With so many good curry houses to choose from now in and around Manchester, that charge around the same (for food at least, the beer prices were very reasonable), I wouldn't go back.
Asian Fusion – ChorltonVery poor sandwich...the ham and cheese "melt" was scarcely warm on the outside and cold on the inside, also hardly any cheese with a sickly sweet chutney...this and 2 small coffees to take out for £8.10....felt like I'd been mugged.
North Star Deli – ChorltonI have had the chance to come across The north star deli during a business visit, and I must say what a nice surprise! I eat out a lot because of my work and for pleasure, and what a selection in the deli, great food, fab looking place and to finish you must must try the owner favorite "gourmandise" the famous french MACARON !! Being from Paris I do know my macaron, this is perfect for a little gift for someone with a sweet tooth or to compliment your coffee. So keep up the good work guys and Ladure'e better watch out.
North Star Deli – ChorltonI think this is the best South Asian restaurant in Manchester. The staff are fantastic, extremely courteous and really do tailor the dishes to your taste. The food is of a very high standard, and as a regular customer, I am always impressed by the dishes not being submerged in a huge amount of oil. If there was any justice, this place would be busy every night of the week. My favourite dish is the balti fish tikka, although the veggie options are excellent too, particularly the channa dishes.
Asian Fusion – ChorltonThis place had been recommended by a friend who ALWAYS knows the best places to eat. We were not disappointed! Unable to go out as often as we'd like for evening meals this is now our number one takeaway too. Very tasty generous portions.
Yakisoba – ChorltonI love Turkish delight iv recently moved away from Chorlton and have had to take the 4 mile drive from urmston back here !! food is fresh as it gets , theres no let up with the take away side its restaurant quality in a plastic bag ! , great price , great staff both restaurant and counter. houmas is divine the lamb is so so tender iv had kebabs from all over manc but this is by far the best real Turkish kebab iv eaten in a 100 mile radius, score out of 10 ? its gotta be 11 !! all this talk kebabs , where are my car keys?
Turkish Delight – ChorltonThe takeaway and restaurant have to be the finest examples of both in the North West. To be honest, trading standards should insist that other takeaways call their meat/pitta/salad combinations something other than 'kebab' as this should be reserved for Turkish Delight alone! The tomato sauce and hot chilli sauce are to die for, as is the excellent hummus. Don't forget to ask for it on yufka!
Turkish Delight – ChorltonWe just had takeaway chicken kebabs from Turkish delight and I must say i was surprised when we ordered the turkish naan bread (instead of pitta) which is an extra 30p and saw it come out of a packet and thrown on top of our meat on the grill. The Kebab was NOT tasty, the chicken was watery, bread dry and i've had much better kebabs elsewhere, where you get fresh naan and it's cheaper than Turkish Delight too!
